Good for you. Glad to hear that it swam off. I've witnessed a few guys do stuff like that after a tournament. I think it's great when people are willing to take that extra step.

Sounds like you had a good trip. You weren't too far from me either. You could has visited the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) campus where those stupid birds will fly right into you.

Hey you should really put this in the boating section. Alot more people will see this over there. But my buddy has one mounted by his dash on a ram type mount. He has the networked into his front fish finder. Works out really well for him. The reason I'd put it there is because of the maps it comes with.

Again guys thanks for the kind words. Well I just finished my last interview about 3 hrs ago. Went really well especially when he did the usual "tell me about yourself." Obviously fishing came up. It turned out he used to live in Texas and fished there. So that led to about 5 minutes of fishing talk. It was pretty cool because after that he kept trying to work it into all my questions. It'll be interesting to see what happens with this one. bassdocktor

I remember watching the Rend Lake tournament that cart7t mentioned. It was kinda cool because they were showing how the prepared the boats for the races. Beside the stuff mentioned they stripped out everything they could and pulled off the trolling motors too. I think that was the first time I ever saw one of those counter rotating props too.

Thanks guys. Yeah Tokyo Orgo isn't alot of fun. It also depends on the teacher too. The downside is that with all of the studying I won't be able to visit here as often.

Came home yesterday after being out of town to see a letter in the mail. Little nervous but............ I got accepted into pharmacy school. I'm still waiting to hear from 2 more that are closer but I have to go to one for an interview tomorrow. Man I was surprised since they said it would take atleast 2 weeks and they had my letter in the mail 3 days after my interview. The best part is that I don't have to finish my undergrad degree. I'll get out a year early and start working on my pharmD.

If I remember correctly the reason Ranger stopped being with BASS was because of the WCF or what ever it was called. It was the tournament circuit that was based on fishing and boat racing. As I remember reading BASS started to support that organization and Ranger got kinda mad. They felt it was promiting unsafe boating practices.

I think that he'll start working behind the scenes much like IRS or Slaughter. I can't see him up and leaving after this long.

No unfortunately I never made it up there. By the time we got to Michigan it was 4ish. Alot of snow came late yesterday morning in Chicago so that delayed us by several hours. Sounds like some good deals. I saw on the website 2 of the guys weren't able to get in. They've really been doing alot with changing tackle lately. Pretty much you can find whatever you need there. Did you hear any of the guys giving seminars? I guess on the upside I did get to ride my snowmobile for a short trip this morning.

I hate to say this but a recession is part of our natural business cycle. It may sound bad to some people but the up side is that it has always been followed by an expansion. The other proplem is the falling value of the dollar. This is one of the reason we are seeing the prices of stuff like gold and oil going through the roof. Basically, it is taking more dollars to buy the same amount of oil or whatever, inflation. This is also a big part of what we are currently seeing. Its something important that no one touched on. Taking a monetary theory class right now is pretty cool because we get to look at all of this stuff. Droping the interest rates could potentially help us out of a recession. Or we could actually raise them and that theoretically would help the dollar value. bassdocktor

NaterD, it is and it isn't. African Greys can get picky about who they like. I helped hand feed it and now it only like my mom. If I walk past the cage it tries to bite me. However, it is cool to listen to the bird. She associates stuff so ypu'll say goodbye to some one and she'll say it back. OR..... she'll hear the dogs do something bad and start yelling at them. That is definitely pretty cool.

NaterD, that actually happens all the time. We've known some people that have had this happen to them. African Greys actually pick stuff up really quick. My mom's will pick stuff up in as quick as a week or 2.

Well guys I think it will be great if it happens. I really think that it will come together nice. They are talking with some large sponsors (corporate) and if those come through this will be very exciting. Alot of the success will come from anyone that volunteers. Anyone that gets to take part in this will be pretty lucky, both anglers and volunteers.

Just wondered if anyone will be heading up there this weekend? I think I'll be there Saturday. Classes are in the way for me on Friday.
