  1. They say that a new lake reaches it's first peak at between 10 and 12 years.
  2. I use a fly vise and I cut a specific length of wire then wrap it very loose around the hook, stack the tabs of skirt material the way I want them and slide them through the wire loop. I hold them in place as I tighten the wire loop. I feel like I have more control of where the strands wind up and I get a great skirt flare in the finished product. It also takes less time than putting it in a rubber collar first.
  3. I always thread them.
  4. Is it worth the effort? In your case no. You can't catch a fish on one anyway. The way I fish a fluke it is critical that it's perfect. The action gets so screwed up if the fluke isn't perfectly straight.
  5. I have a pare of yellow polarized lensed glasses that I wear at night. My main concern is a bug in the eye while I'm at top speed.
  6. Take them out of the package they came in and dip them in boiling water to get them straight. This is what is called "Tuning a Fluke". Then you can carefully put them back into the bag or store them anyway you can to keep them straight.
  7. Mine is the cover that's in the water.
  8. I don't own either of them but I can tell you that the Hobie fins fold up tight to the bottom of the boat when you need them out of the way and then before you take the yak out of the water you can remove the pedal and fin assembly from the top of the boat. It's very easy.
  9. I love my 2004 Triton Aluminum. It is built like a tank and is as stable as a fiberglass boat.
  10. Catt, I don't think I would call it a trigger. It's more like loading the gun. You can't shoot untill it's loaded but it may be days or weeks till it's the right time to pull the trigger.
  11. I always have at least 20 rods in the boat when I'm fishing.
  12. I don't recall a professional tournament that has been won using a senko. They are good baits but they are boring to fish. I feel that if they are hitting a senko I can catch them on other things that I have confidence it. I can't count how many times my partner started waxing them on a senko and I would just pull out a 1/4 oz jig with a Rage Chunk and catch more weight than him out of the same school of fish. To each their own.
  13. That's cool. Congrats of the great fish. That's just one more thing that proves that the bass don't read the rule book.
  14. I have two different tints for sight fishing. Costa Del Mar glasses of course. With 580 Copper lenses for low light and 580 Green Mirror lenses for sunny days.
  15. Senko's ..... I'd rather watch paint dry.
  16. NGC Sports doesn't make money on their piece of crap lures. They make their money on your information. You order the lure and they sell all your information to anyone willing to pay for it. It's a sham from their adds to their product. Steer clear of them.
  17. I have a guy in Louisiana who will make any color you want. He's very good and his prices are good to. I'll shoot you a PM.
  18. Mike!!!!!!!!! Where in the world have you been. We miss you bud. Great fish by the way.
  19. I fish my light jigs with a 7 foot Medium Extra-Fast. It's a Dobyns 702C. It says it's a Fast on the website but it's more of a XF.
  20. For about five years now I've been used Izorline XXX. I've had 5 to 8lb bass wrapped around stumps while I got the boat to them to pull them off and it didn't break. I have yet to have a problem with it and I'm not changing my brand any time soon.
  21. As many as it takes. I'm not 100% loyal to anyone. I prefer Rage Tail but that's not the only bag in my boat.
  22. That stinks Chris but dang that a cool pic. I love it.
  23. SWEEEEEEEET!!! That's great Nate, Congrats.
  24. Is it me or does this happen every year down there at Toho. Every time a big tourny is down there some people get there stuff taken. You'd think the Hotels or Police departments would do something to help the anglers out.
