  1. MegaStrike's original jigs are made from Tin. Their E2's are made of lead. Bobby "Megastrike" is on this site, and should be able to verify. From their website: "The Evolution jig comes in two different series. Our original series is LEAD FREE(Made out of the finest Tim materials) Our E2 jigs(Evolution II) are made out of LEAD." http://www.megastrike.com/#!products/vstc2=evolution-lures
  2. I know I'm not supposed to post certain links but want to help fellow fishermen find lead-free options. Hope it's okay. Here ya go.... http://www.tacklesmi...px?ProductID=94 http://www.timmytoms...igs_174047.html http://rockyledge.com/ http://rockyledge.com/
  3. Sweet fish man! Especially this time on the year, and up north!!
  4. This is true. I spoke with MA F & W this morning. Jigs and sinkers are included in the ban, but spinners and Buzz baits are excluded. Over the next few weeks they will be updating their website with pictures of what is and what is not included n the ban. Keitech Jigs are great but the hooks are rather small for larger style trailers. These are all lead-free...http://www.leadfreejigheads.com/gpage2.html http://www.pca.state.mn.us/index.php/living-green/living-green-citizen/household-hazardous-waste/get-the-lead-out/get-the-lead-out-manufacturers-and-retailers.html Besides, the poster above me is a complete fruit cake, be afraid, be very afraid. ]
  5. Unfortunately, markers don't work with the new coating on the Super Slick.
  6. I've never tried SL Snipper FC, but heard decent reports so I just ordered a spool. The Dragon Call was appealing, but @ $33 per spool/88 yards I shied away. May I ask why you've chosen to use both the SL FC and the DC? I've been using Toray Super Hard Upgrade this season, good stuff, but a little to stiff, and to much memory for my liking. How's the abrasion properties of the DC?
  7. They actually used 14 different brand fluoro's during theses tests.
  8. I use to tie the Polomar knot with FC until I read Tackle Tours review. Now the only knot I use is the Improved Clinch, and very rarely have knots fail since I switched. TT's FC review>> http://www.tackletour.com/reviewfluorocarbon2.html
  9. I would assume that the Kenzen is similar to Power Pro's Super 8 Slick. I spooled up Slick in 50lb, normally I'll use 65lb. Loved the silence of the product, as well as how it just flew through the guides. Unfortunately, it broke twice in 20 minutes while flipping to wood, on branches that might have been a 1/4" in diameter. That was he end of that! Maybe I'll give the 65lb a try. With our understanding of colors and water clarity, I'm curious to know why both Seagar and PP chose a chartreuse-ish color for their new super lines. Not that this was a scientific test or anything, but my buddy was badly out fishing me with regular PP. As soon as I switched to regular PP, and Toray Super Hard Upgrade, I instantly started catching fish in the same spots I was just getting skunked in. I understand PP promotes Slick for specific applications as to blend with vegetation, the brown for wood etc. But seriously, how many fisherman can afford to swap out $50 braid every time the cover we fish changes.
  10. Worst season I ever had! Biggest fish of the year was a 7.6lb LM. Only won one T all year, but I guess that can be expected when experimenting with new lures and attempting to force feed them. Next year back to the ole stand-by's. Hope your season was a good one!
  11. Dirty Jig's line-up are hard to beat.
  12. We're having a small T this Sunday from 7-3pm on Wallum Lake in Douglas MA. We have 4-5 boats now, and con not exceed 10. If anyone one is interested just howl.
  13. Stop crying will ya. My advice, no more Sponge Bob poles!
  14. As it stands we have 6 T's lined up, 2 of which have already passed. We fish 2 ponds in RI Beach Pond(night T) and Bowdish Reservoir. The other T's have been in Fall River and Norton MA. Looking to add a few more T's in July August and October. Possibly adding the Agawam river(Wareham MA)to the list. If a club member(s) are interested in fishing a specific pond we add it to list to be voted on and majority rules. If you'd like more specific info shoot me a pm. Thanks, Paul
  15. Hi guys and gals, this a small RI & MA bass club that allows all size boats but restricted to a 5mph speed limit due to the members that have trolling motors only or smaller vessels. We currently have 3 full size rigs and the rest are either crawdads or 12-14ft Jon boats. We tend to fish the smaller bodies of water from 300 acres or less. There is no membership fee or dues. We currently have about 12 members/6-7 boats and would love to see the club grow to Ten boats. We run a teams/singles format with a 5 fish limit. If your looking for a laid back club with a bunch of good humored helpful fisherman this may be the club for you. Looking forward to hearing from you. Paul
  16. Just wanted to commend BR for their new site desgn! Kudos!
  17. They're on another site that mentions Big Fish in their name.
  18. Thanks for the info KB!
  19. As it stands now we are on hold for this. My fishing partner and I are considering joining another club that's already established. If anything changes I'll post an update.
  20. Thank you! For now I'm going to give Stamina's Basswood Musky sticks a try until I get a mini lathe. I'll have less to hand cut and carve this way and get plenty of practice in the mean time.
  21. R U KIDDING ME? TOPWATER=THE BEST EXPERIENCE EVER! John? ;D Hey buddy. That must have been a great experience with your son, very cool! Wishing you and yours the same!
