  1. id swap the reels from rod to rod and see for yourself what the difference is.
  2. we all need to plan a day to invade Melvern or La Cygne. my father and i are testing the waters at Melvern saturday. the fishing should start coming on fast down there.
  3. that is olathe lake. ive never fished for them out there either.
  4. the old Risto Raps are still a go to bait for me.
  5. sounds like a good plan on the Pro 16. you could even get a Tracker up to 10 years old and most likely have a great boat. where are you being deployed too?
  6. i dont do anything to my gas motor. i myself use my TM to get my boat back on the trailer, i know others do not. wear shorts, worst case scenario youre a bit wet on the ride home. ill also note, watch the water in front of your trolling motor, there is heavy brush out in the middle of the lake where you would never expect it.
  7. that had to have been very hard to just leave your spouse there while you ran for your life.
  8. what are you throwing and what rod are you using? i use 10 lbs P-Line floroclear and use the reel for deep cranks. the reel is mounted on a dave wOO extreme 7' M rod. it casts the lightest baits a mile.
  9. getting hung up in the grass is a great pattern for me this time of the year.
  10. buddy tells me its been good there all year. B & J jigs he says.
  11. were you sitting in a bath tub? ;D ;D
  12. seems to be how fast the forum is moving..
  13. i like the Browning Medallion for $60. 250 frame size at a weight of 8.7 oz's and holds 140 yards of 8 lbs test. i did clean and relube mine before i put and hard use on the thing.
  14. I've gone to Gardner way too often this year... just too close to home. There are a ton of 11-13" bass. The biggest I've seen this year was around 3.5#'s. It really isn't that hard to go out and catch a dozen or more small guys in a few hours. I've heard there was a 7lber caught this spring, so there are a few biggens left out there... gardner is a great numbers lake. for myself, 18" bass is the max ive pulled out. i fished kill creek today. popping lipless baits through the grass is still a good pattern.
  15. i have noticed some posters make a living off busting the younger kids balls an a regular basis. shame on those younger posters for using the forum for what it was intended!
  16. i wonder if this thread falls into the religion category?.......
  17. Revo S on the flea market for $75. pm the guy and talk turkey, you never know what will happen.
  18. i read where RW said the Fuego was a great reel, but since im repeating what i read it might no longer be true.... :-/ :-/
  19. id love to have a few 7'6" rods, problem is, the ppl who made the early 90's bass boats never though about putting a rod that long in a rod box.
  20. I was throwing a Bass-X jig. Tried a brush hog, but they didn't seem to want that though. Might go out there tomorrow, but not sure yet. Catching keepers at Hillsdale is pretty amazing too! Good job! very true. if you do kill creek tomorrow youll probably bump into me. im on the fence between there and Gardner Lake. i found a very nice drop off at Gardner the other day.
  21. my Cumaras feel a bit quick compaired to others as well.
  22. youre buying a rod that will cost you at least $50 to receive the "lifetime warranty". i like the rods other than that.
