  1. Spot Removers are not shaky heads.
  2. I've been stuffing styrofoam in tubes and using a 2oz slip sinker for years.
  3. It looks like a great boat. Fill it with water to find all the leaks. Put a floor in it like LBH's boat.
  4. Oh, Bill Dance and Ray Scott were instrumental in helping us make the final decision on next years BassResource Road Trip. It took phone calls to them and Glenn was convinced.
  5. Iaconelli has written a few articles for us. Timmy Horton and I have discussed a few of the topics on here. I know by my conversations with Bob Lusk that Ray Scott checks us out from time to time. The fact is that they fish 6 days a week and travel the 7th. There isn't much time for the Internet but those who do spend time searching for information know who we are and have nothing but good things to say about the site. The feed back that we have gotten from them is that we stand above the crowd because of the size of the site, the information that it provides, and the quality of the forums members here. It's cool to walk up to some of the pros and have them recognize us. During the interviews we had admin from other bass forums there. It was interesting to see the difference in how the pros responded to them as apposed to us.
  6. It's refreshing to see that you care about the humane way to kill the fish. The good thing about fishing is that we have the option to be selective even after the excitement of the fight. So if you are going to keep some for the table please be selective. Take only what you will eat. Take the ones that will have little effect on the future of the fishery. The larger fish are the breading fish. Take care of them and they will return the favor with many keepers for years to come.
  7. If someone is a bank beater then 4-10 would be the answer only because that person spends 99% of their time fishing shallow water. If someone is an offshore structure fisherman then your answer will be 10+, only because that's where he spends most of his time. The fact is that you will find lunkers at any depth. I've caught them in 1ft of water and I've hooked them in 45ft of water. It's just a matter of finding that spot. So mix it up a bit and concentrate on how to read structure and how to find those spots on that key structure at verious depths and your success will only increase.
  8. Nope, What kind of plastic are you putting on it?
  9. eastcoastfisher, you might want to ask that second question in the Rod and Reels section. You'll get more replys there. As for the rattles. I use them alot. I have three different sizes for different plastics, depending on their thickness. Use super glue to seal the hole after you stick them in.
  10. Kim Carver is from around here. I have fished against him several times at pot tournies on his home lake. He is a great guy and always a threat. But not as much as he was before he started traveling and fishing. I'm rooting for him.
  11. That's a sweet deal.
  12. Wayne I totally agree with you. If you turn your sesitivity all the way up you will be able to find the thermocline if there is one. It will show up as a cloudy section at a set depth. I have seen one as shallow as 8ft and as deep as 30ft. It all depends on what time of year it is, how hot it's been, water clearity, and many other factors. Here are some BR articles on the subject. http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/thermocline.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/shallow_deep_fishing.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/fish-locator.html http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/hot_summer_fishing.html http://www.bassresource.com/fish_biology/destratification.html http://www.bassresource.com/fish_biology/water_quality_problems.html
  13. Richmond Mill Lake, North Carolina Designed by Ray Scott and Bob Lusk and full of so much trophy potential it ain't fair. In a few years it will be a lake of monsters.
  14. It sounds like you need to take somebody fishing. Find an experiance fishing partner that fishes that lake and take him out on your boat. Spend some time picking his brain and watching how he does things.
  15. The fish that Fred Roumbanis pulled out of his livewell was the big fish for the entire Classic.
  16. There are more than 20 flies that meet that discription. Do you remember what the wings were made of?
  17. Key Points.......................UMMMM. I think you got it right...... Key Points. Long, shallow, main and secondary points to be axact. Bass hold on these to ambush the migrating shad and other baitfish in the lake.
  18. Screw the worm on and then put the hook in. Don't put the hook all the way through the worm. Just stick the point in and give a tug on the tail of the worm and that should do it. There is no need to tex-spose the hook.
  19. What kind of shaky head will you be using?
  20. Shawn can probably make you one.
  21. There is no way you would be imposing. The best thing about these trips is the chance to fish with so many different people and learn something from each one. That is why we do it. Many of us come with an open seat just for this.
  22. It looks like a kicked-up Lake Fork Creature. I love the Lake for Creature for C-rigging and flipping grass. It give off allot of vibration. I'm going to have to try some of these Mutants.
  23. Hookerz tackle sells some of the best worm hooks at the best prices. I bought mine in bulk in every size I need and it only cost me about 50 bucks. That's 25 of each #1 thru 5/0 sizes in EWG.
  24. Our local newspaper has a section in the Friday's addition just for fishing. It list the upcoming tournaments and the results of last weeks tournaments. It also has a list of clubs with openings and contact information for each club. You could check to see if your paper does that and if they don't then ask them to start.
