  1. You have lake maps??? Anything in new England??
  2. If abrasion is your concern, then use leader material. That can be expensive, though. What is the difference between the leader only flouro and flouro in general?? :-?
  3. Hey folks... I have two Lowrance 520c on my boat front and back. I have a Motorguide Tour 80 digital trolling motor with bulit in transducer. I am interested in a Humminbird SI unit for the front. Question?? Motorguide says that the built in transducer is compatible with Humminbird, but what about the SI part? I am CURRENTLY reseaching the HB SI units so bear with me.... I intend leave the 520c on the back mounted seperatly. Thanks, Alan
  4. Hey all.. For a while now I have used braid in heavy cover and flouro for all my jigs and lighter spinning tackle. I use to use braid for everything! I am thinking of using braid with flouro leader across the board this year...from jigs to spinning gear. I would value input from members here...good idea??....bad idea???? How does this affect sensitivity??? Thanks in advance!! Alan (bassnajr)
  5. I have never dealt with them and probably will. I didn't know about the price difference etc. Lots of folks have reels for "parts" etc. Gonna call today....
  6. Other than direct from Shimano, does anyone know any other companies who sell OEM or after market spools for Shimano Curados and Citicas?? Thanks, Alan (bassnajr)
  7. Welcome!!!
  8. There is not a "Pro" on the Elite Series Tour that doesn't have a Senko tied on one of their rods....but I bet you won't see it on TV!!!!!
  9. A Senko not thrown on a SLACK LINE in my opinion will most times not catch fish. Took me a while to realize this. Also patience is required. The bait has to sink to the bottom and, depending on the bait, this can take some time. Does this help??
  10. OK I live in Rhode Island...what is this grain elevator you soeak of?? I have a HUGE landfill in my town..suppose i could weigh it there!!! ;D
  11. Try what I do... Pick a technique or two you are not comfortable with or unsure of. Study all you can over the winter and grab some lures/baits that a specific to those techniques off of the bass boards or local shops. You may not end up being an "expert" but by knowing many various techniques, you will have a leg up on the guys who stay with only 2 or 3 techniques. JMHO Good luck!!!! Alan (bassnajr)
  12. I have a BUNCH of these left over from the '70s and '80s....Hell I'll sell you 4 for $2.00... right on!!!! Peace man!!!!!!
  13. I say he's my best friend who is not a human!! Took him with me fishing a couple times last summer more this year I hope. Now....I see you are a "big" guy like me. Do people ask you why YOU bought a Daschie??
  14. I thought oil or a line threader. If there is suppose to be a second spool, please let me know and I will go back to BPS and get it.

  17. ...and I'll bet you were there with a video camera or at least a sketch pad!!!! lol ;D
  18. That's very cool!!! The only thing I ever won was turkey in a raffle...and when I went to cook it it was bad!!!!! Enjoy!!!!
  19. This is great advice...this past summer, I found myself looking as much at these "extensions" as I did the Lowrance. Hopefully this summer the two will peacefully mix!! ;D
  20. First of all...you have to tell us about the trip you won! Where how?? I love G4.... If it is not a fishing trip (and with G4 I expect it is NOT!) Their gonna wonder why you are showing up with bass gear! and Beverly Hills?? That's a long way from the DELTA is it not?? Please tell us you did not win a guest spot on COPS as the guy with the mullet and no shirt!!! AND congrats from a fellow New Englander!

  23. Hey all... I got a BPS gift card for Xmas so I went to Foxboro MA today. A buddy I know works the reel counter and he pointed me towards the JM Gold reel...was $269.00 on sale now for $129.00. He said it is a heck of a reel for $129.00 not so much for the original price. Any members use these reels? Good reports I hope, because of course, I grabbed one! Alan (bassnajr)
