Not according to my local BPS. According to one of the Mgrs of the fishing dept, they had a meeting with Shimano early this year where Shimano asked them to "Look out for Shimano's interests" so they only do the over-the-counter free replacement for the first year. After that, it has to be sent back to Shimano...on your dime. i just took a Shimano Compre back to BPS, no receipt, the rod that was 18 months old, and had it replace.

fast line shock. id got up a few lbs in line weight and switch to ultra soft. edit: is the line really at fault?

Cedar is tough. the spawn was completely out of whack this year.

looks like i'll have to check it out and try to decide which i like best. do you think any of these models in 7' will be too tip heavy? no. but i would take a reel and store fish the rod.

i got skunked monday, but the water was so dirty you could walk across it. caught 11 on wednesday. most of the fish i caught wednesday were suspended in brush.

i break a rod on hookset when im 102, that baby is going on the wall. my father broke a rod on hookset last year and that rod now lives in my man cave. back to the OP: i like the Skeet rods i have, but i wouldnt order one off the net without handling one first. the ratings on these rods are a bit funny. i have no input on the All Star rods.

for 25 over the limit, you should get a ticket. JMO

SHIMANOS perform great, but they're styling isn't my cup of tea. (except for Cumuls, Cumara, and Crucial they get an A+) i have yet to notice their styling really. i have noticed i can feel a bite just fine with 8# test and long casts. i thought the Bucoo was tip heavy and not as sensitive as my Browning Midas rods. but, to each their own.

the rods arent bad, but IMO they are just too tip heavy. id really suggest store fishing the rod first.

id still love to find a post or article on how to tell if a rod is a good rod or not. how can I, in the store, tell what rods are good rods and what rods are bad rods?

id love for your friend to have that talk on this forum. please, schedule a time for this debate. we could sell tickets, buy you some good gear...........

cant your father, who wholesales fishing gear, tell you the ins and outs of the gear he sells? also, again, a popularity contest is never a good way to buy gear.
