I C-rig alot and only use one bait...Eeliminator tipped 1" on end of tail with Chartreuse JJ's and WHY? Many other baits will work but from my experience, if they're gonna eat a C-rigged bait, this one gets it done for me. Big O www.ragetail.com

I am kinda partial to an Owner 5/0 off set round bend...Holds the bait up well, goes thru the thick stuff easily, extremely high hook up %, strong and holds a point I've used several of the straight shank flippin hooks and like them too but the Owner does the job well for me. Thanks everyone, been trying to fish a couple of times during the week and avoid wkend traffic. Shimmy, didn't weigh her but that spot's still safe, thanks for the concern 300 yrds from shore and no visible timber...my new friends, the two old blood bait Catter's didn't have a GPS unit either. Photo was after drifting closer to shore. Use a 5/0 EWG Superline hook as shown on the illustration in the above post and be sure to hook it correctly, not bowing the back upward when skin hooking If you prefer a 5/0 - 1/8 oz weighted hook, it adds a little distance to your cast but you need to keep your rod tip a little higher during retrieve to run it slow on top Big O www.ragetail.com

For the soft plastic game you might... 1) Parallel the front of the weed bed, fishing soft plastic Craw Baits slowly with the lightest weight possible whether T rigged or light weight C rigged 1/8 if possible. 2) Move out to the next break line or structure that is present with same bait set up and add lizards or worms. 3) Find the nearest grass to the deepest water and repeat presentation noted above but with heavier weight. Also add in 10" Worms. Without being there it's all a guess, but during the mid day hours, I would stay away from shallows and concentrate more in 8ft or more depths if possible. Nice One Fiend You're choice of jig size is the same that I use for fishing most standing grass too. The 1/4 oz doesn't bury up as much as heavier jigs and makes it much easier to work over and thru it. Big O www.ragetail.com

I agree with the 3/4 Moon being very good for several reasons but primarily because it proved exactly that over a 20 yr period in which I worked night fishing trips exclusively. If I had to choose a general section of time to concentrate on night fishing the warmer months, it would be from the 1/2 to the Full moon for sure Big O www.ragetail.com
