  1. Theres so many I use faithfully it's hard to say.But if I had to choose my number one go to worms they would be 7.5 and 10 inch Yum ribbons,Yamamoto 6.5 inch kut tails, and Gambler 8 inch flapper tails.
  2. Omg, you laid a fish on the ground! Let the witch trial begin. : Anyways, way to go dude. Those are nice looking specimens.
  3. "Hey,watch your mouth!" > RE: Gimme a mirror.
  4. Thats awesome! Thanks for posting! I got my morning giggles out real quick.
  5. This is the first time I checked this thread in 3 months and I guess I didn't miss anything. : I was going to be keeping track of it and who caught what but theres still no photos,no news,no action, and the year is getting late. Is the lure gone. Are we gonna just go ahead and cash this thread now? :-?
  6. Hmmm, I got some competition. ;D More to follow...... Nice baits man.
  7. That first fish is a real toad! Tell her congrats. You on the other hand...keep trying ;D
  8. Explained well Roger! This is also the same way to fish with a worm. You don't really have to wait.If you drop the rod and reel the slack then set that is all the time you need.It also keeps the fish from feeling you and spitting. I also second the notion that sometimes they just plain out miss them.A bunch. It also depends on the day. Some days they will choke it and some they just swat at it.Welcome to topwater fishing.
  9. Been there done that. At the place we buried my grandfather in Ohio there was a nice little pad filled pond back in the corner near his grave. I snuck in there a few times and fished it and it's all good because he is the one who taught me about fishing.
  10. After having to rub my eyes for a while from reading that I discovered that it is true. Also If you take a kid fishing try to make it a positive experience.
  11. I have heard nothing about it.Thanks for the heads up. I'll keep an eye(ear) out for it.
  12. Good for you! :
  13. All suggestions are good. I also second the spinnerbait. 3/8 oz single or double willow leaf blades.Especially effective if the wind is beating.
  14. I don't like to use real heavy gauge because that gnarly little knot will rip the hell out of plastics.
  15. The only kind of Vmc worm hooks I have used are the Fritts triple barb wide gap.Never had that kind of issue with them. I use small diameter braid mostly(10-15 lb) and I have had trouble with any hook. The braid will pop right out. To remedy the situation honestly I tie two knots. Tie once then cut off tag and lead line, slide knot over and tie again. In other words if I cut one off I just leave the knot on there. You can also take a piece of mono and tie it on there to plug the gap. Using a palomar knot can help as well. I am sure the anal retentives are cringing at the thought of leaving a knot on right about now ;D
  16. They rust easily.Don't ever store them with your quality hooks.
  17. Paca craws smell delicious A nice slimy bag of Yum worms is right up there too. Gulp is some of the worst. Smells like someone needs a bottle of Massengill.
  18. Not as important as getting my hands on one in the first place Seriously though as long as it is decent and holds up pretty well. It doesn't need to be bulletproof for me. I like scuff marks and wear and tear but I don't want a few small chips to turn into half the paint gone within a few casts either.

The best popper I have used hands down. I don't have a rio yet though The only problem I have with the original is that it is a little too small but still a very consitent bait. Colors I have absolute and black. Color on the bottom for a topwater is the most important generally. The 3 main choices are whites/silver,blacks for low light or dirty water, and clear or translucent bottom for clear water.
  20. Nope around here tacos are on the .99 value menu. : Can you say rip off?!? I used to be able to get some Bell for $4 or less. Now I have to spend 7-8 easily. Size, quality, and price is down the tube just like most of these places nowadays. Mc D's around here has .49 hamburgs and .69 cheesburgs which is cool except I don't know how they can possibly shrink the size any more and still sell it. :
  21. Great fish dude! If you really insist on having us guess I would say 8-8.5. Do you know the weight or at least the size???
  22. Rage craws in black with rattles are an excellent choice as well. Fish will be very tight to and in any available over.
  23. I like them carolina rigged.
