Shimano Compre 6'10" MH extra fast
Okay so I came across this stick and picked it up. What would you guys use this for? T-rigs and Jigs? Pairing it up with a Citica 200D. Thoughts? This is it for me as far as rods and reels go this year. I swear..... : I need ice-out to come fast. Or I'm going to be broke and wearing multiple battle wounds from the wife. ;D In the past month I have bought the following setups: Citica 100dsv and put it on a Shimano Clarus 6'6" M MF Revo S going on a 6'6" Falcon Lowrider MH F Citica 200D being put on this Compre My wallet hurts. Thankfully I have 60 bucks coming back from Shimanos rebate program.

Neat Senko Mod.
Pretty sweet Dave. I think I'll give that a try as well. Cool idea.

Extreme Tubo?
Read an article about it in FLW. I thought for sure the thing didn't even have a hook on it. It was used to tick off inactive fish that were not biting. Than they would throw another bait down there and they would smash it. To much work IMO. I thought it was dumb as well.

BassMaster magazine price increase
Bassin is the way to go IMO.

BUYING RODS ON LINE: TACKLE WAREHOUSE
Weird Muddy. I live in NY and all my packages come from PA when I order from there. Never been charged tax either. Are you getting screwed lol.

BUYING RODS ON LINE: TACKLE WAREHOUSE
Not too mention there fast! My baits, rods, and reels ALWAYS ship out the same day that I order them.

BUYING RODS ON LINE: TACKLE WAREHOUSE
I buy all my rods and reels from them if I can. They take great care of your rods in preparing them for shipping as well. Compared to BPS and how they ship them. Can't beat free shipping and no tax with rods. No brainer if you ask me.

Speaking of Lake Erie.............
Well, I don't know when I will make it up there, but Lake Erie is my #1 Fantasy Destination! If a fellow plans a trip, what is the best alternative if the lake isn't suitable? Is there an inland lake close that would work for Plan B? 8-) Chautauqua Lake: Muskies, LM, walleye and smallies. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chautauqua_Lake http://www.dec.ny.gov/outdoor/9230.html

Good all around rod to pair with a Revo S
Decided that for right now I'm going to take the Falcon 66MH Lowrider and use that on my Revo S, instead of my Citica 100. Bought a Shimano Clarus 66mmf and I'm going to put my citica 100 on that for topwaters and small crankbaits. Figured I showed chill for a bit lol so I settled for the 59 dollar rod. But I will take the suggestions here and check them out for when old Uncle Sam sends us our economic spending package. Probably will go with the St Croix Legends when that time comes. Love my spinning rod from them. Thanks men.

I'm in love!
I now have a Revo S as well. I'm not brand loyal. Just want to play for a bit. 8-) Try out the brands.

St. Croix Rod for shaky head
AS68MXF - I own this rod and love it. It's my first nice rod that I have ever owned. Used it a lot this past year with weightless T-rigs, wacky wormin, and some shakey heads. The rod is very light and strong. edit: I meant 6'8" not 6'6"

Good all around rod to pair with a Revo S
Baitmonkey has hit me hard as of late. Picked up a Citica and Falcon Rod a couple weeks ago. Found a good deal on Ebay for a brand new Revo S for 90 dollars. Now I need a good all around rod to go with it. Around 100-150 dollars.

Ice out
They don't. We can fish year round. With catch and release through the winter months. But if he is keeping his fish than he has to wait until April 1st for the "take" season to open.

Nice fish! We are still froze up here in NY. Makes me wonder how you have thawed water over there. I'm jealous.

BPS Crankin' Stick or Shimano Clarus
Mainly a shore fisherman. What is the positives and the negatives for the two sizes that I'm having trouble on deciding. 7 foot 6'6" Going to be cranking mostly DT4s, DT6s, and Bandit footloose, 100s, and 200s. With an occasional lipless crank thrown in.

BPS Crankin' Stick or Shimano Clarus
Actually I don't get charged sales tax either. Live in NY.

BPS Crankin' Stick or Shimano Clarus
Need a crankbait style rod. Looking at the BPS Crankin stick 7ft Medium and also the SHimano Clarus 6'6" Medium power Medium Fast action. Both are 59.99 and in my price range for just starting out cranking. Thoughts? The Shimano Clarus will be cheaper in the end with free shipping from ***. THe BPS Crankin stick will cost me around 70 after shipping and rod fee.

I'm in love!
Yesterday the temps finally went up into the 50s. So I broke out the BPS Tourney Classic reel and a rod to practice baitcasting for the first time ever. Reading all these horror stories had me leary on using one. But looking into reelmechs articles and other tips I felt pretty confident. Casted for a half hour yesterday in my backyard with some 20mph gusts. IT FELT AWESOME!!!! I practiced pitching, side arm casts, and overhand casts. The only time I backlashed is when I tried to chuck it as hard as I possibly could and lost track of the weight. Even then I just stripped line off and went right back to it. Felt REALLY good with a right handed baitcaster in my hands. Everyone told me that I would have to train my self with switching sides (coming from a heavy spinning rod user), but it felt pretty natural. Anyway, just thought I would let everyone in the world know that I had a blast with my first attempt at baitcasting. Now for the warm weather! Even better.........I haven't even used my Citica yet which has to be much easier. Was only hitting 20 yards maybe on my casts but I was pretty happy with that! Now the bad thing.......the baitmonkey is going to be riding my butt for some higher end baitcasting gear. :

flipping/pitching "open" water
I was doing this last year with a *** in the openings of the weed beds. I got blasted a few times but both times I lost the fish or was cut off. This year I'm moving to a baitcasting setup with 30lb Power Pro. In short.....worked for me except I didn't have the equipment to pull them out.
