Help choosing a bream/crappie spinning setup
I have the Trion Micro and it's awesome for gills and small trout. No problem spooling up 4lb line. I paired that up with the BPS glass ul rod and works just fine. No need to get an expensive outfit when going for crappie and gills.

Grease and Oil for Pflueger and Bass pro reels
Seriously lol? I looked that puppy over good last night and it didn't give me anything except showing me about backlashes, adjustments, braking, etc. It was just a fold out piece of paper. Should there be an actual book? I feel like an *** lol.

Grease and Oil for Pflueger and Bass pro reels
My citica came in yesterday. So pumped! Anyway it came with a small vial of lube. Does anyone recommend giving a shot of oil here or there on the citicas out of the box? If so what part should I give a quick lube to. Sounds like there is some rubbing with the cast control knob tightened all the way. Is that rubbing noise normal? I hate being a newbie with all these questions. But you don't learn if you don't ask! :

RIVER Smallie Thread
Same except I'm on shore because the creek is not very wide. Maybe 20 yards wide. Toss em up stream in the rapids and let her come down.....nails em. 8-)

St Croix Avid and G Loomis Spinning Rod Question
x2 I fish this same rod and it works great for plastics....both weight and unweighted. Fished a lot of plastics flukes, trick sticks, and worms with this rig. Actually fished spinnerbaits with success and buzzbaits as well. Jerkbaits.......see where I'm going. The only thing I haven't fished on this rig is crankbaits. Love this rod.

08, new lure or tactic
Cranks and Jigs...... Was a big worm/stick bait guy last year. Along with flukes. I want to get better at the hard bodied lures.

jiggin rod questions...
Red check out Falcon Lowriders over at ***.com My falcon came in yesterday (herm special) and I'm very pleased at the quality. Someone told me that they are kind of heavy compared to an Avid. But I disagree. There pretty darn close. Still a light rod with some nice backbone. Check out the Eakins special Lowrider over at TW. "LFC-5-1610 Eakins Jig Special Troy and Jim Eakins, top anglers in the Central Pro-Am for many years, helped us design this rod to fish his signature jig technique - a must-have when fishing deep clear water. Line Weight: 10-20" http://www.***.com/descpageCASTFALCON-FLRC.html 114.99 with no tax and free shipping. Pretty close to your price range.

Grease and Oil for Pflueger and Bass pro reels
Actually he directed me to contact BPS and Pfleuger. But I know how hard it is to get a direct answer from those companys. So if anyone has lubed up there Pfluegers can you give me some advice if a particuler lube has worked well for you?

Grease and Oil for Pflueger and Bass pro reels
Will do RW. I went there yesterday to check it out but didn't see anything about Bass pro or Pflueger stuff since he doesn't service them. I'l look a bit harder this time though. Thanks.

Grease and Oil for Pflueger and Bass pro reels
What do you guys recommend for grease and oil for the following. Spinning reels: Pflueger President and Trion Baitcasting: 30 dollar Tourney Special That tourney special needs some more lube IMO and I would like to get my two spinners in top notch shape before the end of March. Will use Reelmech for my Citica when that time comes.

$30 reel
My reel came in yesterday. Very small. But again I'm new to baitcasting so I don't know what it's comparable to. Only holds 90 yards of 12lb line. It is a good thing that I picked up a Citica to put on my Falcon because this will not work well for throwing spinnerbaits. Going to pick up a BPS Crankin stick to put this one on for my smaller cranks. All and all it feels pretty solid for 30 bucks. Can't complain I guess. I am glad that my Citica will be here tomorrow. 8-)

Check your Walmarts for cheap Yum stuff
Not sure Muddy. There has been new Riverside grubs that are hanging on the racks at walmart for 2 and 3 bucks a pack. I do remember hearing something about YUM and Riverside being together. Not sure though.

Check your Walmarts for cheap Yum stuff
Now I don't know why but Walmart has some YUM stuff in there 97 cent boxes alongside there Riverside selection. Granted there are only 5 tubes in the pack (maybe thats why) but that isn't a bad deal to someone who doesn't use there stuff a lot. Anyway check it out.

coffee tube
Regardless if they work because of the coffee or not, they are very nice looking. Mine came in on Sat and the "skirts" are very nice. I see them doing well in my creek for smallies.

Citica
Big reason why I picked the 100. ;D The thing that scares me???? I just called my wife and asked her where she was when she said that I could get it. She is at the mall. :'( Probably a pretty good bet that she is buying stuff to remodel the living room. :

Citica
First off I would like to say that my wife is amazing!!! After talking with Dave in PM and having him send me pictures of some citicas next to a rod, I have decided on the 100dsv version. Now back to the wife. She actually said that I could pick it up RIGHT NOW. With income taxes coming in soon she said why not. I think she may be sick. ;D But I'm not going to argue. Was going to wait. So props to my wife and thank you to everyone including RW for helping me out with my baitcasting questions.
-
Citica
Nice that is what I wanted to read. Thanks Dave. Wrestling between the 100dsv and the 200DPV. I have smaller hands as well. Mostly going to use my baitcasters for jigs, traps, and spinnerbaits. So trying to find which one I want is becoming difficult. Especially when looking at the two models. Different size and different gearing... :-/ It will be going on this rod.... Falcon LowRider XG Cast 6'6" MH/Fast "The Herm special". Thinking about just returning that BPS 29.99 reel that I ordered when it comes in. So confused... ;D
-
Citica
What are the differences in models? 100DSV, 200D, 200DPV, 200DSV? Thoughts on what ones are better for certain things.

Falcon LowRider XG Cast 6'6" MH/Fast Act
I have an Avid spinning rod and love it. But after my winter buying my funds are drying up ha ha ha. Purchasing the Lowrider at 109.00 was a lot more than I was going to spend originally. So the new Avids were out of the question. For now..... If I enjoy baitcasting at the end of the year.....than I'm probably going to move up to a Loomis or Avid with a Citica or Curado attached. But again before I start laying down the big bucks I want to make sure that I give baitcasting a good 4 months of fishing before deciding. Thank you everyone for your replies.

That is why I decided on that one. Thanks for the input.
