I wish I was. they are still predicting 3-5" here with higher amounts in a few places.Even saying it will be thundering in places while snowing. Havn't seen or heard that in a while. Strange though, they are only predicting 1-3" in the east Texas area. Saturday is supposed to be clear and cold. Gonna give it a try. Have not fished during a snow fall in many years. Gonna be interesting. Hardest thing will be the ice buildup in the reel and on the guides. Anyone have any suggestions to counter act that? Bass-N-Bucks has cancelled their tournament for Saturday due to the weather. That's a first. Jack

I have the MK Riptide 24v. on my Skeeter. It has never seen salt water. I was told the paint, seals, and all the connections had extra protection. I have never had the first problem with it and have run it hard for four years.

Unless we get enough to cause road closures I'm going about 10:00 Friday morning. The only thing that may cause a problem is up and down the ramp. I have a 4X4 so I think I'll be ok.

Good idea, our high for Friday is 38* and that is right after midnight tonight. They have been preparing the roads since about 2:00 today. Not sure how you prepare a highway that's 150' in the air though. Probably better to just close them up and tell everyone to stay off them, but there is always some idiot with a beer in one hand that's sure he knows better.

Lamar University in Beaumont Texas cut there football program back in the early 90s. The company I worked for lost a ton of money due to the fact that the owner was one of the chancellors that voted to cut the program. Lots of our largest clients were big backers for the football program, they were plenty p^&sed at him when it happened and took their business elsewhere. Times are so hard down here now that they are starting up their program again for 2010. Got to bring the big boosters back into the program. People don't realize how much the university can lose when they p%^s off the big money boosters. Any university without a football and/or a basketball program is just a second tier facility. IMO.

The TV is about right. 50" Plasmas are all over Houston for 599.00(They ain't off brand either). For another 199.00 they furnish the mount and come out and put it up on the wall for you. I'm thinking very seriously about getting me one. Frys has the laptops in that price range to.

My neighbors and I use to be like the Griswalls trying to out do each other. It was a two day job starting the Friday after Thanksgiving and usually getting everything up and on just about dark on Saturday. After the death of our daughter in August of 08 none of us have done a thing. Wanda and I told them to go ahead, but the four houses have been lightless since. We wish they would go ahead and decorate and have told them to, but so far none have. It's boring without it, but one of them needs to make a move. I've been tempted to put one of our deer out just to see what happens, but we will be gone this year so I guess I will just wait and see what happens. None of us have any children at home now. We just did it for the fun.

They fell around 7:30 this morning while conducting repairs. Fell to a lower section, no idea how far they fell. Both sustained NON life threatening injuries according to the Dallas Morning News report.. Arlington fire department is up there now trying to get them down. Both are expected to survive. Talk about lucky!!!

Naturally I'm headed for Sam Rayburn Friday morning to fish Friday afternoon and Saturday. Hope I can get there and back. Houston is preping the freeways and expecting it to start around noon on Friday with accumulation. 80% chance up at the lake. At least I won't be worrying about pressure from other boats.

The more stuff built on a reel is just another thing that you could have problems with. I'm not a fan of the flippin switch or the twitching bar. Just get you a good reliable reel and get comfortable with it. You will be money and fish ahead. Jack

What makes you so sure they are bass. Could be anything. If they are whites, crappie, or any other type of fish that may be why you are not catching them. Like in the picture above they probably are not bass at all. Bass are structure, cover oriented and most of the time they relate to something. Even when they suspend it will be out over a channel, hump, tree, point, or some other type to focus on.No way to tell.
