  2. Yeah Bobby, I'll meet you there and if you need me to, I'll bring ya plenty of quarters......OHHHH that might be counter productive, maybe I should bring a wet suit instead, but I don't have one of those......How'bout a handful of trash bags and a big roll of duck tape.......That ought to keep you dry'enuff See you there friend and travel safe Big O www.ragetail.com
  3. Often at BPS, the Shad and Toads are on different aisles but they could have been out of the Rage Toads. With the cold water temps in most parts of the country, buzzin' the top isn't much of a consideration but if you're in South Fla. you might be able to find some water that's still productive Below is a link that has additional info that you might find helpful and might try using a keel weighted hook in windy conditions.....helps keep the bait from skipping out on waves and also allows longer casts and sub-surface running. http://www.ragetail.com/ragetailshad.html Have fun and fish safe Big O www.ragetail.com
  4. Crab - Crustacean - Creature that can be morphed or changed by pinching wings or tail off for smaller prophile yet still have good action with minimal movement. Versatile is the description I use very often regarding the Smokin Rooster. As some have previously mentioned, it is adaptable to just about every style of presentation and from super slow bottom bumping to spinner bait retrieves - if using a weighted hook. I like Watermelon/red, Okeechobee, Green pumpkin and black/blue flake.....I also like tipping the single tail w/chartreuse JJ's. Hope you enjoy'em www.ragetail.com
  5. Terrific question and gives much food for thought I am partial to detailed discussions on why fish react positively in different situations to different presentations. Like many of the above responses, spending time with pro's and guides and discussing their intimate knowledge of home waters is where I would start. Example: If I wanted to learn about tractors, I would talk to the farmers who work them instead of a dealership. The dealership will tell me what it's suppose to do, the Farmer will tell me what it really does. Often, we're on the fish and won't know it because we're not getting bit. We're too fast, too slow, too shallow or too deep and the fish aren't interested in our presentations. With that said, discussing the approach, styles and order of presentations to take advantage of each fish holding area is first priority for me. I live in Texas and 90% of my fishing is done here but really enjoy fishing other waters. When at Kentucky Lake earlier this year, CJ, Bud, Kent and others had great insight on these details for that lake and made everyones success improve thru their casual conversation. Although I'm blessed with the opportunity to fish with each of the SK Pros learning their favorite patterns on home waters, I receive just as much enjoyment and understanding from the everyday folks who spend quality time on their lakes too. One of these days, I'll slide over to Toledo Bend and get Catt in the boat.....now that'll be a good time Fo Sho www.ragetail.com

  11. Several months back RageTail had the wonderful opportunity to support a "Take a Wounded Soldier Fishing" effort in Washington DC. Ron DeFreitas, his son Jason and Family represented this effort for us by handing out Bags of fishing baits to all involved as well as taking some of our Wounded Heroes fishing during the 2 day event. It was a great honor for us to be involved with such a worthy and necessary cause and my hat's off to all who serve our Country with such bravery. Ron has just made me aware that the Wounded Warriors Project is trying to get folks to send Christmas Cards to the wounded soldiers. I have placed the address below for those that would like to participate in helping with this effort. Believe it or not, each card that is sent makes huge impact to those who receive them. Holiday Mail For Heroes P.O. Box 5456 Capital Heights, MD 20791-5456 Please spread the word and feel free to share the address listed. I would also like to wish all of our Bass Resource Family members a Happy and Safe Holiday Season. Big O www.ragetail.com
  12. Good'un Paul and that circle hook appears to be the real deal in alot of applications......Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family too www.ragetail.com
  13. Yeah...I'm sure I have some old photos but their not in digital format, didn't have in those days ;D I think I even have some photos of Ze's hand prior to the hooks being removed : Maybe we can schedule a trip that works out on the same dates sometime, need to go visit an old friend (Hoyt Fincher) that lives close to the lodge now. www.ragetail.com
  14. That's awesome Robert. Maybe the greatest freshwater fishing adventure in the world today and just think, you spent the time with your Dad I fished with Phil Marsteller for 11 yrs before they built the lodge there at the beach. He would give me a boat and cash me up with gear and supplies including additional batteries, gas, oil etc. and turn me loose for a week at a time on different stretches of the Rio *****. Just me and my Hammock Phil would pick me up a week later and drag my rig overnight behind the Amazon Queen and turn me loose for another week in a different area. Made 5 week jaunts at a time and covered new backwater areas with each trip then reported the new lake finds back to his crew and staff each week. When the water was up, about 50 miles beyond the Forresta area seemed to be my favorite because there were so many different lakes that became accessible if you did a little chopping with a machette. The young fellow that was with you (Ze') has been with Amazon Tours for many years and is one of their most reliable and dedicated employees. About 15 years ago, I had to do some minor surgery on his hand because one of his clients snatched a couple of the Wood Chopper trebles deep in his palm and damaged some nerves in his fingers....He just smiled and said gitt'r done Really glad you had a chance to spend the time with your Father and those kind of memories will last a lifetime. 18. Really nice baits IMO and if I fished cranks and jerkbaits, I'd fish'em the pointers are one of their most popular baits to date. www.ragetail.com
  19. Durability and/or longevity along with high floating material. Elaztech is all of that but can sometimes require minor adjustments to get use to. Be sure not to mix them with standard polysol plastic baits and you can put them back in the original bag when finished fishing and use them again next trip. Hope that helps www.ragetail.com
  20. Big-O replied to YaHoo's topic in Fishing Reports

  21. EXCELLENT and WTG CCBasser and Son "Great Dads take their children fishing" and "Lucky Children have Great Dads".....I'd say you two fit in those categories just fine www.ragetail.com
  22. Really nice photos Ms M and glad you two had a chance to get out and enjoy fishing in some decent weather.....Red lips Maybe cooler water and feeding on the bottom prey is the reason but then again, they could be puckering up for a kiss www.ragetail.com
  23. All Rage Tail baits are produced here as well www.ragetail.com
  24. Sounds like a great time to me Joe and glad you two had some fun www.ragetail.com
