  1. Here is the biggest one I have caught it was 7lbs.
  2. Looks like you guys are tearing it up down these. Those are some nice looking bass.
  3. Nice hawg you got there.
  4. Simon, just let me know when you want to go snakehead fishing.
  5. Nice hawg you got there!!! I guess I need to try some of the Mattlures.
  6. Sam, I am up for fishing for bass, if the bite gets real slow and you want to fish for snakeheads we can, I prefer to fish for bass. I am looking forward to getting together to fish with you so I can learn some new techniques and secrets on bass fishing from you, I still have a lot to learn. I have only been targeting bass for 1.5 years but I have been fishing since I was a kid. I would like to schedule a snakehead outing one day where we get a few boats out and we all try to catch and kill as many as possible, it could be a lot of fun. Jay and his wife are still waiting on the baby, they are down to a month an couting. His wife does not want him to head out to far from home as the hospital ride from Dumfries to Alexandria could take some time wit traffic, never mind waiting for him to come back from a trip out on the Potomac.
  7. Andrew, I had these snakeheads cut through both mono and Stren 30lb microfuse braided line. If I was going out to target these I would use the steel leader, that way they won't cut your line. Keep in mind these are a lot of fun to catch, they fight extremely hard. As for the ones I caught yesterday, they are now water fowl food on the shore line, I cut their bellies open and gutted them.
  8. I have to agree the rage tail baits produce nice bass period. I have caught nice size bass on the shad, toads and the anacondas. I am hoping to catch some nice bass this week when I throw the space monkeys at a trophy managed pond. Steve you are the man, you have designed baits that are second to none. In my opinion these are the best soft plastic on the market. Thanks Steve for your hard work and dedication to provide these great soft plastic baits for us to use.
  9. The snakeheads stay in water that is typically less than 2.5 feet deep. They will hit any plastic that are thrown their way in the shallow water (they love the hydrilla mats and lilly pads) and are left motionless for more than a few seconds. So if you throw the bait, move it a little bit and then let it sit for a few seconds it will most likely will get picked up by a snakehead. I can tell you they are a lot of fun to catch, but they also have some nasty k9 teeth and you need to be careful handling them as I am sure that it would not be pretty if you got bit by one. They are like a pit bull and they do not like to open their mouth when you try to remove your hook and bait. I think the idea of a snakehead tournament would be a lot of fun and I am even thinking about approaching VDGIF about the idea. I know some areas that are holding quite a few of these fish right now that we could all go out and have some fun catching them. If anyone wants to go snakehead fishing let me know and I will be more than glad to take you out. 71Rig, My biggest snakehead was caught in the Occoquan near the Fairfax Yatch Club, he weighed 7 pounds. There are some big snakeheads out there to be caught and the fights are awesome.
  10. I would like to express my sincere thanks to Vekol (aka Jon) for helping me supply DVDs for the package that was mailed to fishhard (aka Shannon).
  11. Guys, last call on the request for assistance to fill a box for Andy. I am mailing Andy a package on Tuesday with some fishing DVDs, bass magazines, a Mike Iaconelli book and some snacks. I would wait longer but I have only recieved two responses to help one from a member in Tennessee and one from JCrzy4Bass and I do not want to delay the mailing when I am not getting responses back with offers to help. Thank you Jason for helping with the package for Andy. Thank you Al Wolbach for your help with the package for Andy. Thank you Vekol for your help with the package for fishhard.
  12. I just figured I would let you guys know that the snakeheads are plentiful down in the bays at Quantico MCB. I caught three and lost a fourth this morning, all on rage tail toads. Any time one of the toads was left sitting for more then a few seconds, the toad got picked up and inhaled by the snakeheads. My buddy also hooked two snakeheads on ribbit frogs, so we caught a total of five. We should get a group of guys together to go out one day to hunt them down, catch them and then kill them. These fish are NOT suppossed to be in the Potomac River. I have already caught six of these invasive fish.
  13. Sounds like a very good day, next time bring the camera and take some pictures.
  14. Nice fish.
  15. Absolutely not. X5!!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Congrats to your son, nice bass.
  17. 52 in a 35 in Virginia will get you a reckless driving charge, a higher fine then what you have to pay and a front seat in a drivers education course. Face it you screwed up, you get no sympathy from me. Suck it up, pay the fine, take the class and learn your lesson.
  18. I rig the toad on a 4/0 or 5/0 keel weighted hook and run them back fast enough so the legs are kicking up the water. The toads have been an unbelievable producer for me. Make sure you seperate the toad legs by breaking the tabs if they have them. I haven't used the craws yet but if you go to www.ragetail.com you can watch the videos on the products and get information on how to rig them.
  19. Thans Joe, it's the least I can do for these guys, they are putting their life on the line every day for us. I consider it an honor to be able to help them out with their requests.
  20. Thats one nice looking hawg you got there.
  21. Nice smallie you got there.
  22. I have used the both the rage tail toads and shad at night and they have caught me fish. They make a lot of commotion on the water and the bass find them without a problem.
  23. Fellow Northern Virginia anglers, AnglerNFuego (a.k.a. Andy) is stationed in Bahrain for 14 months. He has sent me an address and I am preparing a package to send him. As you may have seen in my other post I have already done this for two other soldiers one (Bassinsoldier) stationed in Iraq and the other (fishhard) stationed in Afghanistan. I have sent them packages with fishing DVDs, bass magazines, snacks and cookies. If any of you that have become friends and fished with Andy would like to donate please let me know. I will cover the cost of shipping of the package or packages to him. Thanks guys, Ron
  24. I have done really well fishing with the Terminator spinnerbaits.
