  1. It's a good read but I wish that it was entirely based on facts. Some of the caracters in the book were bad mouthed because they didn't agree with the writer. Others know more about it than me and you will probably hear from them as well.
  2. It's about time. Welcome to the family.
  3. I've noticed alot more aluminum boats on the lake these days. Mine included. I love my 90hp Merc. It just goes and goes.
  4. Great video Glenn and great music. Thanks for putting it together. Now it's Kentucky Lake bound.
  5. I'll try mind reading. A resevoir boat is an all electric boat used on small county water empoundments. What he's trying to do is build an electric outboard motor out of a golf cart motor.
  6. I won't be buying one from that site though. I checked out the other reels that they sell and they are way over priced. But that new Revo is going to look nice on a couple of my Dobyns Rods.
  7. Get a couple of milk crates for storage. Put some lids on them and you will have a place to put your stuff on top of. If you need to remove them then you can. A 10 ft boat is very very dangerous. I wouldn't make any permanent additions to it because space to catch your balance as you fall is at a premium.
  8. I fish out of a Triton 186 Sport Aluminum with a 90hp motor. It is a solid boat It's built like a tank. But I have heard bad things about the Triton VT series. The main complaint has been the welds. I took a close look at them at the Bassmasters Classic Expo and I would have to agree. The welds are crap. Fivebasslimit was with me and he is a welder. He said that if one of his employees made welds like that he would fire them. As for the other boats. The Express is your best bet. It is way more stable than the Tracker.
  9. I couldn't find the dropshot weights that I like anywhere on the east coast and I couldn't get the company that makes them to ship me some from Cali so I started pouring my own last year. I only use the teardrop shaped sinkers with the Drop shot swivels (clasps). The DS swivels are a must. No matter what you do you will loose some. I use the teardrop ones because of two advantages. They have a low center of gravity so they stay on the bottom better. Keeping them on the bottom keeps the silt from getting stirred up and prevents the bass from striking the sinker. The other is the narrow top. This makes it easier to get out of stags. Also if you are fishing in cover like brush try using a circle hook. The circle hook is easier to get unsnagged.
  10. Take luck out of fishing.
  11. It's tough to get one rod to cover both of those. A Frog Rod is a long, heavy rod. A topwater rod is a short Medium X-fast action rod. They are almost opposites. I fish topwater 10 months out of the year and my topwater rod is either a 6'8" Med Ex-fast or a 7' Med Ex-fast Dobyns 703C. My Frog rod is a 7'6" Heavy Dobyns 765C.
  12. Yes Chris, that's me.............. In your boat. Go Dawgs!!!!
  13. Well, Well, Well. Congrats man. That is awesome. My first son weighed one oz less than yours. Enjoy being a dad.
  14. I disagree with the this. Most baitfish have a little chartruse. Don't be afraid to tie on different colors. Mix it up a little. Bass love gizzard shad. It's the southern trout. Go out one day with just an 8 inch swimbait and see what happens. But go ahead and fish what you have confidence in.
  15. If a colored one is in your budget I would recommend it. It makes identifying things on the bottom so much easier.
  16. Welcome. You have found the perfect place to quickly increase your bass knoledge. Check out the links that Roadworrior gave you and read the articles in the Bigginers link that Senile gave you and you will quickly be on your way.
  17. That's awesome. Congrats.
  18. Most of the teams do that. It started a couple of years ago.
  19. I love to use the BPS Squirmin' Super Worm in Green Pumpkin and also junebug. It says 10" but when it's streched out it will almost go 12". http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_15663_100007001_100000000_100007000_100-7-1
