  1. I agree. FWIW....I think a lot of guys here would be surprised at how much fun it is to make some of this stuff. I make my own buzzbaits, spinnerbaits, and jigs. One of my friends and I experimented several years ago with different wire shapes and head size/blade combinations on buzzbaits and came up with a bait that worked(s) extremely well for us. A 1/4 oz. head with a blade designed for 3/8 oz. baits, and forming the wire to put the body WAY lower than typical designs. The bait can be crawled extremely slowly. It's a lot of fun, and I think a lot more people would get into it if they knew how relatively easy it is to get into (and a good way to save a ton of cash if you want). Once we figured out what we liked, we poured a ton of them - - - I'm still on the initial batch I made about 12 years ago... ;D Where did you order your supplies from? Hoe does the Hook Tie to the wire? Any Pics? Thanks
  2. 5-6 days a week, afterwork or when I travel before and after work. The river is just five minutes away. If I wade the river for smallies.
  3. Are you bringing a boat/canoe/ or waders? Great fishing in front royal off 66 exit 6 to the right behind walmart is a golf course with boat ramp. Also exit 6 toward Winchester on the left is lake frederick 110 acres. Or you can explore some of the north fork in Woodstock Area (of 81) 20 minutes south wading in at any point a bridge crosses the river. This place has a excellent trout stream and is very clean.   5. If your going to release the fish, PLEASE DON'T DO THIS!!!!!! Just get a freaking scale. I agree you need to let the fish keep its slime covering you can ley it on a wet piece of plastic to measure length

  10. Nice story, my wife will fish now and then and will pick out lures for me, but there is no joy on the hunting. She will shoot skeet and my handguns for fun.
  11. I use my pan optix clear polarized lenses, they are for riding my bike but work at night and early morning. It also keeps the gnats from landing on my eyeballs on the river

  18. Saturday report Nothing on my Anaconda's, but the smallies hit the the space monkey like nobody's business. All over two pounds one at 4 and some change.

  24. I never notice the size of the bubbles but will try to look for it, I look at my barometer every time I fish and log it with the amount of fish caught, baits used and depth.
  25. Congrats I love taking my grandson out on the boat, he is two and loves to reel in his sponge bob reel with a senko on it ;D
