  1. Catt, I was keeping up with your problems until I had one of my own. What's the status? You going to be OK? Hope for the best. Best of luck...
  2. About 5" on a baby brushhog in watermellon/red.
  3. My father's side of the family came from England. My mother's side came from Ireland . They settelled in Anniston Alabama and sometime in the 1850's migrated to Texas. One of my grandmother's(Have no Idea how far back) kept a daily diary from the early 1700's when they came over on a sailing ship. It was a 39 day voyage. Written in the old english version. It is on loan in a museun in Nacogdoches, Texas(The oldest town in Texas).
  4. in some states, they make you pay extra if you want to wet two lines at a time Do you mean that if I am fishing more than one rod at a time I must pay extra? Please explain...
  5. Well thats really not a fair try. I put some on A spinning reel and some on a Bait Caster, and used them for about a month. Wasn't impressed, especially on the spinning reel, lot's of memory and coil. I used the same reel ( I have 2 Presidents) with Cabela's proline much more sucessfuly, which is the line I have been using for years. Cajun Red just didnt add up and cost twice as much :-[ Just did not like the way it looked in the water. Actually I am using the rest for backing. It is easy to see under the top line.
  6. Confidence in anything that will help me locate and catch fish whether it is name brand or a knockoff. I am partial to a few: Hummingbird Minn-kota AbuGarcia Allstar Falcon American Rodsmith Mercury Zoom Gene Larew Bill Lewis Academy Bass Pro Shops
  7. My year in review: One neck operation One hernia repair One right shoulder surgery Still fished: 13 Club tournaments One top six Three Bass-N-Bucks One Macdonalds Big Bass Splash Two other Big Bass Tournaments Caught lots of fish, won a little money Had car wreck two weeks ago Had neck refused last Friday Outlook for 2008: Priceless
  8. The Houston Boat Show just finished up. It is huge. Over 500,000 people attend. They had over 500 bass boats on display, plus the run of the larger boats. They had a display with a new design corvette hooked to the "Corvette" boat. It had a corvette engine under glass and was something to look at. Not something I would buy, but I bet it sells. Actually had the corvette enblem on the side of the boat. If I can find a picture of it I will post.
  9. Mine would have to be Cajun Red Line. Bought it, got it spooled up, thought about it, took it to the creek, looked at it in the water, went home ,took it off, and threw it in the trash.

  12. I am a very careful driver. That being said I was injured by a driver that ran a redlight last night returning from the lake. Truck is messed up thankfully the boat was not scratched. It is still up in the air as to whether the driver is going to be charged with DUI. He was removed from the scene in a patrol car though.
  13. I am 6'0" and 170lbs. That's got to be the worst abuse of a human body I think I have ever seen. Going to throwup now...
  14. Congrats on your catch. It is one of my favorites also. I make the trip from Houston 4-6 times a year.
  15. I think it is a bad idea. It will become an enless back and forth banter of who should or should not be and endless streams of nonsense of the same...If you want to nominate someone each month for doing an outstanding job, get the mods together and a panel and elect one according to their proven merits. It should be someone than dedicated their time to help a worthy cause ...NOT FISHING MERITS
  16. LM Fork, Falcon, Amistad, Rayburn, Toledo Bend-I have fished them all, including Sugar, Guerrero, El Salto in Mexico.
  17. The issue here is age. Most sponsors do not want to enter into a contract with a minor. In all brutal honesty, a sponsor won't usually consider a youth till they make it to the JWC's. This is the route I would take if I were you... but be prepared to have your parents handle the details and contracts. I think it is great for the 11-15 year olds to want to line up sponser ships...Remember the most important thing. You are not liable for your actions and you cannot sign a legal, binding document. Go stay in school and get an education.
  18. My wife and I have been together for 19 years. I help with all house work and even go shopping with her. YES shopping with her...Never, ever has she caused me to miss or cancell a fishing trip. Our club tournaments are schelduled out for the next 12 months so she knows that I will be fishing those and she has no problem with me schelduling other tournaments. What ever I spend on fishing she knows that she has free rein to do the same on any items she desires. She will go occasionally but not often. If she can't lay in the back of the boat she is not interested. I never have to ask but I always check to see if she has planned anything for the weeks I decide to fish that are not on the calender.
  19. The more you use it the better the braid will act in you hands. Just remember it is not for everything. Stay versital...
  20. Might be worth a try with a c-rig out in the deep water, especially this time of year and concentrate on the deep brushy areas. You might be catching the 7lbers. I fish Belton and Stillhouse some. If you have a map PM me and I will mark some places I have caught fish for you.
