  1. I may just end up spooling both reels up with Yo-zuri. I bought enough of it. Agreed lol. Love playing with different lines and such. So that's why I wasn't going to put Yo-zuri on both. Again thanks for everyones thoughts! Love this board. Learned a lot this past year by asking questions and reading. Maybe someday I will actually be able to contribute some info. ;D
  2. Learn something new everyday. Never knew that.
  3. I think I'm just going to stay with Trilene XL as well after doing some research. Been comfortable with it. Thanks everyone for your suggestions.
  4. I hear that cross her eyes often. Feel dumb for asking....but what exactly does that mean? :-[
  5. I have some fluoro already. Again looking for MONO suggestions. ;D
  6. Already have it RR. Looking for other options for this setup. Thanks though.
  7. Going to throw some mono on my old mitchell combo 7 foot medium with moderate action and use it as my crankbait setup. It is a spinning rig. So what kind of mono and lb test would you guys suggest for all around shallow crankbaiting. In the past I have used Trilene XL with no problems. I don't want anything really pricey either. Original Stren has been decent for some people but others HATE it.
  8. Actually if something is working really well and I know someone on my local pond is struggling, than I'll give them a tip on what is working for me. I'm not in the competitive fishing trail so for me its just helping someone else enjoy there day.

What size hooks are on these badboys. I have the firetiger trap and a chrome/blueback trap. Didn't use them at all this year though. Still in my tacklebox from when I used them as a teenager. Going to change the hooks out so I was just curious. I think the front maybe a #4 and the back a #6. Not sure though.
  10. You mean the right not the left. ;D
  11. Anyone ever try the Nories Bug by Kinami? That has a lot of appendages. Bait Monkey has been tempting me with it. Looks like it would be a good flipping bait.
  12. Welcome!!!!!

That's the problem I don't have many rocks, stumps, and boulders in my ponds. You should go find some rocks, stumps and boulders and throw them in the pond.....no lie. I've thought about it. But it is my dads pond. He has a problem with having any sort of weed cover. Trying to talk him out of killing off the vegetation next year. So throwing more stuff in may be a sore spot. I keep telling him its a great setup for bass to thrive. He wants that nice crystal clear blue water though with no plants. Crazy...... ;D I WANT IT MESSY!!!! But since I don't live there and have a place of my own....I really don't have a say in HIS pond.

Caught my PB smallie on a 6" Gulp shakey worm. That was in the spring of last year. Didn't catch anything else for the rest of the year on GULP. Personally I think it stinks and the original power bait line is MUCH MUCH better for catching bass.
  15. The cold, the wind, and the rain. Heck with that stuff.
  16. Papa (my grandfather) Taught me how to fish when I was just a toddler. On the banks of the Cattaraugus Creek in Versailles. Grew up there in the summers at my Grandfathers house which is on the banks. Parents worked weekdays and I spent all day with him and my grandma. Never forget my grandma hooking into a nice steelhead. She got it within a foot from shore and it came off......my grandma actually bellyflopped into the water from shore to try and jump on it. She missed. ;D Best fishing memory ever as a child.

Clear to semi- cloudy is how it is most of the time. Never really hits a coffee color at all. Not lakes but my ponds. Don't fish any lakes.

  19. Again the baitmonkey is helping me to store up on things for next spring. Bought my first DT series bait. DT-06 in a Bluegill pattern. Since I fish mostly small and large ponds. Wondering what other colors are effective or is it really not an issue. Have had good luck with Rapalas as a kid and I want to get back into fishing them. Thinking a baby bass color for my next one. Thoughts?

You talking about the Baby -1 elites? You can buy them at walmart for 2.99 Suprised the crap out of me because they are running in that 5 and 6 dollar range online. Check your walmarts people. Have no clue if they work though. I'll find out in the spring.
  21. Well, that's probably been a good thing for some years, but do YOURSELF a favor and get her a gift anyhow! You will be miles ahead and your life with wife will be soooooo much better. Build up a few chits, you never know when you'll need 'em. 8-) Check..... Did that last year. 8-)
  22. Wife and I don't exchange for Christmas. We just buy for our families and of coarse make sure our son is taken care of.
  23. Sale ends today guys!!!!!
  24. I posted the exact same condition in like May or so. Nobody could really tell me what it was. Interesting to see comments now. Here is the smallie I got earlier this year with the same thing. The black stuff didn't come off of my fish either. Part of its body. Looks just like used motor oil because it fades on some parts. But it obviously isn't.
  25. I agree. To even laugh about it is sick.
