Which spinning rod for senkos
With a 6" Senko, I'd go with at least a MH rod. Check out these: G Loomis BSR803; Loomis SJR783; St. Croix AVS66MHF; St. Croix LES66MHF; Powell 684 MHXF. All of these rods are under 7'0". I went with these because the lengths seem to be most common amongst fishermen. All of the manufacturers above make a 7'0" MH spin rod as well.

Does a name make you buy or not buy a certain brand?
Love the Caddyshack references bilgerat.

Does a name make you buy or not buy a certain brand?
As far as baits and soft plastics are concerned, no. I have kept my BPS and Cabela's master fishing catalogs for the past ten years or so. I like to look back at the products of the major bait companies, and see which 'new, best ever, most fish catchingest' baits have gone the way of the dodo. Every year reputable tackle makers release a few new baits, or a new line. Some are winners, a lot are losers.

I've been polishing off one of the several boxes of See's chocolates we buy every year for the holidays.

Fishing Netbait's New Baits?
You could always give Lake Columbia a shot. It's the only year round open water in Cheeseland. Unless they've installed one in the past year, I don't believe there is a launch. Give it a look on www.lake-link.com.

An interesting Shimano tidbit...
Burley Burley Burley. Your 'discovery' isn't the type of thing you admit to others, much less on an open forum. Where have you been? That's day one stuff. Even the slow kid next-door who was born with water on the brain knows about Shimano's system, and he doesn't even fish. ;D You really earned your graham cracker and milk tonight.

Yes, and trolling reels T. Are you simply agreeing with Sam, and your question has not been answered, or are you saying that he answered your question?

Your thoughts on the looks of the New Chronach
I hear you. Unfortunately someone told Shimano that all southpaws have been wiped out by the toxic Lefty Influenza.

Deps Radscale 2004 Limited
I picked one of these up a few weeks ago on Ebay. This specific model is not like the regular walk-the-dog Radscale, rather it has two Jitterbug-like bills on the face. It almost resembles an Imakatsu BT100, only the two bills are not bent at an angle like on the Imakatsu; they are more rounded like a Jitterbug. Any comments on this unusual model Radscale?

Shakey Head Go-to Baits
I caught more shaky head bass in 08' on the Berkley Power Shaky Worm than any other plastic. I can't wait to see the slim Powerbait version too. I picked up quite a few packs of the Berkley hand-pours this past fall, and I can't wait to give them a shot this spring as well.

gulp alive
I haven't heard too much praise for this bait as far as largemouth are concerned, at least in these parts. Although I have to say the walleye guys do quite well tipping leadheads with the minnows and leeches, and the nightcrawlers on a worm harness. Guys are also KILLING brown trout around here with the minnows.

Shad Rap type cranks?
I've always done well with the Reef Runner Ripshads.

Me vs. Baitmonkey on ebay
Fleabay has been killing me too. Just this week alone I've bought a Xcalibur XS4 stickbait, two Sammys, three BDS 2's, a Deep-X 100, and three Prop Darter 80's. Had I not fallen asleep an hour before the auction ended, I would have ended up with a new Techna AV too.

-11 degrees
A heat wave is coming, this weekend it's supposed to get into the 20's. Time to break out the short pants. Right now the actual temp is -14* The good news is the wind chill warning is supposed to be lifted later today.

G Loomis Muskie Rods????????
For some reason I thought I read or heard they were revamped. Definitley don't quote me on that. Perhaps some time ago I saw them on clearance at a few places and put two and two together. :-/

Storm Thunderstick - Any Good?
Yeah the old ones are sweet. IIRC Dave's Kaboom got the old molds when Rap bought Storm, so those bills are still molded. My local Gander had a number of the Kaboom's in their clearance bins too, so might be worth checking out. http://daveslures.com/homepage.html Those are killer 'eye baits around these parts; they're staples around Green Bay and on Winnebago.

Netbaits's New Baits for 09, WOW!
After fishing Netbait plastics almost exclusively last year as jig trailers, I'm sold. Can't wait to pick up some of the new products. When do they hit the shelves?

No love for the G-Splash?
Thanks for all the feedback guys. 8-)

Daiwa Sol
I agree but do you consider a St. Croix S70MF a finesse rod? That's why I suggested the 2500, for long casts with senkos and other plastics.
