World records live VS. artificial????
Actually, I disagree. We throw so many lures/baits that bear ZERO resemblence to anything alive to disprove this statement. Crankbaits look nothing like an actual fish. What's a Berkley Beast supposed to be or a sweet beaver or any other number of lures that look like nothing that actually lives in the water that the bass does? What anglers are doing is trying to trick a fish into striking out offering in order to hook them. Also, there's a big difference between fishing with live bait and catching dinks and fishing with live bait and catching hogs.

Ax-Men Season 3
Are you kidding me? Ax Men is awesome. Swamp loggers is good too. If you want to see garbage on TV then watch the regular networks. Bachelor, biggest loser, Nanny shows, wife swap, etc. Or worse yet MTV/VH1. Teen Mom, the dating shows with the "stars" (Brett Michaels, etc), awful, awful stuff. Most everything on the history channel is good!

Operation Lop-down commences @ 09:00 New Year's Day
I'll be working out more in the new year also. I've packed on a few extra pounds over the last year or so and need to get rid of them. The best advice I can give you is to watch your diet (eat more often, but less at each meal). When I really got serious about getting in shape I started eating like 6 times a day, but I never really had a full meal. Add cardio to that and you'll start dropping weight fast. Lifting will help, but not nearly as much as cardio. One thing to consider on the lifting (I actually didn't do too much of it) is to use lighter weights and add more reps so that you can get your heart rate up for a longer period of time.

Husky Jerk and X-rap comparison
If you really get into jerkbait fishing you'll find the subtle differences between brands can lead to large differences in catch rates. Husky Jerks, X-Raps, Rogues, Pointers, etc are all a bit different and some may work better one day and another the next.

Barb vs Barbless
Never had an issue going barbless. If I'm fishing with my son (he's 4) then all hooks get the barbs crimped. Easier on the fish, easier to remove the hook and release the fish, etc. Haven't noticed any drawbacks. I'd rather take a chance losing a fish than having him get hooked past a barb. I don't even see how it's a question.

Crankbait Rod
I don't know of a good one in the price range posted so I refrained from posting. My crank rod is a BPS crankin stick that I got for like $30. I really like it, but the poster will most certainly be able to get a better rod for 100-150 so I felt no need to share what I have.

Crankbait Rod
- NFL Question- What's worse?
The answer is clear. Whoever loses to the Lions deserves the award.- Home Brew Kits
He's likely exaggerating a bit or using HUGE bottles. $15 a bottle would be over $700 for ingredients for a 5 gal batch. A typical 5 gal batch can cost as low as $20 (for extract, all grain would be cheaper) and makes 2 cases.- Home Brew Kits
Go here http://www.northernbrewer.com/brewing/starter-kits and buy their better basic starter kit. Then go here http://www.northernbrewer.com/brewing/starter-kits and add your ingredient kits to your order. Any specific questions can be answered here http://forum.northernbrewer.com/- Do you consider "live" bait cheating?
And he would have per the rules of BASS. If BASS allowed live bait and he won then he wouldn't have cheated.- What they fail to tell you about cranking
Again, if you put more weight in "records on the books" then shouldn't we be religiously following Clunn or KVD or Skeet? Why would you care about Elias who wasn't and isn't as dominant from a tourney wins standpoint as the three mentioned earlier? I'd agree with this, but would apply it just as much to the pro's as I would to anyone else. Why would the pro's give out all of their secrets in a free interview? If a pro can charge for a seminar then why would they give it away for free? Wouldn't they have an interest is a little misdirection to protect their edge? I do. If the information is correct and relevant then it doesn't matter if it comes from Joe Schmoe down the street or from KVD himself. I'm not going to poo poo someone because they don't fish professionally.- What they fail to tell you about cranking
Following that to its logical conclusion we should all be following Clunn in using the same power and action rod and gear ratio reel for all of our fishing. No? His stats beat Elias's so shouldn't we all be doing what Clunn does? Personally, I'll listen to anyone who seems knowledgable about a topic and will question what they say and see if it can be applied to making me a better fisherman. Why else would you be on this forum? Because we're pretty much all just "1 computer with keyboard + internet forum ".- Do you consider "live" bait cheating?
Cheating at what? When I'm fishing, I'm interested in having fun/relaxing/basically just enjoying my time on the water. If using live bait enhances that; then how could it ever be considered cheating? Live bait is just one more tool in an anglers arsenal and it most certainly isn't "fool proof" or "bowling a strike everytime". I say quit being judgemental (thinking that you're better than live bait fishermen) and just relax and have fun. You'll likely enjoy yourself much more if you do.- Do you consider "live" bait cheating?
A decent (or better) angler will gut hook more fish with a senko than they will with live bait.- Who makes decent wallets?
Stop buying junk then. I have a bosca single fold that fits in my front pocket. I've had it for a few years now and it's got tons of life left. http://www.bosca.com/8-pocket-leather-card-case-nappa-vitello.html I don't know anything about tri-folds, I hate carrying a huge wallet in my back pocket.- Everyday Carry Knives
Kershaw Pack rat I just got it so I don't have a ton of experience with it, but it is easy to open and close one handed and plenty sharp.- Your Free Phone Cost $240
I've had every incarnation of the "Death Star" service offered in Chicago since 1999 when I got my phone after graduating college. Except for one apartment, I've had excellent service. The only time I've changed plans is when I went to a family plan, so I have an older plan that is much cheaper than they offer now. The biggest gripe I have with AT&T is the cost of their text messaging plans and the fact that you have to pay for data and messaging for the second phone of a family plan. It looks like T-mobile includes two phones in their price. However, for what I use I really wouldn't be saving any money by switching and I wouldn't be able to have my iPhone, which is the best phone available!!!- Muskie fishing with Farmpond1 and another buddy
I've only fished the spillway once. It was pretty fun, but we were going for white bass. I'm going to have to go down there again and see if I can tie into one of those!!! Nice fish!- Your Free Phone Cost $240
The Verizon maps are actually very misleading. I have AT&T coverage and get 3g coverage is many areas that are not on Verizon's maps. I haven't seen anything on the ads dating the AT&T maps, but I do know for a fact that I get 3g coverage is areas that the Verizon maps say that AT&T doesn't provide it.- Would it be a waste to have 2 same rods, different ratio reels??
This is so true it deserves a thread of its own!!!!!- What can a 6'3" spinning rod be used for?
Why do people keep saying this? A longer rod provides LESS leverage than a shorter one, not more. It's simple physics. The longer the rod is, the greater the distance from the fulcrum point (your hands) so you have to work harder to apply the same force to the rod tip. A shorter rod is just the opposite and requires less effort to "lever" the fish.- What can a 6'3" spinning rod be used for?
Leverage for what? It's a spinning rod and not typically designed for horsing fish out of heavy cover. Also, as Rolo said longer rods give the fish more leverage over you and not the other way around. I'd use a Med X-fast spinning rod for light jigs, soft plastics, etc.- Best MH Crankbait Rod for $100 or less?
Definately true, but I still see no reason why the rod would have any impact of the action of a crankbait. - NFL Question- What's worse?
