Hate it when......
Just remember, we don't honor him like LM and SM bass. If you get the stripe in, you can take him to the skillet for redemption. Pay Back

Just a plain jig head and a piece of plastic
Hey Muddy, I do it all the time. It's kinda like pegged Texas rig to me but a whole lot easier. Like this method on craws and creatures as well. www.ragetail.com

What are they doing?
"Heat seekers" are natural in all waters I am familiar with and are definitely finicky eaters at that time. Important not to spook them too much but return later to fish the nearest off shore cover and structure as normally they will not be far away. This finicky posturing sometimes requires finicky bait presentations till the fish get into a higher gear. www.ragetail.com

your fishing superstitions
I am very superstitious, I believe that if I don't go fishing, I won't catch fish. I believe that if I don't go fishing, I won't have fun. I believe that if I don't go fishing, my boat's no use. I believe that if I don't go fishing, I can't take my grandson fishing. But my biggest superstition of all is I believe that if I don't go fishing, I just wouldn't be happy. www.ragetail.com

i have a curse
You're getting tuned up for the "BIG ONE". Just settle down and next time you're fishing, take a moment to notice the serenity and natural wonders around you. Then think about how wonderful it is to have the freedom and ability to spend your time doing what you love to do as much as anything in the world. Done You have just set things in motion to go your way, kissed lady luck, aligned the stars, found the four leaf clover. It's not only a positive mental state that you attain, but more importantly an appreciation for what so many of us take for granted. "The opportunity to fish" Now, not only will you catch fish but you will enjoy the experience much more as well. Let us know about your next outing! www.ragetail.com

What frog has the highest hookup ratio?
Catt is right as usual. All of the different styles of frogs require a certain amount of experience to understand the techniques necessary for best hook up percentages. I like a variety of frogs with my favorite being the Rage Tail Toad as it has a small hook slot on the back that allows you to skin hook it (which keeps the hook weedless but point is riding on his back) and this gives a better hook up percentage because the hook doesn't bury up in the body of the bait during hook set. www.ragetail.com

The weightless 4" Senko is the greatest bait in the history of history
Yes it is a good'un.

Rage Tail shad
Go to www.ragetail.com and there is some good info. Rigging instructions etc. The Rage Shad is actually a soft plastic topwater buzzbait that has extreme action. On the website product page, there is a video clip that shows a short 3 min action packed clip. Another very important way that the Rage Shad is being used is as a SWIMBAIT. Put your heaviest 5/0keel weighted hook on it and GET IT ON. You can still run it as a top water with the same hook and it gives you more weight for casting distance. Hope you like 'em.

Bass Attractants??
Mineral oil from grocery store mixed with you favorite scent is another way of making your own.
-
Jig Modifications
Trimming skirts and guards depends on the water structure and the type and length of trailer you use along with the strength of the guard on the jig. Action trailers like Rage Tails and Paca's need to trim skirt slightly when using chunks and not when using longer presentation craws.

temperature help?
WRB is on the mark.

help with new baits???
fish them slow til you start hitting the fish on a certain type of structure and repeat the process. Really not designed to fish them fast.

Evolution Jig
they are great jigs when they are used right. quality made.

slack
Agree with Catt, slightly heavier weight and experience is the answer you are looking for.

Snagproof Bass Grabber Jig??//
interesting concept but I don't have a problem on hook up's with traditional jigs. I fish timber alot and don't need another reason to leave a jig down there. Plus when I do get hung up, I can bend the hook a bit normally with stronger line to get it loose. Don't think I can bend two of them.

Jig Trimming Techniques
Regardless of jig weight, if the fish are looking for a larger profile, don't trim skirt and use a slightly longer trailer or pinch a craw to desired length. Some time the fish like the slightly longer look. If you find the fish wanting the smaller profile, trim the skirt as mentioned in previous posts and use smaller or compact chunk or trailer. Important to realize that when using an action trailer like Rage Tails or Paca's, your skirt can impede the desired action. On the hook guard, it depends on which model jig you are using and the type of cover you are in, as to whether or not trimming is required. All jigs are not created equal, many have varying strength guards as well. Really stiff guards, I trim as above mentioned. Softer ones, I will leave a little longer. Open water, guard is not so important and visa versa.

Tungsten Weights
And of course they penetrate cover better, they are smaller.
-
Tungsten Weights
Three important reasons why I like tungsten weights over lead. 1) In weight size - advantage tungsten. 2) For holding color if painted (for finicky clear water fish) - advantage tungsten. 3) The most important reason is that since they are much more expensive, I am retying much more often to avoid line breaks which loses weight, hook and fish - BIG advantage tungsten. This reason alone has made me take the time that to do what I have failed to do often enough. I have lost far too many fish over the last 40 years for that very reason. I consider tungsten weights a extremely inexpensive considering the valuable lesson learned.

Bass Attractants??
Megastrike is hard to beat. Don't know if there is anything better and I have tried a few of them over the last 40 yrs. For those who don't think that scent makes a difference, tell them to put a little bug repellent on their bait and see how many fish they boat. NONE! But of course bass can't smell oil based scents, according to one of the popular scent based bait companies lingo. Yeah Right. In fact tell a non believer to spit a little Copenhagen on his favorite soft plastic worm and rub it in, then see how many fish he catches. NONE, until he washes it off with a hundred casts or so. All experienced jig and slow plastic users know for a fact that scent makes a difference, both good and bad.
