  1. If anyone is interested BP has a reel for $30..I dont know anything about the quality but it might make a good beginner for a newbie.. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CFPage?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&appID=439&promoID=ms195&cm_ven=Redirects&cm_cat=promo&cm_pla=reel&cm_ite=ms195 Dont know if the link will work

  4. I have clusters and if I slam a warm Red Bull the headache is not as strong.. But my favorite Monster is the low carb,in the summer I buy it by the case at Sams Club
  5. A few ponds here in Illinois are like that...by summer it looks like you can walk across them but the bass are still there..I think the bass are feeding better because they can hide and use the weeds to ambush.. The sportsmens club I belong to started going down hill with the quality of bass we were catching. We had the DNR come in and do an electro survey which showed alot of smaller stunted bass. We then went back and looked at the harvest books and found that nobody was keeping any bass for the last few years..there were to many bass competing for the same food.. We started taking 14" and under bass out and the last couple years things have started coming back around.. I'm not saying this is whats happening in your situation,it may be that it is fished out but dont be surprised if everyone else is practicing C&R and its hurting the fishery
  6. As soon as the ice melts here the first thing I'll tie on is a Red lipless crankbait then a colorado blade white spinnerbait and slow-roll it
  7. Took my pointer with me once,1st cast he jumped in after the lure.Get his wet butt back into the boat and 10 minutes later he lifted his leg and peed on my console. Back to the ramp we went
  8. LOL...I thought it was just me,I have to show this to my GF because she thought it was just me
  9. I do the same thing but keep my rods in rod socks and my reels in neoprene covers
  10. On the river smallies here I rig Yum crawbugs with a standup jighead..I use a hopping retrieve like the craw is trying to escape
  11. I use the same setup for worm fishing..I can see every little movement of my line
  12. I use both, took some time getting use to the lefty but it's all the same now..You can find some cheap lefty's on ebay
  13. has anyone tried the Minn Kota batteries that are made by Trojan?? Are they the same batteries but have differant labels??
  14. I tried them and didn't like them..I think I still have some in a box somewhere
  15. I've been getting them for a couple years also..spring fishing and fall hunting..Haven't recieved mine yet, going to have to make a call
  16. I use the Daiichi bleeding bait trebles from Cabelas..$24 for 100
  17. Mine came from Wildlife Creations and I love it www.basspro.com/wildlifecreations
  18. I dont have mine insured but in the winter I take pics of all my gear showing whats in each Plano
  19. Look for Blemished yaks.. I bought my Otter Xt at Gander cheap because the decals were peeling.. Any yak you look at sit in it/on it to see if its comfortable..A hard seat can make for a long day.. Some things I looked at when shop were how the seat adjusted, seat comfort, foot braces, weight and how my assecories were going to mount. Read the reviews http://www.paddling.net/Reviews/
  20. I replaced my bearings on my Curado with APEC 7's,alot smoother
  21. Alot easier than you think...You would have to work real hard to tip mine over I bought my other yak for my 8 y/o daughter and my gf who's never been on the water in anything..8 y/o does great on the pond. GF,now thats another story, it took an hour to figure out what the foot braces were for, after that she was good..
  22. I live by a great smallmouth river and bought 2 Old Town Otter XT's sit-ins last year.. The yak I use has 2 Roberts flush-mount removable rod holders in back for spare rods and 1 mounted in front..Since I'm river fishing theres not much tackle to take.. Keep tackle, camera and food in a dry bag and a gallon of water is all I need.. I put in and go down river and fish all day..when I'm done there are a few bridges I can take out at and then call for someone to pick me up.. I can fish all day and not see another person
  23. Look for a reel that lays the line on criss cross instead of laying it flat..Years ago Mitchell made a reel for Spiderwire called the Spidercast..Some Wallyworlds still carry it
  24. I read on tackletour an artickle about Pinnacle who makes alot of the house brand reels
  25. 100 % CPR Had a 8.5 I released and had a replica made..I think the replicas look alot better.. A couple years ago the sportsmans club I belong to needed to thin out the smaller bass so I took 3 home to eat and thought they tasted like crap(nothing like crappie) so after that ,the bass I kept were transfered to a new pond
