Grand Lake St. Mary's?
Anybody got any advice on this lake by Celina, Ohio, I just can't seem to figure it out. I'm catching a few fish, but can't find the quality and quantity I'm looking for. Thanks

was i wrong?
this thread scares me as I prepare to get married in august! ;D

WHAT kind of fish is this??
small flathead, let him grow and cathem' again

first tournament???????
I'm fishing it as a boater. Do you live around the lake? I'll be fishing it hard after my tourney this weekend up north here. I could possibly take you out sometime before the tourney to prefish and you give you some pointers to being a coangler in the BFL.

Berkley hollow belly?
I like the action just make sure you rig them perfectly, so they run true. And I think berkley has come out with a few other baits the last couple years that slay bass, my favorite= Beast.

Battle on the Border, favorites?

Is this illegal...
I understand your guys view completely, but still believe that one who looks the part appears more serious. Don't get me wrong I'm not talking about plastering a shirt with logos to make yourself look like your an elite series pro, but simply looking professional. I have yet to try to seek sponsors at this point in my career and have only a few small time local sponsors, that simply offered because they know me personally. I will be seeking more serious sponsorship in the 2009-2010 season, but I'll be following my own advice this year on appearing professional. I guess we'll see if it works out or not for me. P.S. LBH knows about sponsorship so I'd probably listen to his advice Zoom Baits.

Is this illegal...
No its not illegal. Just keep in mind that people will ask you about "zoom" and if your sponsored by them. Some may give you grief for promoting them for free, but don't let it get to you. In my opinion its no different than wearing an american eagle shirt, but you'll look better in zoom. Most importantly if your goal is to get sponsors you must dress the part to help market yourself. Starting off with a tournament jersey with a few logos of companies you believe in will have you looking much more series to possible sponsors than wearing a plain shirt or simply a jersey displays your brand of boat. Just my 2 cents

Favorite Crankbait
All time favorite rebel craw for creek smallies, grew up fishing these! These days bandits are hard to beat.

BFL BUCKEYE DIVISION
I will be fishing the boater side this year.

Humminbird 997 / 1197
I think you actually have to go at slow speeds to get a good reading. Like mentioned already the transducer is big and must be placed properly. I don't have a unit, but have fished in a couple boats with them and they are sick. We actually fished the trees in 15ft as we saw them and caught fish. Next year I will be getting one for sure.

FISHING THE OHIO RIVER
Mikel7, I love the river, kinda wish I lived closer. There is plenty of bass to be caught.

Ya'lls go to baits?
spinner bait, rattle trap= reaction strike

My 2 new favorite artificials...
Zoom makes some great baits. The finesse worms are my favorite. The brush hogs are awesome baits also. I don't know what you use for finesse worms but I think zoom is the best. I have seen others that look better in the water, but for me zoom always out produces, could be a confidence thing? Since your in Florida=bigger bass you can probably use the trick worms as finesse worms on a jig head. If your fishing around grass better throw some junebug.

Mosquito Lake, Ohio
I'm fishing the federation tournaments and the Ohio BFL as well as the Bassmaster Opens as a co-angler. I've thought about doing some weekend series but I couldn't do them all so not sure about it. I've never done a weekend series event before and would like to see what there like.

RAM mounts......
They are sweet. Your electronics won't budge even in the roughest water.

Best Way?
x2 on the BFL co-angler. The first one or two I was totally out of my element, but by the third I knew what was going on. There is no way I would have learned what I did by fishing just the local club tourneys in my area, but your area could be different.

My Website
Thanks for everyone's input. I have recieved a lot of advice from you guys and quite a few PM's with very critical advice and it's helped a lot. I realize that the website is not very professional looking and thats soon to change. The site was a day long project me and a buddy did during the winter and was not very well thought out. In about a month the whole site is going to be totally new, including pictures with my new tournament jersey and videos. I will post again when its done, once again thanks everyone.

Jig & Trailer
Black, blue, and natural colors would be my choice. I also like to use a bulkier trailer with less action when its still really cold. This is one of the few times I'll use a pork trailer.

Soft Craw Baits
T-Rig. You can flip em, jig em, crawl em and swim em. Great bait.

Mosquito Lake, Ohio
Just wondering if anyone has any advice about this particular body of water. Thanks.

So You Just Caught Your Limit...
