Fishing the river here is the same it seems, fish only in the main channel with eveyone else hitting the shore lines and giving me odd looks fishing 8-12 ft deep in the middle. Its paid off until the big boys come out with there bigger boats and wake me to death.

My guess without putting the coordinates into my GPS is the golf course, off exit 6. Under the bridge upstream to the right is a honey hole. Also downstream 3 miles is a great dam to fish I heading there tonight.

welcome aboard! I don't see what size the real is but the rod looks OK in that combo. I would pick up just a few lures to start off with, and stay out of the clearance boxes unless you know what your looking at (most of it is junk). Maybe a few worms, hooks, and small spinner baits. Just look around the forums for some tips.
