  2. It makes things tough but just go find the closest cover or structure to the weed line and you will find the fish. A lot of the times though, the fish will stay there and hold in the remnants around here. Why? I dont know. :-?
  3. Just because they are guarding fry doesn't mean they are on or near a bed. For example on Saturday at the CAST event around here there were fish guarding fry and there were no beds around them. They would just cruise around the shorelines. So you probably catch fish that are guarding fry and don't even realize it. If you put anything near the fish that resembled a sunfish or other fish it would go after it. We had a lot of fun sightfishing witht he Mattlures Bluegills. So I guess there is your answer.
  4. $50 says Burley has boxers like that.
  5. I'll get them up soon.
  6. It doesn't help, but it is a nation wide thing, and in the same exact spot as mine snapped.
  7. I have a 99 and while towing to Bronzeback Bombers house I realized the front of my boat was riding a low. So when I pulled up he asked if it was always that low. I get out and look and my hitch is 8" off the ground > (usually about 18-20"). Well, the frame snapped. The truck is rated to tow 5000 pounds (XLT,4X4, 4.0) and my tracker weighs not even half of that. Just rotted out, the mechanic said it looks like it was in the ocean for a couple years and someone just pulled it out (never in salt water, and when launching my boat the water never even comes up to the rim of my back tires). I started checking Ford Truck forums and this is becoming a common problem with Rangers. The frames are just rotting out! So be careful and pay attention.
  8. Complete 180. Last year it was a deeper grass bite around this time. But this year most of the fish are coming from 6" of water or less. Matt and I did good today (97, no wind, bluebird) in less that 6" of water under bushes and pads. And there is hardly any jig bite. >
  9. I have a 97 40hp Force. I just replaced the starter and that is the only issue I have had. Great motor, definatley one of the better ones out there. I know Bronzeback Bomber has a 40hp Force on his Tracker as well.
  10. The pic on the moon of the flag blowing. :
  11. I also boat captain for the RI Jr. Bassmasters and it wouldn't go in my well. A short fish is a short fish. And 1/4" is a lot to be short by. And I have never heard of a fish relaxing and gaining length, they usually always shrink because of stress in the well. :-/ I bet you will always keep that metal ruler with you from now on Bass XL.
  12. McClelland on a deep water jig bite, or KVD on the crank.
  13. They are acctually calling off school tomorrow in a lot of towns. 99% of schools don't have a/c up here. :
