  1. Man I love rip rap and jigs . I would bet I tie 300 knots a day in a tourney. I took a buddy fishing and he was like how do you tie so fast. (trilene knot). I have this thing about knots kinda OCD.
  2. Tritons use rubber plugs no valves. When my wells fill I shut off the fill pumps and run the recirc pumps on timed (unless its really hot). I know other guys have similar probs with the Tritons. I love my boat and the livewells work great otherwise.
  3. Throw a tube or senko all around the outsides of it and on top and let it fall off with a slack line. Watch for the pop on your line while on freefall. and like muddy says throw a medium or deep crank all around it.Even over it . The crank will bang off the sides and bottom triggering a reaction bite. If it hangs up give it a little snap and it usually will come free. I fish a area with van sized boulders and they will hold large concentrations of fish. Watch your line though these boulders shred it up sometimes I retie after cast if the fish are in the rocks.
  4. there is some loss in the holeshot but maybe just a few gallons at most. It is a rocket out of the hole but in the sustained up and downs of big wave it loses alot, quite alot into the bilge
  5. Mavrik. There is a bass club literally in your back yard. They meet at the meet once a month at the On Tap on 59. they fish about 10 tourneys a year there. It's where I cut my tourney teeth. Alot of good knowledgable guys. And you don't need a boat. YOU can be a non boater you just have to share fuel expences. They also go to Lake St Clair Canada once a year. They fish Tappan,Mosqito,Berlin,Fairport Harbor and some others. My father still fishes with them. They start next month so you would need to be at the next meeting. I could meet you there and introduce you if you would like..
  6. when it is on manual fill yes. On timer it will pump in on schedule til full
  7. Why do my Triton livewells dump water in rough water 3-4 foot waves ? I have tried to plug the oveflows and run the live well constantly but that doesn't seem to work. Any ideas? They don't lose an ounce in flat or choppy water
  8. Two full thottles on the way .A V-8 while waiting to blast off, and berry rain gatorade throughout the day.
  9. $1200 could buy a whole lot of tackle, a small boat,a subscription to every bass mag and like six gallons of gas. $1200? LOL Meet me at Lake Erie and I will put you on hundreds of 4 pound+ smallies for three days! Like fishizzle I would vote no!
  10. The ODNR will make the rip rap outside the launch and the dam off-limits because of the boating traffic. I am fishing there April 6 and can fill you in on the water levels which mean everything on this lake. Judging from the heavy snowmelt and rains it should be near full pool. Generally it is a long rectangular shaped dish with very little off shore structure. Plan on flippin.
  11. If you are coming up here and know anything about buckeye or rocky fork i would be willing to share some info with u my friend!
  12. And I am a Christian. I helped that club turnaround by bringing in fresh blood. Just the infusion the needed. They gave me leeway for the smack talk because of the good thihgs I brought to the club. Besides even the older guys talked the smack too!
  13. You guys have the wrong impression of me. I have been fed my share of humble pie. But really I always took on the newer members under my wing and shared info. I tend to be cocky but that is just part of my confidence. I study and gather as much info as possible. I practice as much as possible and hone my skills. Weather its in my pool or at the lake on an off day
  14. when are you going to be fishing there?
  15. thetr20one wrote on Mar 17th, 2008, 7:21pm: At the club level here I found there to be more frontending than partner or open formats. Reasons here were the older gentlemen that lacked the skillset still had a competitive drive that refused to accept a hostile takeover by younger, more knowledgeble (YES, SORRY.) "kids". I was forced to non-boat for 5 tourneys when I started club fishing and about quit before I went on to win "MR. BASS" TOP TEN CHAMP and large and smallmouth lunker of the year 5 consecutive years. Plus the largest limit ever recorded in the club, largest yearly total and every other record in their book. Literally! (Another member that fished with me has the second largest total on their books) I always made sure my non boaters were on fish. Everyone knew the frontenders and dreaded to fish with them. I left and never looked back. My father still fishes with them and I still talk to some, but They didn't make any adjustments to keep younger guys and non-boaters comfortable. Now my prob is keeping my partner out of the trees. I dont care if he cast under my arm as long as he keeps his lure in action! I'm assuming "every other record in their book" does not include the trophy for the most humble angler x2 I would believe if you asked ANY of the anglers in the club they would tell you the absolutley opposite. I always kept them on fish, netted thier fish, shared lake and technique knowledge. I was well respected no Doubt about it friends.
  16. N.E. Ohio smaller, canals streams are open bigger lakes are getting there!
  17. Ya know Leo who in in the world needs a 50 foot 3000 horsepower boat in that that small of a bay? Other than the lagoons you cannot get very far away from their wake!
  18. O.K. I am honest as well. I just would like to make it a worthwhile trip for both of us! Or all of us we will have galleries now after all this!
  19. Don't need the attention, just a challenge! and to get out of the house still iced up here!
  20. O.k. but how do you know where I have fished and I don't know where you have fished. I hope you all understand my fit is more about a public figure acting poorly and mean no malice to anybody in here. I would have said the same of any elite angler that acts this way. That wasn't an Italian attack in any way. Lets do it 6 hours 3 fish minimum
  21. Allegheny river?
  22. How about mosqito or the big lake?
  23. Sure muddy I have no prob with that. Can you do Ohio? or You want more of a in between I can only make it a day long trip! I love a challenge! Sound fun really!
  24. No he has not done anything to me personally. Ever. He has never stirred me in anyway. Until today. Something just got in my head. Hey maybe I just have cabin fever or something. I have never wanted to read anything Mike has written. I did listen to him at a seminar intently (04' I think) and took mental notes. I don't hate HIM,just the antics. I called my brother in law who is just as goofy as me, and he thought like me. The photo is hilarious (i.e. a joke). He moved me because I know and you know he has a classic title an AOG title and little respect from his peers. So it seems. I do have a daughter 7 she fishes with me whenever I am not in tourneys or practicing intently for a tourney. she has caught a 4 pound 3 ounce smallie and a 3 pound 7ounce largemouth pb. How bout that! I would not leave her to watch Ike in a fit. Just not an adult way to express yourself (sorry!) I also came from a neighborhood you would not walk through and have worked very hard to put myself into position to retire by 40. Hopefully. I don't believe in intimidation in fishing. I fish against fish and never have I worried about my area lake masters I can win anywhere against anybody! . I just put on my Ipod and fish. Losing myself in a zone. But for some reason there is always this thing called a smile on my face. Maybe it's because I am fishing and enjoying myself. That didn't sound right did it? What a firestorm. It's o.k. though I expected to catch it I guess. Maybe I was harsh a bit but I stand firm on the antics issues. It's a respect thing that's all. I don't really hero worship so I doubt I will change this view. He made his destiny I am making mine. We are kinda mirror images but in a GOOD/BAD way!
  25. My old club problably thought the same of me when I was whoopin them and gloating! Even though I earned the nickname JVD because I took fishing seriously and won seriously. If my daughter wouldn't have become ill I would be on tour now. But it will just make us all stronger and give me more drive to strive for greatness. I will be there just had a setback
