  1. I would do 1/16 or 1/10 oz on the spinners/spoons or 1/8 at the most if you're talking small trout. My favorite is a 1/10 oz rooster tail in grasshopper, but white or black with a silver blade or brown and yellow with gold are good as well.
  2. Diagonal stripes alternating in quadrants?

All these things are true. (bluebasser's being a little different situation as a lot of his subjugated are or will be in hand cuffs). But, as a manager (and maybe a father) part of the challenge is getting the most out of your employees. If you're expecting everyone to bend to how you want it, then everybody's going to end up frustrated. Better managers tend to be more willows than oaks. I have no idea where Raider's going with any of this.
  4. I think we're feeding a troll....Kobe, is that you?
  5. I'll stay out of the LebronMJ discussions; they're different players in different eras. I can't stand Lebron, but he absolutely carried that Cleveland team to six games in the NBA finals. He just didn't have enough gas to finish it. That was with the next 2-3 best players on the team out (I'm throwing Verajao in there). He took a bunch of "never was" players and made it to 6 games with GS, one ov the best teams in several years.
  6. Yeah I caught my biggest in early March...water couldn't have been over 45 degrees.
  7. What he said. Biggest freshwater fish I've ever caught was a Bue out of the Potomac near DC on a spinnerbait. Used to catch them within some regularity on swimbaits as well. They're big, voracious predators that handle temperature and salinity changes much much better than the other large predatory fish in the Potty. They are a hoot to catch, but they're multiplying quickly and out competing everything else.
  8. My "itch" is really more a "chronic rash". And the treatment gets expensive with Dr. Monkey.
  9. Check (especially) your top guide and make sure the insert is there, and not cracked or worn. Secondly, is this appoint in lakes with a shale/sharp rock substrate? I'd bet on your knot pulling, but after that I'd guess one of the two above if it's breaking at or near the knot.
  10. I had a suction cup mount on my sit-in kayak. I put it towards the back of the boat, behind the "waist" if you would. It works fine, not wonderful, not terrible. Make sure you tighten the nut holding the transducer, and zip tie the cord to something just in case the cup lets go or gets scraped off.
  11. Stay in Crystal City, pentagon City, or Old Town (or near the Eisenhower stop). You'll be on the Yellow/Blue line which will get you everywhere you'd really want to go. If you want to stay further out to save $$ on a room, drive to either Reagan National Airport or Pentagon City Mall, and park there. You'll pay for the parking, but it's comparable there to areas further out, and you'll be right at the Metro stops. You can park in the neighborhoods around King street metro, but there's a 3 hour limit on parking. We always liked the Marriot on Duke street in Old Town Alexandria. Easy metro access and you can walk or free trolley to a lot of the sites in Alexandria. They charge about $25 a day for gated parking, which is fairly standard. Stay away from the Green line, unless you're going to a Nats game. Also, do not try to drive in Georgetown. Just. Not. Worth it.
  12. Look at Widewater and many places along the Billy Goat Trail. There are quite a few ponds that are public, accessible, and loaded with bass. I know you're just a kid, but you're literally telling people to trespass to fish that pond. Buyer beware.
  13. Yeah...your problem there is that without permission you're trespassing. There are plenty of ponds in the Potomac flood plain in public areas around there that can spit out similar numbers of bass.
  14. Horrible thing to do to a nice blank.
  15. Strangely, I was using one this morning in Florida... My five year old and I were sharing a kayak in a very small tidal River, and instead of being about to use the 400 dollars of my Daiwa/Shimano combo, I ended up casting his $30 Zebco with a beetle spin for him most of the morning. Guess who caught the most fish? Fun rod for skipping that beetle spin into the mangroves. Some nice bass and even a long line release of a snook.
  16. So let me ask you this: if you snagged her by her face and drug her around for a few seconds, would that have been less stressful on you? Because I'm sure the bass doesn't care where she's hooked. If you're going to fish, and bed fish, it's going to happen. I hope you find peace.
  17. Maybe hand line a Muskie first.
  18. I find this post obscene.
  19. Walking towards us or away?
  20. I'd say if you're starting a new life, forget the new pet. You and Clayton should go in on a Whinery together.
  21. Just run the hook through the collar, wacky-style, and let. Him. Swim. Super-realistic rat wake bait.
  22. Maybe Raider's the one that taught her colors...
  23. For 1 to 2 oz baits, I use yozuri hybrid in 15#, but not the ultra soft, and it is more than enough, especially for the baits mentioned. You'd be surprised how much down-sizing your line helps glide baits.

Oh good lord....you sound like my wife... Go to an international grocery and buy a couple pounds of beef tendon. Stick that and a couple quarts of beef stock in your crock pot or a pot with a lid and park it at 275 for about 8 hours or until the tendons are tender. Strain out the tendons (you can eat them, but it's admittedly an acquired texture), season to taste, and drink a cup of that every morning. The gelatin and other proteins in it help keep your joints flexible and lubricated. Also, warm up, stretch, spend less time typing and maybe do a little yoga every now and again.
