  1. Hopefully it will be messy enough that the four letter sports company will either change it or do away with it for next year. I am all for change if it is for the better, but the four letter company just throws stuff(Was that a nice enough word?)up against the wall way to many times to see if it will get ratings. It's not just fishing either. The famous four letter company just ruins it for me. I have not watched their sports show in over four years and see no reason to start watching it again. The crew that runs the show is only about furthering themselves and grandstanding the sports news. The ONLY time I can bring myself to tune in is when they have a college football game I am interested in watching. I'm done now.
  2. Yes, and according to Catt this morning, we have two of them parked our(Catt's) spots. Might need to go out and park just close enough to give them a little shove. Elias is on one and Zell is fishing another.
  3. I get it. You had the "Never Could Happen To Me" syndrome. Lucky you are here to tell the tale. I may not wear mine all the time, but it is within reach. Now go purchase a good one, not the inexpensive type(What IS Your Life Worth?), and attach it to your kill switch(You Do Have One Don't You?). If not don't even think about going back out without both. Ya'll are very lucky, you have a second chance, don't blow it. Jack
  4. Some very good replies. QUESTION: Why in the heck would you want to dry fire a gun in the first place? The only time I can think of a reason would be done by a gunsmith after assembling the trigger mechanism. And this would take place on the bench before it was installed.
  5. I still use the balance beam. It's worked for years for me and I just hate spending all that money for an upgrade. JMO.
  6. Sounds like BS to me. Not possible to get anywhere near that much water through a vent tube unless the boat was under water. Might want to get another opinion. I'll vote for the quality of today's gas, condensation, and lack of maintenance, water seperator, and fuel treatment. Skeeter does a good job rigging the boats and would be very aware if they had a problem like that.
  7. Thank you very much. Jack
  8. Not sure why you are worried about the slow down in the fall with the water temps in the low 60s. The fish here will kill a trap in 55-57* water. You can't crank it fast enough to get it away from them. We consider mid 50s water to be prime crankbait(Trap) tempertaure. Another thing for you guys up north. If you get an early snow with the water temps still on the warmer side try a buzzbait. They will jump all over one when it happens here. I've had it work up in North Alabama to. Ya'll are worrying way to much about forcing a season. We have literally killed them at first ice out in the spring to. Break the ice at the ramp and go find an area that allows you to throw a crankbait up at the edge of the ice and you will get bit. Good luck
  9. WHAT? Not completing an order. You are a stronger man than I.
  10. White White/chartruse Black Sexy shad White/gold/W/gold filler Red/Orange Blade combinations are: Nickle Willow/Willow Nickle Willow Gold Colorado/Nickle Willow Gold Willow/Willow Gold Willow Nickle Turtleback Gold turtleback Nickle Indiana Gold Indiana Gold Colorado/Nickle Willow A killer color for me in this area is the red spinnerbait with a gold/nickle willow blade combination I fish the lighter colors in the clear water and the brighter colors in off color water. I will also take a lighter and smoke the blades to cut down on the brightness of the flash.
  11. thanks Catt...Where are you buying your skirts?
  12. Berkley "Gig Game" green Fluro (As long as it is not Vanish) Braid: Power Pro or suffix You can also try the KVD line/lure conditioner to help with line management
  13. Jig: Black/Blue, Brown, Camo, all work well in this area. Spinnerbait: White, White/Chartruse, Sexy Shad, White/Gold strands, White/Red Strands...If you use two colors try to keep the darker color on top. Nothing in the water swimming has a dark belly and a lighter color back. It makes a difference for me. I'm going to watch this thread. I am looking for a new outlet for skirts.
  14. The fish will let you know real quick whether either one will work for the day. Don't put all your eggs in one basket . It could be that neither will be the ticket for the day.
  15. James, you need to get in the boat with him. He does offer trips. You will learn more in a half day on the water with him than a thousand post will ever tell you. Plus he will keep you in stiches. Jack
  16. Product knowledge Know where it is located At least be able to carry on a conversation(Not necessarily about fishing) with customers Honesty, Integrity,
  17. I filed mine in 2006 online. They sent me a letter asking for my doctor records I gathered them up and hand delivered them I was approved in 43 days Never talked to a lawyer or anyone else from any government agency
  18. I have been to several shows and they are amazing. you will know that people can fly.
  19. Well, since it's 26 miles from my front door I will be there. Going to be a big party. Lots of entertainment to go along with the fishing. I have a couple of empty bedrooms if anyone needs a place to stay.
  20. Catt, it's called a hacksaw. Use it and reinstall the end cap. LOL.
  21. Always use a fuel stabilizer. It is cheap insurance. If you are planning to run the fuel you have in your tank, you need to treat it along with any additional fuel you add. You allready know there is water in the tank, so get it treated before you try to run the boat.
  22. Water will not only cause it to stall, it can cause engine failure. If you do not have a water seperator system installed on the boat you might want to think about putting one on it. Reguardless of what a station tells me about the gas they distribute, I always run a fuel stablizer. Without a test kit and knowing how to check the gas for ethanol, it's a crap shoot whether you do or do not have the ethanol mixture in the fuel they are selling.
  23. Well, just let me know and I will tell you what I have working, if anything. I want to spend a lot more time there and I certainly want to get back over on Toledo with Catt and Pat. I have Catt's rainsuit and I know he needs it.
