Trick worms are normally straight as are most types of finesse worms but that doesn't mean that a curl tail won't work in these situations. Normally in recent times, curl tail for tx rigged presentations but then senko style worms are good for this as well. It is strictly up to the person throwing them. Big O

My favorite style of finesse fishing is without a doubt Shakey head or Spot Remover jig head with the high floating Elaztech finesse worm in watermelon or green pumpkin and tipped chartreuse w/JJs majic. Besides this, I will use a Peg- It rubber pegging system Carolina rigged Craw with a 1/4 oz or less weight in shallower depths and increasing weight as depth increases. Big O

Probably more info is needed on style of straight worm you are referring to. There is such a variety of "straight worms" including senko styles and even then, length comes into question. Many variables to consider. Big O

haven't used it very often but I have caught a few fish on it. It has really nice action and hooks need some attention before throwing it. I used it slow rolling on ledges in deeper water but I like chatterbait style baits better for this pattern. Big O www.ragetail.com

You know my vote Killa, Strike King challenged me 3 yrs ago to design a buzz style frog that would not only be different than the others on the market but also be more versatile at a variety of retrieval speeds, plus more water movement and noise at all speeds. Also wanted a frog that if it lands on its back on cast, would upright itself at beginning of retrieve. Heavy enough to cast long distances, and easy to keep on top at slow speeds. Also wanted a frog that was designed around a 4/0 to 6/0 EWG (extra wide gap hook) for excellent hook up ratio. 10 ft is about the max for me on a still day and nail weights can sometime improve fall rate on some designs and allow you to basically cover the same water productively and faster. Big O

I think they are all gonna chip after a while especially if the get hamerred by enough fish. Nature of the beast. Good ideas to touch up paint and re seal them though. Big O

Thanks for the info Wayne. I also insert the eye of the keel weighted hook first, about 3/8" below the head of the worm and protrude it out the front end, then insert the point into the body appropriately. Then tie the hook onto the line. This helps to avoid having to drive the weight that is molded onto the hook down thru the head causing a wallowing or boring out effect. Use the same hooking steps on swimbaits too. I don't mind retying if I lose a bait, probably good insurance. Big O

That is good info on the Megastrike scent for trailers. I developed my own spray scent and use it now but if I run out, theres always a tube of Megastrike in the boat. Then your bait is tellin the fish "Just hold me a little longer, Pleeeeease"..........Whack! Big O
