Question for the IL fishermen...
Hey Shelbyville has alot of nice places to stay too. Heidecke Lake also comes to mind if you are looking for a retal, prob just a day trip since you are over in the burbs. Also agian just a day trip but Tampier and Maple lake in the Cook County Forest Preserves also rent boats. Those are either gonna be row or electric. I'm sure Wisonsin would have more options especially if you are looking for a weekend trip.

When is it time to get the boat out?
For fishing in Chicago the rivers like the Chicago and Cal Sag are good. Plus we've always got the big lake.

Anybodie that makes balsa or wood bodies please read
It should still be up because I went to it the other day. Maybe some updates.

Anybodie that makes balsa or wood bodies please read
I can't get the page to load right now but I'm 90% sure that www.barlowstackle.com has what you are looking for. I know they have the plastic but I'm almost positive they have some wood ones too.

Too Much Tech?
The GPS is nice for remembering a spot on a lake you don't get to fish often, maybe once a year. Plus with the map it is a great navigation aid. Now you can get card or preloaded maps which are pretty nice. It gives you one more map with contours you can use. Most trails it seems don't allow the cameras. I'd like one for when I go out to have some fun. It'd be nice to see what is actually under the water and many people use them to better learn their fishfinders. The side new stuff by Humminbird seems cool but is not something most people buy. Again it'd be cool to have but only time will tell if it takes off like GPS has. Biosonix seems like an interesting idea. You also have to wonder how much it works and how much it just builds confidence. I belive somewhere I read that leaving it on too long will actually scare fish away. It'd still be cool to try out one day.

The culvert gator
GatorBK, thanks for the info. Interesting read. I didn't realize how greatly the population of the gotors has rebounded. I didn't realize how much the price for the skin has gone down too. I guess being in the Midwest I didn't realize they can be such a problem. I only see the occasional story when it is a very very large one. It was cool to read about the program. Thanks

changing atv jet kits?
Check you PM I'll send you a link to a pretty good place for ATV info. I think some kits do come with instructions although I've never done it so I'm not sure.

The culvert gator
That's one big boy. Looks like you've been busy lately with all those pics. Thanks for answering what happens to it afterward on that other post. Just made me wonder. That must have made a good ending after such a long day for you.

Need Advice!! Airplanes & small children
Ear Planes. Go to Walgreens or any pharmacy and they should have them. Good for the entire family. They keep you from having any ear pain and will make you flight more comfortable. Basically just special earplugs.

New 2009 Corvette
Popeye sounds like quite the list of cars. Over the last few years I've been looking for something to redo but at the same time learn how to redo. I've looked at quite a few of the cars you mentioned but, they never seem to be wroth what the people want especially since the cars are missing quite a few parts. Along the lines of the SuperBee they had the Charger SRT8 SuperBee at the autoshow too. Coolest part was that it had the bee on emblem on it.

St Johns river catch
I've gotta ask what do you do with these guys afterward? That last one is a big boy.

New Bass Movie

cheap crankbaits
Aot of people don't like the Berkley Frenzy and have problems with them but, I've caught quite a few fish on them. Not my first choice but a good buy when they are on sale.

New 2009 Corvette
I don't know if you are a Dodge fan or not but in person the new Challenger is very impressive. I saw that yesterday at the auto show and it looks alot like the original. I was really disappointed it was roped off so you couldn't sit in it.

New 2009 Corvette
Catt I've seen pictures of that car before and I think its quickly becoming my reminder of why I need to get into and finish pharmacy school.

New Bass Movie
That movie or rumors of it seem to keep coming up occasionally here too. But, nothing ever happens with it.

When is it time to get the boat out?
Crankhead. I know some guys that have been out on Lake Michigan during January. Seems that most people in the Chicago area seem to start in April if they can. I'm kinda tired of all the snow too. Everyday we get just a little more or rain.

New Bass Movie

New 2009 Corvette
Hey guys the Chicago autoshow had the ZR1 and the pictures do it no justice. It looks great if you get to see it up close. Well as close as they let you get. That one was roped off. The blue they had was really nice. And Redline they had the GT-R. Definitely was a nice looking car too. Had a pretty large crowd of people around it.
-
Would you drive this car?
Hey guys just got back from the Chicago show and this was there. Was alot better than the pictures make it look. Little small than I would have thought. Had alot of little stuff that you'd have to see to appreciate. Looked like it had piggy back shocks off of an ATV. Looked pretty cool in person.

Do you use 4wd while pulling your boat out?
The only time I find it necessary is on some of the gravel ramps when a bunch of guys launched before me the ramp starts looking like soup. Might be able to get by without it but tears up the ramp alot less.

BPS Rick Clunn baitcaster
My dad had 2 of the old 6.2:1 or 6.3:1 what ever they were and they worked out well for him. He's had one for several years now. I'm sure they've gotten better. If I were looking for a BPS reel I'd look at them.
