Someone gets their feathers ruffled a little easy. I hope you report legit incidents and not just because people are to close to you. I was fishing docks one time and a guy called the cops and said I was fishing on his property and was too close to his boat. lol Don't think all guys with bass boats are tools. Although if they are both dressed up in tournament jerseys and fun fishing they are in my book. Next time just tie on a big c-rig sinker and take off some gel-coat. ;D

I will say that when Roland Martin made a show several years back on Cape Cod smallie fishing that his producer showed up to a tournament a few days before they filmed and bought a few big smallies off of guys after they weighed them in. You can only assume what happened after. And as for open water and depths, there seems to be no limit. I qualified for the FLW Eastern Divisionals last year by drop-shotting for smallies in 60-80'. My deepest smallies have come in the 100-110' range and they were suspended in about 90'.' Although guys trolling for lakers on Lake George in 80'+ catch both largies and smallies. It's all about learning how to use electronics.

In your area of the country where there are a lot more people fishing it may be nonsense but up here when our BASS and TBF organizations do not have 300 people and there are much fewer fishermen it makes sense. Less fishermen = less people buying fishing line. So the same spool of line can sit on a Wal Mart shelf or in a back room for years. I don't know if braid is effected but I know flouro's are. Some of the boxes that the line comes in will be dusty and look like they have been on the shelf for months. If they get a shipment of line in the fall then some of it will be atleast six months old by the time it is ready for use in the spring.

You and all your friends and kids are invited to do a little fishing at the RI DEM Carolina Hatchery. Date: Wednesday June 2, 2010 Time: 5:00 PM 9:00 PM Location: RI DEM Carolina Trout Hatchery. 13 Old Richmond Townhouse Rd. Directions: Rt. 138 to Rt. 112 South past Washington County Fairgrounds, Take a right at the new Fire Department building. During the flooding back in April 30,000 trout where washed out of their holding pens into a large pond that is full of large Trophy Bass. These trout will all die once the water temperature rises. When they die the ammonia in the water will kill everything. RI FLW/TBF members will be on hand to help, Berkley has donated all the bait and DEM staff will be working collecting the fish we catch and putting them back to their proper holding pens. These fish are starving and are biting everything. In just a couple hours 2 weeks ago we caught over 500 fish and relocated them safely. I hope to have over 100 volunteers all pitching in to Help Save the Fish so grab a pole and come on down. You will catch a fish, Guaranteed!

I know a lot has been discussed here about planting brush piles. But what do you guys think about planting brush piles before the off limit period on your home lake and then using them to finish second in a pr tour event? According to a couple of other sites, Scott Suggs did it to finish second on the latest FLW tour event. I just think that is bs at that level of fishing.

Yes, it is really nice to have a "special" place for "special" people As you can see, there are still some with not so nice comments.... Unfortunately, there will always be some that think that ONLY men can and should fish. I'm all for women fishing, but I don't see what is "not so nice" about the comments with the exception that it is just not what you agree on. My step mom and sister are avid fisherwomen and fish tournaments and even they agree that women should make the Classic the same way as men. Women would get much more respect in the sport if they had to compete and qualify for tournaments if they would compete on the same stage as men, and some do. If everyone is so equal and women want more respect in the sport don't take the "easier" path.

The only topwater bite I find is usually worth chasing is a popper for schoolies to bang out a limit quick or a buzzbait just above the veggies. Buzzbait = big fish

Yes, this just does not work at all. You will waste hours with slimy creatures and your thumb will be all chewed up. Super glue the head of the dipper so you don't spend $20 a day.

no one here is too attached to the fishing and outdoor shows on ESPN/ESPN2 and you all have Versus. I have read on four other boards that as of 2011 only the Bassmaster Elites will be on. They have decided to drop all other outdoor shows and focus more on things like the English Premier league. Rumor has it Zona is already working on things to get his show on Versus.
