What do you guys prefer in the way of fluke colors? I have heard just about every color works, but I don't know. I'll be using' them in clear water for the most part, so I was thinkin' baby bass, but would like to know what you guys prefer........... I'll be tossin' them weightless for the most part, maybe with a nail weight for a little deeper waters. But Anyway, what should I get???

 One of the lakes I fish is REALLY clear (especially for the Mid-South). Have used baby bass and green pumpkin with equal success. Tried some pink (I mean bubblegum) trick worms fished weightless on top. Did real well. Wondered how flukes would do in that color :-/...

Pearl white, and shad works well for so cal....hmmm, that rymed.. ;D

Baby Bass does well for me.

I catch 80% of my fluke fish on pearl white. Arkansas shad works well as does watermelon seed. The way I work a fluke I doubt color makes a big difference. I use pearl white so I can see the bait disappear during those brief moments when there is slack in the line.

I agree, those two colors will get it done.

The other exception for me at least is when I am carolina rigging. I use water melon in clearer water and junebug for stained water.

I've had the most luck with baby bass.

Bubble Gum and White are the two colors I throw. I have a couple other colors but I always seem to pass them by.

i do have a pack of white with a char. tail and i havnt cought anything on those. same for the DOA jerk shads (white w/ red tail).  :-?

In my opinion, that's good advice.

"Bubblegum" looks like a flashlight under the water, making it easy to observe every dart and glide of a subsurface lure.

The dubious difference between any two colors will pale by comparsion

to a sloppy presentation versus a well-presented lure.

For my Fluke type baits I prefer bright colors that I can see easily. Colors like Baby Bass, White Ice, Glimmer Blue, White Pearl and such is what I use most of the time.

Watermelon seed is my favorite, but I don't put as much stock into color as some.  Presentation is more important IMHO.

I fish flukes all year in water with 6-10ft visibility and I like the alternate between smokey joe and baby bass.  I know most people think color doesn't make a difference, but when you have every part of your presentation correct, color can make a huge difference.

Baby Bass is #1 for me

I like colors that match the baitfish in that area. Which happens to be alot of the colors already spoken of: shad colors, Watermelon, and baby bass are really good to me.

Thanks guys!!! Looks Like I'm gonna pick up around three packages, Baby Bass, Smoky Joe, and Watermelon. I'll go from there. Nice to have plastics as cheap as zooms available so you can get three or for colors no sweat.

You might have a little trouble finding a "smokey joe" fluke  

Pearl and Watermelon Seed are my colors.  I keep a bottle of chartreuse dye near bye and add a little color to the tails in murkier waters.

My girlfriend uses bubble gum and has caught plenty of fish.  The dye makes the tail a bright orange.

White, albino, white Ice with some JJ's when needed.... You can't beat a White Fluke dipped in JJ's, on a drop shot hooked side ways... 8-)

Never tried a bubblegum colored fluke.  Who'd athought. Guess I'll give that one a try.
