  1. with the few warmer days weve had i started to get the boat ready for the water. while doing this i noticed the steering was really tight. what i found was the shaft that goes through the tilt tube the steering cable connects too is sticking(see pic). anyone know first of all how to remove the cable from the shaft that slides through the tilt tube? second, anyone have any ideas how to free up the shaft that slides through the tilt tube? thanks
  2. i was so happy about warming weather until i see theres a chance for snow this weekend. global warning is a mother.
  3. la cygne has an ok bite. rodney at BPS says kill creek is starting to come on.
  4. I called City of Olathe about this because I wanted to know when it was going to happen, and they didn't know anything about the sale and future closing of the lake/park. They did say that they are planning on closing the lake either late this year or early next to dredge it out. im finding the same thing. i noticed c.a.s.t. still had their date on the lake so i think the info was bad.
  5. ive never had a need for a cover, my boats have always lives in the garage. the current cover has spent 98% of its life in a canvas bag in my attic. i guess the holes are from dry rot. id run the cover as is but dont want a shredded piece of nothing for the gravel roads the boat will see more of this year.
  6. well, now im not so sure the cover doesnt have some rot. the cover has spent hardly any time on the boat. spending money for a cover tosses a wrench in my mad money fund. maybe BPS has a sale on them.
  7. nice looking ride. 68 mph is skipping.
  8. has anyone found any good ways to patch their canvas boat cover? i have maybe half a dozen holes in mine mostly baseball size. any ideas?
  9. IMO ...... 48-50 is when things start to wake up 55 is PRIME TIME i could be wrong but i dont see 55 degrees in 2 weeks. mid-april might be a better time to get a larger group on the water.
  10. water temp was 42 degrees yesterday per KDPW. at what temp does the fishing pick up?
  11. http://www.kdwp.state.ks.us/news/fishing/where_to_fish_in_kansas/fishing_locations_public_waters/region_5/bone_creek_reservoir hopefully it will be sunny and 60 the next 7 days.
  12. i have one of the Cabelas Tourny rods and its not bad other than IMO it doesnt have enough guides.
  13. that happens to rapalas too.
  14. i was there for a few hours yesterday and the fishing was still a bit slow. the north bank west of the hot water outlet was all i fished and only caught 3 fish. i used mainly 2 baits: lucky craft CB200 american shad and chompers 3/8 oz. football jig green pumpkin. good luck.
  15. i found this map. seems to be the best on that shows the creek channels. http://www.anglersfishinginfo.com/ks/bonecreek/bonecreek.htm
  16. you mean i dont have to drive back home afterwards?............lol hey im all for whatever. id just rather have better conditions on a piece of water ive never seen and most likely wont catch many fish if any 18" fish. a little heat in the water might be nice for the guys who dont fish the place 50 times a year.
  17. i think its also fair to ask whos willing to go under better conditions.
  18. my first tourny is the 8th at LaCygne. but, im going to be in vegas up to friday the 7th so i have no idea what shape im going to be in. i personaly dont mind missing an event for an all kansas get-together but i wonder how many guys are holding back due to the conditions. i hate to be a nancy lol but driving 5 hours to fish the hardest conditions you could imagine might not be a big draw. but either way, its up to you guys.
  19. i have cabin fever so bad i thought it was great. the only thing id like to see is a little time on baits/lines used.
  20. im all for doing this but not to be too critical, do you think it might be better to post-pone the meet until more desirable conditions? i personaly would be scared to death to have a small boat on a lake when the waters might not be 50 degrees. the lakes around here are still iced over. once again, sorry if i stepped on some toes.
  21. question: did your revos come well oiled? mine was dry as a bone when i got it.
  22. ebay had the revo s at $79 plus $8 shipping. not too shabby.
  23. i agree. i probably wont buy another stx. id rather add some more cash and buy a premier
  24. youll should do fine with either. training your thumb is 90% of the battle
  25. one thing ive noticed is with all the new posters the same question gets asked a lot.
