Daiwa Fuego rods
I think they are. According to thee '09 Daiwa catalog, they are made from HVF graphite, Fuji SiC guides, Zaion reel seet, Air Foam grips, Lifetime Warranty. Same features as the Zillion baitcast rods.

online Revo schematic
If you're breaking it down, this series of photos will be helpful. It's an Inshore, but it's helpful nonetheless. http://www.bloodydecks.com/forums/fishing-reels/91795-ambassaduer-revo-inshore-rebuild.html

Working jerkbaits: which hand do you use?
What Red says makes sense. The argument that you need your power hand to crank may be valid when you're hauling in a tuna, but a bass - not so much. I know other right handers that use lefty reels.

Rat-L-Trap Type Baits
I recommend this lipless. Awesome bait. It has a nice action even at really slow speeds. And when it rests on the bottom, it rests on its nose at a 45 degree angle. http://www.yo-zuri.com/Products/ProdHardcore/HCDrum.htm

Very impressed with Yozuri hybrid
I've used 15lb for flipping. I didn't have a problem with it, but never had to throw it far. BTW, I don't use Hybrid heavier than 12lb, now. 12lb Hybrid breaks at 19.5 lbs, and 15lb Hybrid breaks at 21.5. To me, 12lb was much more manageable than 15lb.

Wildlife encounters
Twice I've had a near-sighted muskrat swim to my boat and act like it wanted to get in. I then suddenly waved my arms and yelled "booga booga booga" and it dove to the depths. I had a Northern Watersnake crawl up my outboard and coil around the linkages. I had a heck of a time getting that booger out. Friggin cormarants that roost in the cyrpess trees wait until you are nearly underneath then to crap. And when they do, it's like they are dumping a gallon of white paint into the water. The ospreys are scary. I'm waiting to have my scalp taken off. I haven't been attacked yet, but I think the day is coming. Here's a sign at a local park that has a good bass lake...

Have you ever had a run in with a Anti-Fishermen
Next time he does that, call his dogs to your boat. Entice them with a dead fish. That'll make him happy.

Working jerkbaits: which hand do you use?
When I use my right hand, I can't palm the reel. So I grip the rod by the butt with my index finger around the trigger. I find when I do use my left hand, I do better holding the rod the same way. It's just about the only time I don't palm the reel.

New Personal Best Bluecat
Blue catfish ROCK! You know, you can catch more convenient sized cats, if you try.

Very impressed with Yozuri hybrid
Alright! I like it, too. Maybe we can form an Yo-Zuri Hybrid Posse!

Working jerkbaits: which hand do you use?
For every technique I fish with a baitcaster, I hold the rod with my left hand, palming my reel, ans crank with my right. Cranking, ripping, worming, whatever. My grip almost never changes. But I can't seem to jerk a jerkbait well with my left hand. I always seem to make mushy jerks that seem too slow and don't make the bait do neat tricks. If I switch to my right hand, I can make nice, crisp, line slapping jerks. It's enough for me to want to get a dedicated jerkbait rod with a left hand reel. Am I nuts or does anyone else have this problem?

VA trip in the spring ideas?
I know. I'm just teasing. Chick River, Morris Creek and the Lake are my special places. My personal best came out of Chick Lake. When I die, I want my ashes scattered there. This is a VERY typical Chick Lake bass (not my PB)...

2009 Daiwa Fuego-A Spinning Reel
I messed around with them at the Richmond (VA) Fishing Expo. They feel light, and are super-smooth. The finish feels like a matte finish. Without trying it, it's hard to say how it would perform. But it felt and looked like a higher end reel. The Daiwa rep stated the Zaion is a kind of metal, but he stated the exact composition was "proprietary," which I'm sure is code for he didn't know. (I thought it was some sort of carbon fiber material, and I still do.) He stated it was as light at magnesium, and corrosion resistant. He stated it is a saltwater-safe reel. Daiwa's 2009 catalog suggests the same thing, since it is picture over a tropical flat (a tarpon or a bonefish in the background is all that's needed).

I'm in love
Cart, you should have just learned to cast your Revo, like almost everyone else has. "Advancing" their technology to adopt the brake system in the Pfluegers or BPS reels will might mean fewer backlashes for the un-practiced, but it will mean less performance, too. Speedworm, you went from a Revo S to a Citica 200E because of the brake? Have you opened the Citica and looked at the brake?

Must Have for 2009: 10" Anaconda
I don't think RW was high when he recommended it. A little tipsy, maybe.

Daiwa BC Question: Reengaging the clutch with the clutch bar
Nothing. It's just that I can now if I want to. Might come in handy when I'm flipping and knock my Coke over. I can upright my Coke and reengage my clutch at the same time.

Must Have for 2009: 10" Anaconda
14-7 tree branch. Beat that.

I'm in love
RW is more than just a little biased when it comes to Shimano.

Must Have for 2009: 10" Anaconda
This website is replete with people that buy more, and better than they need. And we're going to quibble over a couple of bucks.

Must Have for 2009: 10" Anaconda
The Annie has a unique action, unlike any twist-tail worm I've seen. The fin on the back ungulates exactly like, well, a fish with a long dorsal fin. That action looks slower and wavier than the twist-tail trailer on other worms. There aren't any other baits out there like it. It looks alive.

Daiwa BC Question: Reengaging the clutch with the clutch bar
I've noticed on my Zillions and Fuegos that you can reengage the clutch by pushing the clutch bar up. This is new to me. You can't do that with Revos. I'm wondering if this is any harder on the reel than reengaging the clutch by turning the handle?

REVO LICIOUS!
But its GOLD PLATED! GOLD PLATED!! If I get one, I can use it while I'm wearing my grillz.

REVO LICIOUS!
Come on, man. That's the blingiest bling of all bling. Guy using that probably has a gold plated Desert Eagle. Actually, I think it's a bit much, too. But I do like that handle.

Hummina, hummina, hummina... http://www.purefishing.jp/new/2009/01/30_1/index.html This color scheme has been seen, but the hardware sure is nice. http://www.purefishing.jp/new/2009/01/30_2/index.html

They are smoother. But better? Hmmm. I love those Zillions, but the STX is real hard to beat for $200.
