DO in relation to depth
Paul your the man... That is some great info. I am guessing the DO will change due to turnovers. Paul I know time of turnover will vary in bodies of water due to size and other factors, but when does it usually occur in the northeast? Other then transition from turnover why would DO be different in deeper spots then other lakes in summer?

DO in relation to depth
The way we did the survey might not have been the best way. We checked DO/temp/sechi disk at the shallow site where we used a trap net then we kept moving across the lake and surveyed every 60-80m. We just used a DO meter starting from 0m down to the bottom recording DO every half m. Even at the shallow site where we had our trap net it showed a decrease in DO at 3.5m where it equaled around 6-7 mg/l. I am not sure if I answered your question, but that was how we did it. This was not an official sample for the state.

DO in relation to depth
I did a lake survey last week and found DO from 0m to 11m and I only found DO to be suitable down to 5m which at that depth was 5 mg/l. Why is it that we still catch fish 20ft+ when the DO is not suitable? I have read that the lowest DO for surviving a 24 hr period was 5.5 mg/l. Any thoughts?

The do's and donts of boat launching
By myself it takes about 5 minutes to launch with a partner that can back my vehicle up it takes about 2 minutes. Undo transom saver, undo strap in back of boat and the winch strap, jump in the boat, partner floats me... done. The boat gets pulled out quick, but in the parking lot I am in no hurry.

The do's and donts of boat launching
For tournament anglers the blood pressure rises even higher while waiting 10+ minutes. I cannot stand when there is a line and then people wait to situate things while they are half int he water.

SMith MouNtaIn LakE!!!!
Yeh slider we were down there. I have the privilege to say that, that was the worse weather I have ever fished a tournament in was on SML. Next year I want to fish some BFL's on SML. I only got a small taste of the fishing, I want more!

First Year Hunter Question..
lol..... I never hunted before and I actually can imagine this happening in most parts of West Virginia. Oh yeah, I'm sure it is more likely to happen in WV than PA. : Touche..... :-[

Fishing goals
I had a lot of goals for this season and did not complete many... Catch a new PB- Yes- 6lbs 8oz Learn dropshot- Needs work- caught a few tourney fish using it Learn spoons- didn't spend any time trying it Learn Deep cranks- Needs work- caught a few Limit more- Needs a lot of work I have fished my whole life, but this is only the second year of taking fishing a little more serious. Overall this year was a great time. I spent a lot of time on my local body and learned another new section. I have fished some bodies of water this year that I used to dream about fishing. I didn't expect to cash checks in every tourney or qualify in every regional, because I am just not there yet. I made some steps improving and I am starting to get a feel for different habitats/situations. My ULTIMATE long term goal is to be able to consistently catch a limit in a variety of weather conditions and a variety of habitats.

Thanks for the info guys. Wayne Chambersburg is still like 2.5 hours from State College. I guess it would be worth the drive to help figure out what I want. That is def. an idea.

For Cigar Lovers
Robby! C'mon man. PM me your address and I will send you up a quality cigar. If you don't have a cutter, let me know and I will send you up one too. I don't know if good cigars will mix well with natural ice light and Milwaukees best.

pinchot lake for largemouth?
It could be 65 depending on where you fish. If you fish where a large stream comes into the lake it could easily be 65. I was fishing Beltzville in July and the temp was around 60 where big creek comes in, but 65 throughout the whole lake..... slim chance.

How often do you fish?
This summer I fished 4 days a week and fished around 10 tournaments. I was too far away from my club this year so the tourney numbers were down.
