Texas Rig trick
Slide your line trough the loop in the wire, slide the rubber bobber stop onto the line... Thanks. One more dumb question. How do they stay on the line once you place them where you want them?

Slow day today.
Actually I thought the dark green color was from being in the shallows for a good period of time. Kind of like lake fish. The steelhead are a lot lighter in the lakes than when you catch them in the streams.

Nice finding last night
Been catching some LM still but haven't attempted to go back to that spot to see if there have been any more smallies creeping in.

Texas Rig trick
I picked up some sinker stops from Bass Pro in hopes of doing this as well. Dumb question......how do they work? They came in but I just threw them in the tacklebag because I won't be using them until next year. They came on some wires or something.

Fishing Jigs for smallmouth
I'm sure that the shipping is a killer though. They sell Gitzits at Dicks for pretty cheap and I don't have to pay the shipping.

Do I need Professional Help?
I have the itch for new stuff quite often. But my orders are low. Mostly 30-50 dollars every time. 6,000 in 6 months? That's insane to me. Be very confusing when trying to pick out stuff to take on the water. Me being mostly a bank fisherman that would just make my head hurt since I can't take everything with me. I'm starting to be content with my supply for the needs of my fishing spots. Starting is the key word. : I need to remember that most of the time fish will bite on taking just a couple different lures with you for a situation. Jig, powerbait, senko, spinnerbait. Most of the time that is enough.

Plastic Swimbait tips - swimming senkos etc
What about in open water with no weeds. Not talking just swimming senkos but swimbaits in general. I have a couple other shad shapped ones sitting in my box never used. They are very very thin though. Is this the time that I should be using a darterhead or a roundball jighead hook exposed? I guess I just need to get on the water and see what these baits can do. I guess having that one bad experience with my swimming senko spinning and turning kind of turned me off at first to these paddle tail baits. Even if it was my fault most likely. Thanks for the article George. I don't have any screw in weights but I do have some sinker stops from bass pro that I can use.

Plastic Swimbait tips - swimming senkos etc
Here is the link if anyone is interested in them. There are some cons like the eyes not staying on in hot temps but I decided to give them a whirl anyway. Been having huge success with flukes so it's only natural to try out the smaller swimbaits. I refuse to pay 20+ for the Basstrix. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewrainwormsbowfish.html

Plastic Swimbait tips - swimming senkos etc
Okay so I found some semi-knock off basstrix after reading an article on Tackletour. 7.95 for a three pack. Still steep but they look cool. Now I have fished the swimming senko before but it was twirling on the retrieve. I wasn't using a 5/0 EWG though. Will that stop the twirling? If not what will. I purchased some weighted 4/0 hooks for these Bowfin paddle tails. They said 5/0 but I'm going to try the 4/0 for the time being. Any other pointers how how to fish paddle tail type lures or swimming senkos? Fishing is calming down here in the North East so its time for me to start to get some info together on new baits for next year.

M F for soft plastics?
I bought a Avid 6'8" Medium Power Extra Fast action. I'm in love with it. :-*

Owner Wide Gap Plus Hooks - Awesome
To me the price on hooks is not a big deal. Paying an extra dollar compared to Gammys is not a massive difference.

Fall Patterns for Shorebound Anglers
If you can walk around the entire place that you fish than you may be able to get a pattern going. Obviously if the fish are shallow. I come across this with my dads pond. I can fish it deep from the shore because it's not that big or I can obviously fish it shallow. Like last week for instance fish were hitting all the way around the sucker on the drop offs where there were still some clumps of grass. I would say thats a pattern. Threw the same green pumpkin black flake Fat Ika at them the whole time. sidenote: The Ika is a lot more durable than a senko. Not by much but I still got four more fish than I would have with a senko.

Big Brookie....On a Jig!!!
Agreed. That's not a brookie but if it was that would be a monster lol. Caught a ton of stocked brookies this year and they don't even look close to that.

New guy here, some pics from yesterday
Yep, Kutless rocks. Apparently they're getting pretty popular too. Everywhere I wear that shirt or my Kutless hoodie someone usually says something about it, other bands I wear most people have never heard of. God bless brother. I agree they rock. Most people are shocked that christian rock music can be good. Anyway back on topic and I'm glad to see another christian brother on this board.

Have People Lost Their Minds???
Exactly. The only things I sell on Ebay are electronics because IMO those are the few things that you can sell without "giving" your stuff away.

Have People Lost Their Minds???
Seriously I needed to hear this. I almost went on a spending spree this morning. Lucky Craft Pointers and slender pointers were really calling my name. Bait Monkey has been strong this morning but I have fended him off. A couple times I almost pressed the "submit order" button but ended up closing my browser. I have four x-raps and since I'm not a huge jerkbait fisherman I should just be happy with those. Frog, you saved me from buying stuff that I didn't need and I salute you. 8-)

Have People Lost Their Minds???
I only have 2 feedbacks from e-bay sellers. That's why I said people need to start somewhere. But my experience from selling electronics in the past is that you better have 10 or more feedbacks to buy from me. Took me a month to sell my 360 because people with one or two bids were the final bidders and they never paid up.

Cranks for my situation
Thanks but to expensive for my blood. I usually hate fishing cranks. Only fished them a couple of times in my life. BUT I want to learn as much as I can. So that's why I want to stay cheaper for now. If I start having success than I may move up in the price range when it's worth it to me. Thanks for everyones advice. Going to pick up some Norman Mad Ns and some Rapala DT 6s. I actually forgot that I do have a Shad Rap in the xrap version. So that's a plus.

Have People Lost Their Minds???
Chances are that person will never see the 59 dollars. The winning bidder only has one feedback. Which means chances are that he just ran up the price on purpose with no intention of paying. I have sold a lot of stuff on ebay and people do have to start somewhere, BUT I usually won't let people with less than 10 feedbacks bid on my stuff because chances are 50/50 they won't pay and are just running the prices up on stuff. At least on electronic items.

Senko Question..
Big bass doesn't have to be a trophy bass though. Like I said.....20" bass are big bass up in my parts and a 3" senko will get them up on shore. "Trophy" is a releative term. What is a trophy in Wisconsin will not necessarily be a trophy in Texas. No matter what size your trophy bass is it would seem prudent to target them with something a little bigger than a 3" senko. Say a 4" senko maybe 8-) Targeting them than yes I agree. But if your just fishing to catch some numbers than don't be suprised if a big un gets on. I guess thats what I'm trying to say. Obviously my wife wasn't trying to hunt a trophy bass but just trying to catch something. Turned out the big ones love that 3" trick stick that day. I might add that I didn't catch jack during that same time with my 5" Trick stick. But my son and wife were whackin um. 8-)

Trick Worms
I'm not one for crazy colors in my plastics.....I'm a natural color man myself BUT the bubblegum 7" trick worms are awesome! 8-)
