  1. No not at all... The issue needs to be addressed and corrected.....for the good of all BASSKIND!!! "There is no issue, great or small, that cannot be resolved with conversation." Anonymous
  2. This is a very good question.... I wonder is the guy a real jerk, or does he maybe, point out good spots for you to throw to? If he catches a fish on a certin lure, will he say, "Hey, I have an extra one in my box (or a pumpkin jig for example) and get you in position to throw to the same spot he just caught one from? Or maybe is he a guy who would buy you a nice Rapala lure, just because?? I think the main question is, "Is he doing it on purpose?" Which goes to the very heart of the definition of "back-boating." It is absolutley a purposeful act, meant to insult the other angler. I find that anyone who brings extra water for me on a fishing excursion and maybe a Fiber One bar, say..... would be OK in my book. But if you told him it bothered you and he apologized and said he would be more conscious of these indiscretions, I might give him another chance.............MIGHT!!!!!! ajr
  3. I agree RW, no magic answer, justs LOTS of practice. ajr
  4. Hey, I just started myself. I have Daiwa reels that have Magforce "brakes" if you will which makes pitching and flippin easier. Most advice articles tell you to move the "dial" or set or magnets (inside) at free spool. I can't do this. I would spend all day fixing back lashes. I do lower the spool tension knob quite a bit and turn my brake dial way down (at 1-3). It is a matter of finding the right settings of both of these for your style. It takes a while, and it requires practice, but id I can do it anyone can!! Good luck!! PS KVD's video "Pitchin to heavy hitters" helped me out to. Available as part of his 3 DVD set at Bass Pro Shop ($9.99) or on E-bay. ajr
  5. Hold on!!! I have been married 20 years this June, been with the same woman 27 years (HS sweethearts), and our marriage has always been 50/50 as much as possible. All these guys saying that "Their the boss!" and "I don't ask no woman for permission to do anything!" are full of, well you know, and are the FIRST ones to be a "Honey do husbands!" That being said, she told me this weekend that I needed therapy for this "bass fishing thing!"......(O.C.D. that I am!!) and she was serious!!! I told her about everyone on BassResource.com and that most were crazier than me. She said, in that case, we should all get a group rate at the therapist!! She brought me back to reality. I have been selfish recently about fishing, without even realizing it. MARRIAGE IS ABOUT TALKING TO EACH OTHER GOOD OR BAD!!! Don't assume you know how your woman is feeling, or you will end up without one!!! JMHO from a guy maried 20 years, June, 2008. Peace all!!! ajr

  12. I saw this in golf tournaments ALL the time, which is why I don't enter golf tourneys anymore. I used to tell everyone, "You can tell what a man's made of by watching him play one round of golf." If someone cheats at golf (or bass fishing) that's just the type of scummy piece of garbage they are in life. AND THEY DON'T CHANGE!!!!! AJR PS I wish there was a website that listed people that got caught cheating during BASS tournaments all over the country so that their faces and true selves could be revealed to us all. >
  13. Hit B.H.'s Johnston spot last night (cold and windeee!!!) from shore and got two nice LMB. Now to hit it on a nice day with the boat. Mothers's day was an "off limits" day. Would have liked to go out Sunday!!!! ajr
  14. Hey all.... Cajun Red fishing line advertises that red is the first color to "disappear" under water. Thus, fish can not see the line. If that is the case, what does this mean about the "bleeding" everything fad. Red hooks, bleeding tubes, red dots or "kill spots" on hard lures all of which are supposed to attract fish. Which school of thought is correct or is it all a bunch of hooey!!?? : Please weigh in with your opinion folks!!!!! ajr
  15. PM sent to Flechero. Good luck, "K"!! ajr
  16. Like I said, good luck.....
  17. Lane, I was actualy defending you Lane even though I don't know you. I felt you were getting ripped for no reason and being pressed into posting photos you didn't really want to send. Good luck... ajr
  18. Thanks for catching that Fluke..... The description and photos are right. The listing was wrong. It's 22,000. I fixed it and updated the listing. Thanks again, Alan
  19. Hey folks... I believe this is a post that was in the Flea Market forum. I bought the lot of plastics making materials mentioned here so I think the post was locked. BHOLE is not an advertiser, just a member selling things on the forums. Alan (bassnajr)

  21. He smokes the best Avo's!!!!! Then again, I believe his brother owns a cigar shop in Revere Beach, you know, where all the girls have big hair!!!! ;D ajr
  22. Hey all... I did not express myself correctly in an earlier post so let me clarify: I, like Lane and Flechero am upset about the high mortality rates after tournaments. I was concerned photos would "fall into the wrong hands" but that is not the case here. Sorry if I offended anyone with my "grey" humor....comment removed. Good luck Lane, if you need help from an old fishing guy, I'm around!! ajr
  23. Nooooo!!!! The Fleck spinnerbait was used to win the classic in the 1970's, maybe back to back, by I don't remember who. Not Charlie. ajr
