If you could only fish ONE lure the rest of your life....
ebay only has a lot of 3 right now. In red shad color. I have no need for three packs. That would last me forever.

Spinning vs B/C for Worm & Jig Fishing
2500 is fine man. I have four spinning rigs and none of them are larger than a 2500 size reel. You can go up to 10 lb on most 2500 sizes. Going up higher to a 3000 size will gain you a couple ounces in unneeded weight. Same as you....I prefer spinning gear. Just more comfortable with it and I can pitch and flip just fine with it since I grew up with that style. Fished 1/2 ounce jigs last year as well with no issues. I know I should pick up a baitcaster to try them out but until I start fishing lures heavier than 5/8 than I see no need in it. Heck I was pulling out fish in the slop with 4lb vanish and a medium rated rod last year (all I had on me at the time). As long as your drag is set correctly you should have no issues. My 2 cents anyway. But I'm also a shore fisherman most of the time.

Looked everywhere for these Catt. Can't hunt them down. I need a good ringworm.

Walmart clearance
It's amazing that our dunkirk walmart doesn't sell crap for fishing stuff (for smallies and LM anyway). It's literally less than 3 minutes away from Lake Erie and a marina. There is a good selection of walleye stuff though some maybe that explains it. While the Springville location which is about an hour away from Erie...has a much better fishing selection when it comes to bass.

Walmart clearance
Your walmarts stock that stuff? Never ever have I seen Loomis rods, senkos, or Lucky Crafts. If your being serious than I want your walmarts lol. Mine have nothing but cheap tackle for the most part. The best thing they have going for there isles are Power Pro.

A box showed up on my doorstep today...
Have the same reel. Love it....actually I like it a lot more than my 6735 President.

Walmart clearance
Everything that I saw on sale was nothing that I was interested in.

Straight Tail Worms
I have enough worms right now RW but for the audience out there, what size kutail are you using?

Straight Tail Worms
This past year I T-Rigged em weightless and also with split shot. When weightless I kind of jerk them around to get that swirling action. This coming year I plan on throwing them on some shakey heads in certain waters.

Talking about Bluegills, Redears, Perch and Crappie
I agree. Never tried them on a fly rod but love taking my UL out with me. 3" Berkley trout worms in natural color just kill em. But so will most things that size. ;D

How many in a good day?
For me? If I catch nothing but one 4 lber than I'm a happy man and consider it a good day. Especially if that 4 lber is a smallie. 8-) But if I'm catching numbers than I would say the same thing dave. 7-10 fish is a good outing for me. Especially being shore bound most of the time and only fishing a couple hours at a time.

Ribbon Tail Worms - What is your favorite?
Picked up some Culprits last week and they look awesome. Especially the 10" size in Red Shad. Your favorite Ribbon Tail? Sizes and colors?

Using coffee to scent your worms?
Well they do have those coffee tubes out now. But I don't think it's an attractant at all. In my opinion it's more of a masking agent. Drug dealers in columbia would hide there coke in crates of coffee because they couldn't be detected as well by dogs.

what should you do but don't?
Learn to fish a baitcaster. I do everything on spinning gear and I don't have a problem with it at all. But I should learn to use one.

Anybody sucessful with chatterbaits?
now thats an idea speaking of which I have much more succes doing something like that than using it with the skirt and all. This is my baby here:It is a berkley realistix power minnow.Killer lure.Take my word, they crush this thing. Man that looks sweet. I have the perch colored realistix. Thinking of ways to fish them and this idea looks to be a winner. 8-)

Asking your wife's permission...
Amen. Selfishness is a family killer.

Anybody sucessful with chatterbaits?
Huh? Let's see...they don't work, but they're cheap? : Well who knows maybe they will work for someone else. I didn't exactly fish the crap out of it. For 4 dollars what's the hurt? Now I wouldn't spend 4 bucks on one bait but for the kit why not? Either that or putting it towards a gallon of gas! ;D If he doesn't like it or it doesn't produce. Sell the kit on ebay. You will make most of your money back on someone paying for the shipping and handling alone.

tough day...
Thinking the same thing. Makes me sad because it looks a lot like this one beaver pond I fish. :'(

Power worms & salt
Salt on the outside is a marketing strategy though. Most of my baits that are salted on the outside have a marking on the package. Saying "Heavily Salted!!!!" Like it's something new and exciting. ;D

Anybody sucessful with chatterbaits?
For 4 bucks why not. But to answer your question....no I have never had any luck with them. You think they would work though....lots of vibration. Am actually shocked the pike haven't crushed my black and red one.

Even greater start to 08
I was fishing from a boat, but it's tough when I have to boat over to another boat and ask them to take a picture! ;D The trout hit a trickworm. I caught a 4lb trout on a trickworm a couple months back. Interesting. I fish a large pond that has some brown and rainbows in it. I usually wish with 3" power worms for them though. Really didn't fish the trick worm too many times. Guess I will have to break out the trick worms and split shot more this year. Great fish! 8-)

Spinning Gear Avid 6'8" Medium power Extra Fast action 3/16-5/8 lure weight 6-12 lb line Fish all my plastics on this rig and I'm loving it. For a mostly bank fisherman this is a great setup.
