  1. They are terrific to have tied on when fish are in the mood for top action. Big O www.ragetail.com
  2. 4/0 to 6/0 EWG (Extra Wide Gap)hooks are recommended on both Rage Shad and Toad. My favorite is 5/0 EWG. The Rage Tail website has a video on hooking instructions on the Rage Tail Shad. Also www.strikeking.com has a different clip showing instructions as well. Can expose hook on top of back and skin hook, or push the hook thru back of bait with then retract slightly to hide hook point or just push all the way thru bait and lay point on back. All depends on type of vegetation (sparse or heavy) is fished. On the fast moving Shad to attain action, often colder water causes this but it loosens up with a few casts. When in colder water, you can gently stretch (be careful not to tear) the tight bend in the reinforced area of the tail to tune it to the action, sound or speed you desire. Big O www.ragetail.com
  3. Now Tommy, Ain't we a HAPPY bunch...And why shouldn't we be.... When we're not Fishin', We're talkin to our friends about Fishin'. "Don't get no better than that" now does it? Go fish-be Happy Welcome Big O www.ragetail.com
  4. Not yet ba7ss3in, I am sure that we won't air the shows or footage until the products are on store shelves. As with many industries, retailers place orders this year for next years inventories. In the case for these new designs though, there will be retailers that want to get the product ahead of others and I will definitely provide our folks here at Bass Resource with privy information on "the when and wheres" the new products are available. I am sure that products are slated to be available by October, so that is an idea of timing etc. Thanks Big O www.ragetail.com
  5. Don't live near a lake or river system but I have a swimming pool! Hmmmm... de clorinate, stock bait fish, stock Bass. Wow, then I could fish 24 hrs a day and never have to leave my back porch. Oh..... but then I would be around the house more and have to do more chores .....Scratch that idea, I'll just pay for the gas. Big O www.ragetail.com
  6. About to dive in....... Come on in, the waters fine. Welcome Tommy, we're glad to have ya! Big O www.ragetail.com
  7. Top water activity says try top baits as previously mentioned and use same ones as mentioned because water temp won't support a fast mover in my opinion. Then definitely go to T rig or Carolina rig soft plastics. Keep it slow and start shallow then to deeper front of flat or cove inlet to find pre or post spawners, depending on conditions. 8. Sure thing Glenn, It will be great to see you there. Terrific chance for us to finally meet. Looking forward to it. Steve www.ragetail.com
  9. People like Shaw have not only paid there dues but more importantly have paved the way for the rest of us as well, keeping the fun in fishing as one of the main priorities in promoting and maintaining a high interest at all ages and experience levels. Big O www.ragetail.com
  10. P.S. Thanks to those folks who raise such wonderful young people Big O www.ragetail.com
  11. JM, You seem to be wise beyond your years and I enjoy very much your interest in the future of this wonderful pastime, Fishing. Not often that we, who have been around the block a few times, hear a young person that has a real handle in understanding the challenges before us. I applaud you in both your interest and future endeavors. If our world had more young people like you, with your care and enthusiasm, we could sleep much better at night. Big O www.ragetail.com
  12. I am kind of partial to Rage Tail chunks and/or craws for longer presentations. Also, they now come in the new Crawfish Butter Scent. Heck, makes me want to bite them too. Big O www.ragetail.com

AI, I have best luck with a 5/0 EWG superline hook. And ck the feet for the tiny tabs that hold feet to legs. If they are still attached just pop them loose. They are there to reduce deformation in the package. Even if some deformation occurs, you can place them on their back on a cookie sheet in 170 degree oven for 10 or 20 minutes. Then they are perfect again. In fact any deformed soft plastic bait can be reformed in the same fashion. I like this method over placing baits in hot or near boiling water. Good fishing Big O www.ragetail.com
  14. Shouldn't be long now Bronzeback, They will be debuted at the World ICAST Show in Vegas mid July and then we can start talking about them. Until then though, gotta keep'em kinda quiet for the surprise factor. I am really excited about this years new designs because I sure put the time in on this group. Actually made the general designs sometime back but just recently got them perfected. Should hit the market with all 6 new products in October or thereabouts. Will list each of them on the Rage Tail website when I can and let you know. Thanks Big O www.ragetail.com
  15. James Ne-guh-my-er (Niggemeyer) He is one of our Strike King Pro's on the Elite Tour Big O www.ragetail.com
  16. Of course I like the Rage Tail Toad for obvious reasons but also because of it's versatility as a soft plastic style buzz bait as well. Big O www.ragetail.com

Agree with the Bass Finatic on regular offset owner style hook on the slimmer or thinner bodies, but I normally use a 4/0 minimum on any and all 6" or over soft plastics. Have not seen any proof that a smaller size than 4/0 gets more strikes either, so the hook up % always get the nod from me. Big O www.ragetail.com
  18. I'm sure he has, but he can't slow down enough to interact, due to his fishing and show schedules. Literally on the road, FULLTIME. I told him to slow down a bit, cause he needs a break. He mentioned he had 4 off days coming up soon and looking forward to'em. Big O www.ragetail.com
  19. Hey Yall, We had a blast and thanks for all of your kind words. Shaw said a big "Howdy" to all of you here at Bass Resource, and so did Denny Brauer, Mark Menendez and James Niggemeyer. Here's a photo for you. Big O www.ragetail.com
  20. Shaw and Hank are different guys but both good people. They both have moustaches most of the time and for that they do resemble some. You can find a link to Shaw's fishing show called "One More Cast " on my website at www.ragetail.com Big O
  21. Amen LKN Bassman, couldn't have said it better. Doesn't this directly parallel life itself? We all have to admit that during many of our fishing trips, there are small problems or challenges we have to work through. And other outings we have faced even bigger challenges that at the time seemed insurmountable. And through it all, do we love this awesome thing called Fishing? "An emphatic Yes", because we choose to look at the good things in fishing. And through it all, do we love this awesome thing called Life? "An emphatic ____", because we choose to look at the ____ things in life. Happiness is a choice. Big O www.ragetail.com
  22. Chad, Pls change to a 5/0 or 6/0 EWG hook and problem solved. You can go to my website for video and pictures illustrating hook up instructions or strikeking.com has as well. Hope you like'em and let me know how you do. Big O ragetail.com
  23. Sure LBH, Chris Is a terrific guy and in fact he was at the lake today assisting with filming the show. He came all the way from Tennessee to Texas just to help out. Now thats a good guy. As for 3x which has changed to the better material Elaz Tech, We don't use it on Rage Tail due to less action results. Good for some applications and not so good for others. Shaw and I had a blast today and he said to tell everyone at Bass Resource "Howdy". Don"t know when show will air but will let you know when it is up coming. Great fishing with a great guy and an even greater friend. Big O www.ragetail.com
  24. Thanks Lane, You guys are an invaluable resource to this growing yet troubled industry. Now if we could just get the word out. Thanks for all you do Steve Parks www.ragetail.com
