Hey flash, I noticed Toray/Blackwater had a new fluoro coming out, so contacted Blackwater on FB and through their site. I asked which line would be the better choice for bottom bouncing and flipping to cover, their Super Hard Upgrade or their new BAWO Hard premium plus Hi-grade fluorocarbon? These are both of the replies I received:..... Hi Paul, Thank you for your interest in our line. The best line for the application you asked for would be out BAWO Hard premium plus Hi-grade fluorocarbon. Hey Paul, for flipping and bottom bouncing our go to line is the Super Hard Premium Plus Hi-Grade. It has all the strength you need for those methods in any Lake condition.. The Upgrade Line is also a very strong line but for what you mentioned Hi-Grade will do the job! I'll let you know what I think of it once it arrives and I've had a chance to test it on the water.

I'm a former XPS fan myself. For casting gear only, IMO it's a bit to stiff for spinning gear. 8lb was the absolute highest test I could get away with on spinning gear. Any higher and it would jump off the reel and I would get a few line twists here and there. I also noticed the current XPS has a manila tint to it, which I didn't like. I just bought Toray's Bawo Finesse Fluoro as well as Sunline's FC Biwaka Guide Special for spinning gear and really like them both a lot.

Improved clinch for Fluoro, Palomar for braid. I've never had knot issues. I'm also using Maxima for my Hudds now. A bit thick in diameter, but it's held up extremely well. Picked up some 60lb Sunline FX 2 Braid, Bue-Green. I'll be putting it to the test today.

Ha ha ha, I just placed an order for Toray's Bowa for my spinning gear. I may have gave the wrong impression in my first reply, Toray is a great product but I've lost more than one Hudd 68 dragging them on the bottom, so I am a bit bais now. LOL I like the 20lb Sniper for jigs and flipping a little better, the 16lb for big reaction lures. 16lb Shooter for crystal clear waters. I also love Sunline's new Reaction fluoro specifically made for reaction lures. It's smoke in color or as they call it" Stealth Grey."

flash, are you using Super Hard Upgrade or the Super Hard Premium Plus? Which one is the newer of the two? Thanks, Paul

If you like Seagar products you'd be blown away by Sunline, Toray and Magabass Dragon Call. I started out with Seagar, 4 years of failing was enough to never go back. High stretch, weak knots, low abrasion resistance.

I guess I should have also mentioned I'm using 20lb test Sniper.

I am a former XPS and Toray SU user. I'm a heck of a lot more accurate with Snipper which is due to it's extremely low memory, (cast a country mile) less friction through the guides, and have had zero problems with hook sets, and so far no problems with tinsel strength and most of the waters I fish are rock mines. I also believe Sniper is smaller in diameter as well. Like we've both said, "to each his own."

Most definitely braid territory there. Braid cuts through vegetation, where as fluoro will just grab and wrap. 60-65lb braid is my preference.

Dragon Call is without a doubt the best Fluoro I've ever used. Unfortunately the $$$$ makes it a rich mans product.

Thanks for your input Fl;sh, but been there done that. Wasn't impressed with Toray at all. To stiff with more memory than I prefer. Their Super Hard upgrade needed to be retied anytime I fished rock or heavy wood. One kink or nick= lost fish.With brief experience with Snipper it blows Toray away. Besides that if I was going to use Toray, for the money, XPS is a better bang for your buck, which made by Toray. I do appreciate your input though.

Thanks again guys. I was using Dragon Call and feel it's the best fluoro I've ever used, yet astronomically expensive! I tried the Sniper and Sunline's Reaction yesterday and very satisfied. Has anyone tried their FX 2 braid?

Unfortunately, now I can't make the 15th. I have a boarder coming 11th-16th that has aggression & fear issues and can't be left unsupervised with the other dogs.

I believe they picked Mashpee because it's centrally located for all, guys from NH MA and RI. Hour and a half ride for us.

Great because I was just about to drop out! I think my front troller is burning out batt's. The brand new Blue top optima only lasted 5 hours yesterday! Don't think I'll be taking my boat anywhere until I fix the trolling motor issue, run new wires on the trailer and install the guide-on's. Hopefully I'll have time this week.

Thanks for the info WRB! Water temps were 60* by 3pm. This pond normally puts out hefty bags, only one LM caught in 8 hours. There were a ton of floaters/dead 4" bait fish from perch, shiners and crappie. The Carp were rolling over/belly up on flats and rocks, they were others flying completely out of of the water. This happened to me last year on another small pond were the LM seemed non existent.

Wondering if anyone else has noticed on smaller bodies of water when the Carp are aggressively spawning the bass seem extremely spookey and hesitant.
