Hey Paul, My favorite color for Boot Lace Bass Fishing (Banother site) is pink but I always got my wife to pick'em up for me, you know the ladies department and all. There is no magic wand for fishing....Each RT is designed to be the best in it's class for specific styles. Like the Rage Shad, to create more noise, action and water movement than others and in the thickest of slop.... The Rage Craw for maximum action at slow fall rates and minimal movement..and so on. The designs are different from the norm and this is the reason for the available instructions that are provided at every turn via inside packages, websites etc. Also RT has a discussion board or information center to cover any questions and comments on rigging and fishing techniques etc. http://www.ragetail.com/ragetalk/index.php?board=1.0 In your info you mentioned that you are not a great angler but if you're actually interested or want assistance on learning how to improve, I know several people in the Va. area that are catching loads of quality fish and setting new PB's on RT's, they could possibly help you. Also there are alot of great folks right here on BR that will be happy to give you advice on a variety fishing techniques that might give you some help or a head start for gaining valuable experience. I understand your frustration and wishing that the fish could find you instead of you having to find them but this is one of the real challenges and ultimately "The Lure of Fishing". Are they indestructable, No...A "New Driver" not knowing how to drive a Race Car is going to have a bad day if he or she wants to win the race....they're probably gonna have a wreck for their own lack of experience or knowledge. I have always tried to be very accessible to everyone here at BR because this is my Home Forum and also the only one where I am a Sponsor.....In fact up until awhile back when this Forum had a hiccup losing all of my PM's, I'm positive that I was 100% for answering all correspondence I had received (and this is no easy feat). This is not intended to be an excuse, but I welcome PM's. It's obvious that you have a real interest in becoming a better angler or you wouldn't be on this forum or have taken the time and effort to purchase what many believe to be the top products to assist you. All of this to say, I'm sorry for your lack of success with any products you have tried (whether mine or others) My first peice of advice to you is start with a T rigged Rage Craw and a 1/4 oz weight....The only time I can't catch fish with it is when I casted it up on the bank ;D Hope this helps Big O www.ragetail.com

Was able to get on the water for a couple of days this week and the fish were feeding heavy on 10" Thumpers and Jig'n'Lobsters Called a couple of friends that lived within an hour or so from the lake and invited them for a evening of lip rippin'. They arrived bearing gifts, Ronnie brought me a Bag of his Special Columbian blend coffee and Wendell had a case of Bud Light..Woooo Hooooo We weren't gonna be too far from the ramp so I joined the party As we eased out across the lake to our first stop, I heard about a few of their exploits together....They were like Laurel and Hardy and had me chuckleing the entire time....Having been fishing partners for many years, they've aquired a good reputation on the tournament circuits. I had marked one spot earlier in the day and decided to ck it out to see if it was as good as it looked....on my first toss to the 15 ft ledge with a 1/2 oz Hack jig and Lobster trailer, the fish hit with authority and I swung for the fence....she beat me up and broke off quickly, OUCH. I held the boat into position while retying and both Wendell and Ronnie commenced to whoopin' on'em with 10" Thumpers. We landed several fish over the next 15 minutes but none were real pigs. Then right at sun set we cruised over to one of my favorite evening haunts....Everything was right for it, full moon just starting to rise, light wind blowing into the structure and no other boats nearby to see us in action It was fast a furious and we Thumped 14 solid fish before we had to slide back out just before dark. I'd like to fish with everyone here at BR and especially the Folks that come to the BR Roadtrip each year I've had a chance to meet several members and have fished with only a few up to this point but had a blast each time. NEVER ENUFF Shimmy When I get tired of seein'em, I'll be tired of chasin'em and I have no plans on slowin' down any time soon Here's a couple that the boys let run into my hook while we were out : Big O www.ragetail.com

Got a chance to fish a few days so I arranged for different friends to meet me at the lake each day. We all had a blast and caught a pile of nice fish. The fish are in full Summer patterns now and the deeper bite is ON....A T-rigged the 10" Thumper, C-rigged the Eeliminator and a Lobster was set up with a 1/2 oz Tungsten for flippin deep timber. I started out the first evening at 6:00pm fishing with Matt and we had perfect conditions. The fish were mauling the Thumper on 15 ft timber ledges falling into the river channel. We knew "it was on" when we saw as many as six fish of the same size following the hooked one to the boat each time. We boated 18 fish before dark and would've stayed on'em but my trolling motor batteries were screaming for a charge. The next morning, Matt and I were joined by Wendell. We had heavy winds but managed to find a several pockets of fish in deep water haunts. Feeling the bite in those conditions was the real challenge but we managed some good numbers and size too. I held the nose of the boat into the wind off of the structure and the guys were C-rigging Eeliminators and Thumpers. Alot of Hoopin' and Hollarin' goin' on back there ;D The wind took a toll on the batteries again that day and we figured the fish would follow the same heavy evening bite pattern so we loaded back up and put a quick 1 hour charge on'em to get back out prior to dark....and glad we did. The fish were back for dinner and so we served'em up The next day was Cuatro's turn and he showed up ready to go. We were hoping that the wind conditions would slow a bit and "that they did", there was no wind at all and the entire lake was slick as glass all day. This along with high sun and no clouds made for tough conditions but we made a good decision and changed our pattern to flipping the Lobster in 25 ft timber around deep creek channels. Even though we landed a lower percentage of fish per hook up due to hanging them up in the trees....we still had a blast. That day ended with Sunburn and sore thumbs Cuatro and I hit the water the third morning and the wind was perfect, a constant 10 mph and held from the South East all day long. The patterns were all predictable and holding nice concentrations of fish so we again had an opportunity to stroke some more nice fish. That's one of the reasons I've said several times "If I could only have one Bait it would be the Eeliminator". Will fish from top to bottom effectively and in all soft plastic applications. EDBM, It was designed around the 4/0 EWG Superline but you can get by with both 3/0 or 5/0 if absolutely necessary. The 3/0 might have less hook up % than 4/0..... Big O www.ragetail.com

Yeah Buddy...That's what I'm talkin' bout, right there and you're all over it Catt Usually if I pull up within casting distance to visible surface grass....I'm starting too close :-/ We can all find the key grass that is on the outskirts of the visible bed by fan casting a few times and this is often where some of the bigger fish will be held up at certain times during the day. I fish these sparse clumps thoroughly and rarely go away empty handed. When I feel the jig is a bit tangled in this type of grass, I'll rip the jig in an upward fashion and let it fall back to the bottom on a slack line. Only after I have completely fished the outside edges will I move in for close combat and I follow very much the same techniques you have mentioned The thicker or deeper the grass, or poor water clarity will get a Rattle on my jig too. Also, find that I move the jig much less with this technique and catch just as many fish by only twitching the rod tip enough to rattle'em in. As you know, this technique works much the same in rocks too but no rattle needed due to the noise of the jig ticking up and down on the rocks.
