#1 confidence. I am pretty well rounded . I am comfortable with all baits, look at every body of water like it has bass waiting for me to catch them. They just me make find them. There are ways that I would prefer to fish but sometimes you have to fish the way the fish want you to!

I have never been to the potomc but my father and brother in law went there and had a awesome trip fishing for smallies. I think they fished fished the very upper portion. I think they were in drift boats. Good luck on the 26th. Is the are you are going to be fishing affected by the tide?

Well I got a late start this year and when we launched my boat that was the first time for the year. I felt better when I saw how many of the good guys I know blanked too. We just chalked it up to a nice day being out. I did catch two carp though and one was hooked in the back so I guess I did have some action. The one odd thing I did notice was the carp were in the shallows and the bass usually are there when they are but, I flipped my a-- off and came up with nothing. Oh well just another day. I know it happens

My only problem is this is the first time gettin skunked in like 4 years. I was the earliest I have fished in like 4 years too. If it stays warm this lake will be awesome in the next week or so. I have fished it more times than i can remember. Musta lost my mojo. Ilive 10 minutes from our next tourneys launch so I am not so worried about the next one. It can be tough in the spring too!!! I will have alot more practice by then. OOPs forgot Aba tourney on the 26th.

When we arrived at our first spot it was calm not more than ten minutes later a heavy east wind started blowing and didnt stop. water temp was 42 main lake but we found 49 later in the day in the coves. we fished rip rap, heavy blowdowns, brush you name it we fished it. I think we needed tho have this one next week!!!!

I have a tourney tomorrow the 6th at mosquito. I heard the water level was up.

Finally after a long winter I get to fish my first tourney of the year tomorrow the 6th . I have evertything ready to roll and am pumped. I have been waiting for this for weeks. We have had a 4 day warming trend and the fishing should be pretty good . I will post back tomorrow with the results.

yeah and the coffee and full throttles make you wish you had a bigger deck to pace!!!LOL!!!

We have alot of diverse lakes around here and get to use alot of methods. I would like to think I am pretty well rounded. My greatest weakness is gettin out of bed at 3 a.m.

I fish the maybe a little more than that. my batts are rated for 225 reserve and you are right maintenance is crucial and so easy. Batteries are the most forgotten component on the boat. a guy will take 20 minutes to wipe down has boat but wont take 5 to check the batteries.

I flip pretty beefy baits I usually use a 1/2 oz tru tungsten. it lets u go from flippin to pitchin without taking your hands off the rod.

If I am fishing deep and assuming the fish are not supending. I figure they are pickin cray fish on the bottom. if a crayfish lookin crank or jig gets you there then use them if not throw a caralina rigged tube, worm, or whatever u like !!

When I bought my Triton I looked at all brands. The Nitro and Pro-crafts rod lockers flex like plastic and are very thin. Not to offend anybody that owns them but Nitro and Pro-craft are not well built. Just look at the transom where your motor will be hanging and step on the rod lockers. Very weak! Champion is a great boat but they are slow. A friend of mine has an older Stratos and really likes it, but I personally think he is nuts. Look for a Triton. They are exceptionally well built, very fast and have a tranferable lifetime hull garantee. I just had some glass work in the bilge done from where my tm battery strap broke and cracked the fiberglass and it cost me a $50 deductable. Whatever boat you buy I am sure you will get used to any quirks so just make sure it is mechanically sound. Boats are an expensive hobby!!

A fully discharged 12 volt battery will register 10 or so volts . Replace it . if you have a two or three bank charger that charges them all and charged them they should register the same voltage. charge them put the prop in a bucket and run at low speed for a while then check the voltage. If the suspected battery is bad it wil have alot less charge left compared to the good one.

Simple! Fish in all weather conditions. Cold raining,sleeting snowing, heavy wind ,bluebird days, hellish stormy days, ya got to be comfortable in all situations. Get good set of raingear and you can fish in any weather!!!!!!
