  1. Strike king midnight special black/ blue
  2. to state the obvious, you can't cast that far into the wind and it gets pretty old if its blowing in your face. its tough to feel bites on slow moving lures with a big bow in your line. Lures don't track straight when your line bows and you'll need a 3/4 oz weight to keep a lure on the bottom without it drifting. Windy days can be great fishing under cloudy skies but bluebird skies means less bites (cold front). My prediction is it will be a great day fishing if you can figure 'em out By the way its not a basic question. good luck
  3. 3/8 oz strike king char skirt small colorado silver and larger willow gold sounds like most of us agree white or translucent is my 2nd choice
  4. swimbaits and c-rigs but I'm gonna make an effort in figuring them out this year The when, how, where and what are the tough questions for me

  8. Yeah the assoc. would love to have that info.--they are on the board to protect the lake--bring pics to them if you can I don't know if there are different classifications for "private" but the state does have jurisdiction on the private lakes that I fish. I know this because I've seen them hand out tickets.
  9. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1205161454/28#28 Try this
  10. I think they stink. I went to 2 lakes and fished the spots in that season and used lures like they recommend and nada. It may be a rough guide to seasonal patterns but I do better using my intuition. sorry Tin
  11. I went to a BASS seminar in Mass. a couple years ago and KVD was asked if he was gonna challenge him and he said they spoke about it and it may happen someday (not) KVD also said Moore was a smart businessman and probably makes more in a half hour than KVD does in a weekend Moore would never do it b/c Kvd would smoke him
  12. The way I see it we have 3 choices 1. Eat the bass you catch, then be bored next year when they are extinct 2. Catch and release 3. Don't fish (you know that aint gonna happen)
  13. There may be a poaching hotline for you to call if they are breaking rules. It would be in your states angler guide. I don't like when people overfish like that...if you're so hungry go but a pound of pasta for $1
  14. Just a matter of time before they are in every body of water in the US and I sure hope the Gov't is aggressively persueing eradication of the species to protect our species
  15. Just went Sat. and caught 5 bass in 3hrs 2 were on the same jerkbait at the same time both 3lbs and I wasn't fishing that slow, 2 sec pause, 2 hard jerks 1 on 1/2oz black jig 4lb 1 on texas rig zoom worm cut to 3", 4lb 1 on mepps spinner with 6" plastic worm trailer 5lb this spinner produces consistantly in cold weather All fish were on rocks or rocky points
  16. The IGFA a already rejected his application for the record or he withdrew the application but either way it will never be recognized as a world record for 2 reasons 1. it was never properly measured and weighed 2. it was not legally caught But it is huge: he can bearly hold it up and the bass' belly is straining to not pop out of its skin
  17. Oh yeah , his name is chigger--he's hilarious
  18. I guess its unanimous even ice fisherman use them
  19. D.I.N.K = dual income no kids I no longer qualify
  20. I'm just saying that I've heard conficting reports over the years like only 25% go back 50% go halfway and 25% stay near the release spot. I'm just sayin'.
  21. I don't know how old this article is but for those who don't know the details, here's some info. Hopefully someone comes up with a good plan soon. http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=58344
  22. I'm sure glad eastern CT doesn't have any big lakes for those gas guzzlers and the state is small which helps for the gas guzzling V-8s too My fun trips cost me $1 in electricity to charge my batts for my trolling motor only lakes and $25 in lures lost to pickerel My tourneys cost me $10 in gas and $40 total for my entry fee and the boater For 3rd place I win $30 so its lose-lose
  23. I finished forth last year in my first tourney in my club out of 13 boats As it turns out, I score best in the second half: it takes me 4 hrs. to warm up The end of my rookie year, I finished 2nd in points. I only got 3rd twice and the rest were forths and fifths. I got my limit almost every time throwing senkos.
