Pouring lizards and toads
I'm hand making my molds out of metal, i'm making them in my engineering class, and then doing all the touch up with dad's tools, he's into the auto buisness so we've got every, air and electrical powered tool on the planet. I already pour jigs and weights so i've made molds and know the process to a degree. But since Vancouver isn't to big on the bass fishing no store stocks good plastics. all hard salt water crap. Your lizards look great, and ur molds look good too, but since i'm only doin toads and lizards they dont need to be to intricate. Reaction baits. Any tips or advice i need to know? I haven't worked with rubber alot, 3 times to be exact, so anything would be great.

if you had only one lure to fish with ?????????
Jig, i can fish it deep, up shallow, around structure, hook it up to a buzzbait or spinnerbait. pretty versatile

Pouring lizards and toads
Hey guys, a couple questions before i start my new project. I'm getting ready for this summer, lots of topwater where i'm goin. Should i use plastic, lead, or metal molds? What rubber/plastic should i use for pouring? other than recycling old rubbers. I'm tired of paying $4+ for a topwater bait.

Flourocarbon vs. Mono
I like mono better, why fix something if its not broke

i wanna step up my game
i hate to contradict u but i dont own a single 1 piece rod. even my 6'6 is 2 pieces, and they all have quality components because they're built by quality companies. St.Criox, Fenwick, Templefork, Loomis, Sage. Like u said u get what u pay for, i payed for good 2 piece rods and i got just that. Anyways, i've found abugarcia to be a dependable company.

i wanna step up my game
get one of the abugarcia max edition reels, i have the pro edition and i love it. it cost me $95, if u get the silver or black they're something like $50 and $65 super good reels for the price.

Mono for frog fishing?
I use both, if i'm fishing thick slop then i use braid cus i got another 5lbs of what ever on with the fish, if i'm fishing lilly pads clear water, nothing bellow mono comes out cus ur not haulin in 20lbs of weed and mud. For braid i'll use 50lbs cus its still super thin and i can depend on, and even if it has a little abraision to it it'll hold. (and its what we have most of here at the tackleshop) For monofilament i'll stick with 15lbs.

Finesse stuff
senko wacky rigged, sight fish them when they're on the beds all spooky. Drop it right next to them and just barely get the ends moving until u brush up against the fish, then wait for them to eat it

I think spinnerbaits and crankbaits are the most versitile baits out there.

Need advice on this jon boat please..
good boat, large and wide seats means less structure/framing = less weight. Good looking boat for a mod. Take the boat and trailer, leave the motor, get one that u know where and how its been used, no point in wasting $400 on a junk motor when that $400 could get u a couple new Abu's If u get to see the motor and determine its good then take it
-
Google Earth
I've got it, and now i found this channel that no one fishes cus u have to plow through the thickest weed/lilly pad bed ever. cant run a prop need to paddle through with the oars in the jon boat. biggest bass came out of there all 7lbs of her, canadian bass aren't half as big as American our record is something like 8 1/2lbs

Winter Strategy
Rock piles, and deep depression/holes. Using a jig, lizard, or dropshotting

Favorite Baitcaster
Abu 6500C3 because i have hauled coho salmon up to 22lbs on it. Abu 5500C3 because i landed steelhead, and all salmon species on it Abu EXT because its the smoothest round design baitcaster out there Abu Revo is just good, smooth, strong, reliable... and cheap Abu Max casts a mile and a half, fast retrieve and can cast everylure in all my tackle boxes and vests with it. Salmon, steelhead, trout, bass every spinner, spoon, jig, worm, crank, spinnerbait, bla bla bla I love all my abu's, Only reel i own that isn't an abu is my diawa spinning reel.

epoxying a jig
glue them or epoxy them to the jig head and then clear coat the whole thing 2 or 3 times
-
winter and late fall trout
if it works stick with it. No point in changing until the fish run out. I do alot of trout fishing and find that what i mentioned works, but there are little tricks to those techniques that make them work
-
trap and divers
ur to good for your own good
-
Your "go-to" bait when fishing is really good...???
Buzzbait, shallow crank, soft plastic toad
-
more balsa
how much do u charge per crank?
-
another plate of baits
I'll take a few!
-
Wood baits
Thanks, ya i figured thats where the balast weight should go, and i have the lip at 35 degrees to make them run shallow, i love watching them run just over weeds or branches and have a bass come and hammer them.
