The Most Expensive Lure You Lost
Two Deps 175s within about 10 minutes of each other on my first fishing trip in NC. One had been my favorite for years.

Lost My Dad Yesterday
I hate these posts of family matters, but I felt like this would be therapeutic. I lost my dad yesterday after a long set of Illnesses. He never cured cancer or built a rocket, but he was the most genuine person I've ever known, and one of the most kind hearted souls on the earth. And he instilled that in me. He also taught me to play baseball and to fish, two of my great passions. My great memories are of he and I getting up before dawn, going to an old bait shop/gas station on Forestville-Irene Road outside of Memphis and getting some bait and fried pork tenderloin biscuits, and then going and fishing Herb Parson or Monterrey Lake. Every time I smell a faint stale cigar tobacco smell or open a pack of worms I still go back to those mornings. He was so patient in teaching me to fish and I learned so much about everything else in life on those trips. Part of what measures a man is what he leaves. Three sons, all of us valedictorian or salutatorian, all of us will have college degrees (younger bro has a semester left), and have great jobs, and two of us have our own wonderful families started. He may not have been the most impressive man in life by some scales, but somehow he turned out a tremendous success, and I'm proud he was my dad. He will be missed.

Got Snow?
Being from Memphis, I think you forgot a decimal. Memphis shuts down at the idea of snow, much less any actual accumulation. However...ice storm '94 was no joke.

Curado D Series
I have three 200Ds that I use for regular small swimbait service. They are tanks.

Alright Deep, Let's Talk Structure!
Your point I'd probably a former ridge that was cut through for the road, and they probably took some off the top for fill dirt. If they're spawning on the point, they're feeding someplace close. I'd love a wind from the top left into the inside corner of the point, blowing food through between the point and hump. That saddle would be the spot within the spot for me, unless there's still some stumps or boulders on the hump. Nice area though

How To Make Any Knot .....not...... Slip.
If your braid knot slips significantly, that half hitch will cut through your line when it comes tight. Same with fluoro. It may save you for a short while, but tie right with the right knot and re-tie often.

Wilderness Guys: Is This A Decent Starter Kayak Deal?
That's a pretty durn good deal assuming everything's in good shape. Not going to get a lot better for the price. You'll barely notice the extra foot or so, except for her added weight.

Dropping Anchor In A Yak
"Dropping anchor" is a euphemism for going #2... I thought this was going to be a "balancing a kayak when nature calls" thing...

Best Bait Casting Rod For $102.50
The problem I'm having is finding a left handed rod...plenty of righties out there, but they might as well be unicorn horns.

This is also false. I want that training to start in utero. Birth is too late to expose the fetus to the find arts. Even in the womb that fetus can learn the different tapers and be indoctrinated into the joy of fine cork.

Best Bait Casting Rod For $102.50
While I have found this to be very true, I have found some very serviceable rods in the $7-$42 price range. They may not do anything well, but they do hurt less when I snap them boat flipping dinks. Which is all I catch. If I catch anything. Ever.

Best Bait Casting Rod For $102.50
I've see those North Korea models. Word on the street is that they're not very accurate and cast jus splash down. Also heard someone caught five world records in a day on them, may have been that Kim Jong guy. Must be why his name's on it.

Best Bait Casting Rod For $102.50
I heard the shima"no fish" rods were junk, so I don't want one. What's a good Shakespeare, berkley or Jerry Garcia rod in that range? Maybe a Loomis, but I hate the GL2s even though I've never fished them. I've got $106.85 now after looking in my car.

Best Bait Casting Rod For $102.50
I've had the Spider-man, but setting the hook in the grass really was a chore. Plus the line was kinda sticky. Also, I found $3.75 and some coupons that have so small cash value, so the budget has opened up a bit...
