Thanksgiving is coming
Dang Catt, how am I going to wait after reading this. Mouth is watering just reading this. Thanks, I guess, now I have to leave for the lake and will have this on my mind the whole trip. Jack

Wow
Not surprised at all and sure none of you are either. Eleven months and eleven days to keep the program clean(As far as we know), that might be a record. Will be interesting to see if Kiffin waits to suspend or release. Heck he just might wait until after a bowl game. Would not surprise me at all. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to single them out. All universities sweep crap under the rug daily. Everyone is out to win(Can't blame them), at all cost. If you can produce at a high level you can get away with just about everything. Stupid is as stupid does. A gas powered pellet gun. Go figure.

Some thoughts on hook removal
I to learned it when Glenn posted a while back. Wish I had known it sooner. Made me think back about all the fish I had just cut the line on and released. I seriously doubt that the hooks rust out quickly enough to help the fish. Makes you wonder how few actually survived when using the cut line method. I'm sure many more survive with this newer method. Everyone should know it and make an effort to remove all the deep hooks. I too, use the hemostats. Just makes it so much simpler. Thanks for posting it again. Jack

Do's and Don'ts of Co-Angling
Be on time Know how to use a net or be able to lip fish Abide by the rules of the boat and tournament Be courteous, or firm, but be ready to stand your ground if you are sure you are right Pay the agreed fee for gas, oil, ice, etc. If you happen to stick a treble hook between my shoulder blades( or anyone else you happen to draw), (Or anywhere else I or someone else cannot get to), have the know how, and be man or woman enough to remove it. I can live with that. Jack

berkley vanish transition fluorocarbon
Here we go again. Wonder how long it takes to lock this one up. The general consensus among most on this site is that it breaks easily(Knot), is hard to manage, and has too much memory. There are a lot better lines out there. Just thought I'd throw that out there before the mods see this. It's been beat to death a jillion times.

Dawson Marine Files for Bankruptcy
Yes they did. the company officially closed the doors yesterday at 6:00pm. They had a ton of inventory from what I heard. Skeeter will have fewer and fewer dealers that they can send the boats to. This will go right back up the line. Heck, they may all be in trouble before this is over. Can you see us all in innertubes and oars?

Jacobs Out at Genmar
Irvin Jackobs, depending on who you talk to has either resigned or been forced to resign. This was posted on another site. The court said in light of his comments pertaining to the sale it was in everyone's best interest that he resign. Whether he resigned or was forced out is a matter of argument.

Dawson Marine Files for Bankruptcy
The Beaumont Enterprise is reporting that they have filed and tomorrow will be their last day in business. Wesley Dawson was a great guy. They had locations in Jasper, Beaumont, and Houston. Sad to see it come to this and I'm sure there will be many more before all this mess straightens itself out. Hope he lands on his feet. Jack

Wow?
Fox news is just like all the other news outlets. They have an ajenda that they wish to promote and will print, voice, manufacture, add, or delete most anything that will steer a listener in their direction. Just sad the news has come to that.

Your biggest fish.
12.4 Caught on a live shinner fishing with a guide on Orange lake in Florida back in the 70s. No drama, just well roped it in.

Sam Rayburn Update from Nov. 5-8 Fishing Trip
Well it was a great report. The weather will change down the road and the bass will start the move out to deeper water. All you have to do is know where they are now and when the weather starts south, just get on the trolling motor or outboard and follow them out. All the way to the river ledges if it cools down that much. Personally I wish it would, so they can bunch up in the usual spots for this time of year. When they are set up like this everyone catches them and it makes it that much harder to seperate from the field. Give me the colder, deep fish anytime. That knocks out half the field(Me included at times), but it makes it a little easier to draw a check.

Burying motor - anything special to look for
Most dealers stock repair manuels for the motors they sell. You should be able to pick one up there.

Rededicate yourself. Attack each body of water as if you have never seen it. Map study, and plenty of it. Tackle preparation Put the blinders on and get after it. Good luck, Jack

Sam Rayburn Update from Nov. 5-8 Fishing Trip
Thanks, I will. I've got it on my mind to fish the region 45 American Bass Angler qualifer out of Mill Creek Park this weekend(Sunday) or another that is out of San Augustine Park on Saturday. Heck, I may fish both. Jack

Burying motor - anything special to look for
Dude, if you could see what I've run my motor through you would die. I've hit everything that can be hit and have run it aground at high speed. It is none the worse for wear. The only thing to watch for is the temp. If there is a concern, drop the lower unit and replace the water pump impeller. Otherwise run it like you stole it. You will be fine. Yes, its a fact I just went through a total rebuild, but it was from a broken ring, nothing to do with anything like you are going through. Good luck, Jack

Sam Rayburn Update from Nov. 5-8 Fishing Trip
You can bet I will use it this weekend in the tournament Saturday. That is probably the most detailed report I've read in a while on this site. Problem is it's been read by several others I'm fishing against so it's no secret now. Should be a slugfest come Saturday. Jack

Sam Rayburn Update from Nov. 5-8 Fishing Trip
Sounds like ya'll had a great trip. Glad I could help you out. I was pretty sure those fish would move back, but wanted you to check out the mouth before you hit that area in the back. Good job, and congratulations on figuring out the fish. Jack

How bout them Cowboys!!!!!!
Romo will revert to Romo. Anybodys guess as to what that will be. Actually I like the cowboys, it's Jerry I cannot tolerate. So they have to suck as long as he's in charge. Jack

How bout them Cowboys!!!!!!
Cowboys suck!

Gluing trailers to jigs?
Never use glue. I fish the Oldhan Trailer Hitch jig and have never needed to glue. It might be the package you are trying to put together. Some mate up better than others. If I were to glue a trailer, it would only destroy the current trailer when making a change. Jack

Gander Mtn heads up
Thanks for the heads up. I will get by there today and pick up a few. I normally never shop there, but that's too good to pass up.

Lake Fork Plastics?
I like the fact that the worms have the rings on them. I have always been a fan of the "Ring worm" type of plastic. Many manufacturers got away from this design and they were becoming harder to find over the years. Plus I think the rings move a little more water and that helps in off colored water.
