well what about if im gonna do more cranking than topwater, does a 7' MH rod sound good? Also what reel speed would be appropiate?

I want a rod that i can use for topwater, like popers or zara spooks. I also want that rod to be able to be used for crankbaits. I'm pretty new to this sport and i dont know too much about rods, if you could just tell me like what kind of action or length i would need, that would be helpfull.

So i plan on buying a baitcaster this summer for swimbait/spinners/buzzbaits. I wqas thinking about pairing an Abu Garcia Black Max with a 7' MH Basspro Shops Extreme XPS Trigger rod What do you think about this combo? Im willing to spend up to $90 for the rod or reel.

I'm going on vacation for a week, and by what the weather says, we are in for a few days of rain. So, what r some things i should try when it starts to rain, or there are dark clouds overhead?

as im reeling in a bait i usually say " come on, come on, come on!" and then when im using soft plastics, i usually get crazy pictures of fish sitting around my worm just kinda lookin at it... and ill say things under my breath like "oh my god...." "why don't you bite?"

im going to a lake for vacation and there is quite a bit of a drop off. goes from 5ft-10ft-15ft-65ft. the deepest point is 70 ft. i dunno if bass will go this deep and am wondering if they would be downthere? mabey a dropshot aproach?

95% of my fishing is with spinning rigs. No real need to go to $300.+ baitcasting reels. Not if the objective is to just catch fish - IMO! X2 ;D

I've built up a collection of spinnerbaits due to the baitmonkey....but I do not really know how or where to fish them, also im wondering if they work good in clear water?

sounds good to me! Keep that bait monkey at bay too, he will make you spend that $200 and more if you don't watch yourself.

What kind of hooks do you use, ive seen the kind that have a weight on them that i think are supposed to keep them running upright?

rules shmolz . i use pumpkin seed and motoroil in muddy water all the time, they are my main colors, never once have i used a chartruse or pink worm in muddy water!

I hear that swimbaits catch some HUGE fish but what about 1-3lb bass, will they eat them too? There arn't a whole lot of really big fish but every so often I catch one, but the usual is like 1.5lbs. are swimbaits worth my attention? They sure do look neat!

while me and my family were cleaning my great uncles garage, we didnt know what we would find, well som1 found a very old rod and reel, my uncle had got it a garage sale. okay so lemme tell you what it says on the rod: LA BELLE( the nice translated), there was somthing else that looked like JEWLLE but it was hard to tell. thts all i could relly see, i know it was old cuz it had the cotton line. ill try to get pictures and post, any info is highly apreaciated!

i like the fight the most, it's sometimes like a suprise bag, some small bass feel like there 4x the size they really are, and then ive had a few really big ones that almost don't fight at all, just a few shakes here and there, so when the fish jumps or you land him is when you get to see what ya won, fighting the fish gets my adrenaline going

well im really not sure one the size, but the place i fish at is off of lake st clair. and i fish around some docks, rip-rap, and seawalls

im using a 7 inch worm(motoroil) with a 1/16oz weight I slowly hop the worm back an usually they hit just like that.

i have been fishing an area were i can catch atleast 5 or 6 a day. and thats a normal day, but now i do everything the same, and i can't produce any bass. the weather has gotten a little colder and it has been raining a lot. I thought that rain makes the water dirty, which causes the bass to go into shallower water, so i went to the shallows and still nothing. Can anyone help me with my dilema here?
