  1. There's one born every day.
  2. There is nothing wrong with your tackle. It's your head. Mindset has everything to do with it. Get your head on straight and you will catch more. Look at yourself. you are beat before you arrive. Come on,
  3. Welcome...
  4. Trying to reason with a woman was the first and most deadly thing you did.
  5. Starters do not fire the motor. There can be many things when it comes to electrical that can cost a lot of money. Have a mechanic check it out before you by. Could he have been talking about a stator? Different part from a stater.
  6. Depends: Has the lake changed? Water clarity, depth. How many saw you catching them and what flite and number did you draw. I would go if it was me
  7. I have to tell yall about this, it happened this evening concerning the Academy in Lufkin, Texas. I got to my buddy's home on Sam Rayburn on the way to Toledo Bend. We were checking out our equipment for tommorrow's tournament on Toledo Bend. I discovered both T/M batteries were going bad. Took them out of the boat and drove the 35 miles to Lufkin and carried the batteries into the store. They are both the large Stowaways. I told the girl that they were both bad. One was purchased 10-06 and the other 11-06. She informed me that they only had a 12 month warranty. I thanked her and told her I was going to pickup two new ones and would briong them back to her. As I walked over to the battery section I stopped at the managers desk and ask him if they did in fact have only a one year warranty. He said yes, and after we talked fishing for a couple of minutes he said " Are you fishing that tournament tommorrow?" I said yes and he said that he would go ahead and exchange them for me. He did and I walked out with two new batteries at NO CHARGE. His name was John. If any of you are in the Lufkin area, shop there and tell John that you read this and just wanted to say hello. Never met him before and only spent maybe 5 minutes with him. That is one of the nicer things that anyone has ever done for me. THANK YOU ACADEMY
  8. Unfortunately some will cheat you for a plaque. *****DISGUSTING***** Father was setting a great example for his son. He will probably be in prison before he turns 21.
  9. Maybe one a year. Don't remember the last one. None of any size. If you fish deep water you need to learn how to fizz a bass's air bladder. It will help the survival.
  10. Sure Life Please Release Me formula is what I use. You bet it makes a difference. It is not a cure all. You must keep your pumps running to recirculate the water and ice to keep the temps down. It is required that a formula be used in most tournaments and is even required in our club's monthly tournaments. They are an advertizer on this site and are great people to do business with. I am in no way affilated with them. Just know a good product when I see the way it works. IMO
  11. You might have the water authority to check it out. It illegal to treat or add anything to the water without a permit. Even if it is a sewage leak or other problem someone could be liable. Get it checked out or at least let someone with authority know.
  12. Here's some more: Have a very wealthly family or very close friend that is If married, go ahead and file for divorce If a girlfriend tell her to take a hike before she tells you Get a cat or small dog(You will need the company) Be able to speak to groups(Using correct grammer) Get your teeth fixed if they need it( They must be White) Pay cash for a $50,000.00 bass boat(No one will give you one) Pay cash for a motor home(You won't be able to make the payments) Entry fees alone will run over $70,000.00 a year(The Elites) Figure twice that for travel and lodging (A year) I'll list more next week when I get back from my tournament. I'm fishing three hours from home and the gas alone is going to cost well over $200.00 for the tow truck and boat. This is just a monthly bass club tournament. It is one day only so I will not be spending the night. If you are still interested and can live with my quotes and the others above, by all means jump in and you better be ready. Good Luck! **********If you are not in shape, you better get yourself in shape. The rigors of fishing each day, driving all night, eating out of a sack, and no sleep will tear you down in a matter of weeks************
  13. Walking the dog is a technique that allows the top water bait to dart back and forth(side to side) on retrive. Cast out the lure, keep your rod at any angle you like, keep about a foot of slack in your line and jerk the rod in a short caydence two to three or four at a time. You are actually only jerking the slack out each time not the lure. Let pause and repete. This is easily achieved with a topwater lure that tail sinks at about 30*; however, you can learn to do it with others as you learn. Examples would be the Zara Spook or my favorite the Lucky Craft 100 Sammy.
  14. If you are chipping the paint you are fishing them where they need to be fished. Quit gripeing and enjoy the fish you are catching.
  15. I hold steady pressure on the fish and will move toward him. If I can reach him I will, otherwise it is the luck of the draw if he will unwrap.
  16. Any charger will work. If it does not have an automatic shutoff keep the levels in the battery checked often.
  17. Nice going Glenn. Now be alert and watch out for the rebirth of the hellicopter lure.
  18. I have a 565 on my boat with the transducer mounted on the outside. If you tune it it will even show you strands of hydrilla growing off the bottom when you are sitting in the middle of a grass bed. Have not owned a Lowrance.
  19. This year due to my health I have not fished as much. I am over it now and back with a vengance. Leaving this afternoon for a tournament on Toledo Bend.
  20. Try a weightless Brushhog.
  21. Rising water after the spawn. Here's how I go at it: Pick an area of the lake. If you fished it during pre spawn and the spawn the fish will move back out in stages the same routes they came in. If you followed them and learned where they bunched up it should be easy to work your way back out on the flats outside the spawning areas all the way to the first drops, out the drains to the creeks all the way to the river where they will set up in their summer patterns. The falling water temps could really turn them on. I would pick several pockets that had active creeks. Fish the outer points first working your way back paying paticular attention to the secondary points. If you are struggling to get bites move to the back of the pocket and fish the bushes and any creek bends that you can find in 2-5' . Back means all the way until the T/M is stirring up mud. Fish frogs, traps, S/B, plastics and be aware that the major bite could be between 10:00 and 3:00. Work your way out and try to find the first drop(It may be only a foot or two) and work it over. Wear out the creek channels. I would cover water quickly only slowing when I got bit. Do not spend a lot of time in one place. Cover as much as you can in a days time. Hopefully you will catch fish. In a days time you should have checked 5-8 pockets. Make notes where and when you caught fish and expand on the area the next day. If the bites were coming on the major points and secondary points it should be an easy day. You could spend the day running points. If the bites were in the back of the pockets forget the points and start running to the backs of the coves. It's usually pretty easy to figure out what's going on. It just takes time and getting the first few bites to let you know.
  22. Yes, and the tournaments here in Texas they both can be outside the mouth. I have weighed fish that slapped at the lure and were hooked in the tail. Perfectly legal. The rule is in so people do not rig up a big treble and ****** them off the bed.
  23. I have been here since September 15, 2007 and have yet to have one problem with anyone. I try to follow the rules, respect people, reply as if I am talking with them in person. Glenn, I think you and all the mods do an outstanding job with the site.
