Where in the spawn are we here in New England???
I was out at the Cape Friday on a deep lake, 80' plus depths. Saw huge female LM's in the 6 to 7 lbs range cruising the shallows and extremely spooky. Also saw some beds which was odd with the water this low. Water temps around 54 to 56*. Caught this Smallie guessing close to 4lbs. Had a 6 to 8 inch shad in it's mouth and can't believe she still tried to fit more in her mouth. Saturday @ Waterman's water temp was 58 to 59* w/millions of bait fish schooling in the weeds w/bass just sitting there w/them. Couldn't get one to take a lure for more then 1/2 second if that. It was just like when their on the beds and they just pick it an spit it. I'm guessing the abundance of bait fish for the taking, made my offerings unappealing.

4 wheel drive vs. All whell drive?
I'm nort sure if this is the right place to post but here goes. I have a 2001 F-150 5.4L 4x4 and w/the price of gas I'm considering other options like Astro mini van AWD or a Safari AWD :-/. Heard good and bad about both. Always owned 4x4's and know very little about AWD. What's the diference? Does anyone else tow there boat/trailer w/AWD? There are some ramps here in New England that are pretty much beach sand and some fully covered w/slime, will AWD do the job? One more question, do they make any other AWD mini van type vehicles that can be used(efficiently) for towing? Thanks in advance fo your advice and help!

Sebile Lures- Magic Swimmer
- Best rod for flukes and/or Senko's
Shimano Cumara CUC72M 7'2" Medium Fast 6-12 1/4-1/2 It's basicaly all I use it for, paired w/ a Core or Revo SX- Which baitcasters do you own
Had to vote Revo because there was no Zillion, Tierra , Core or Chronarch? I'm thinking someones in the market for a new reel! ;D- The Nip, MA 4/12
Water will be warmer due to the shalow depth, not becuase of the current. Current makes for a great ambush spot on that bush. Don't hesitate to cast further up into stream as well. Got 3 LM over 4lbs on three cast last year around this time on a top water Rago rat(Original jointed version) But also do well with jigs so your shiners should do the job. Just drew that scetch for you! Here are some my favorite spots :-X not all some. Arrows indicate where to fish,Good luck!- My First Pig
Very very nice!!!! I'm gonna guess that girls all of 6lbs. Congrats- The Nip, MA 4/12
Yes the outlet in the north end. Water temp will be warmer there Also try black/blue spider grubs. This is a killer spot in spring- The Nip, MA 4/12
Take your canoe and paddle all the way up the right shoreline past the big island to the far right end corner where the stream is. Anchor out in front of the stream about 20 feet away and fan cast your shiners, black blue jigs, firetiger spinner bait and smoke or watermellon senko's towards the mouth of the stream- Worden's Pond RI 4/13
Stll trying to figure out photobucket so last pic until I do. Pike- Worden's Pond RI 4/13

Thanks man, though yours pretty much says it all ;D ;D- How about 41lbs 15oz for 5?
An offering; At first glance I had the same thought. But, before I judge someone especially someone I don't know, I want.......no, I need to be sure. I've learned this leasson the hard way in the past so I'm hoping to save you from the same pain! What you are seeing as photoshopped is actuaully him whiting or coloring in the background, as they stated above to disguise the area. I don't and probably never will catch fish of the quality but I have also blacked out the background. But for fish only in the 2lb and 4lb range. If we post an outstanding fishery or spot in a public forum like this, just think of the swarms of fisherman that would show up and pound the place? In addition, not all fisherman are environmentally friendly, that's a fact! I know I don't want my favorite spots littered w/butts,beer cans and trash! > If you take a moment to clear your previous beliefs and look closely with an open mind you will see the photoshopped sections start in the sky and always stop just near the water line and or around shoulder hight.Sometimes just catching a bit of the bass he's holding while the bottom section of the bass is not affected. Now, compare water spots on his (FB's) pants,as well as shadow castings and sunlight. Placing foot in mouth is something I used to specialize in and road best avoided. Hope you see the light! 8-) FB, sorry for jumping in w/the explination. If you felt one was needed you would have offered one yourself. Just trying to save this lad from the embarassment I once knew so well Amazing fish man!!!!- Worden's Pond RI 4/13

Had another decent day, but my buddy Matt did most of the catching today. Fished from 6:30 AM to 1:30.Water temp started @ 50 and rose to 54.8.. Air temp was 45 on arrival and 50 on departure. Winds were at a constant 15mph w/gusts of 25. Most of the day we fished in 3' to 4' of water with an occassional trip to 6'. All fish were caught in emerging weeds and grass. I7:02 AM 6.3lb Pike in 3' of water, caught on Pumkinseed brush hog pegged w/1/4oz bullett. 7:10 3.8lb LM in 2', on a Mann's -1 bass pattern. 8:07 4.3 LM in 2', same -1. 9:15 2.7 LM in 2',on the -1'. 10:37 2.4 LM in 2', on the -1. 11:18 1.6 LM in 3' on the -1 12:04 4lb Pike in 2',darn -1 : 1:06 4.1 LM in 4' of reeds and grass,Pumpkinseed Brush hog. Needless to say I was the one throwing the brush hog ;D I also threw suspending jerks, dbl willow leaf white spinners, jigs and senko's. Matt always seems to throw the unorthodox type lures but not today. It was great to see him have this kind of outing. :)Accidentely dealeted the pike pictures and video :'( Here's a few of the top fish minus the pike :-/- A Very Good Day FOR BROWN BASS
Good to see you guys here! Nice bronzbacks as always!- Belville Pond N.Kingston RI
Even if I had goose egged it was a gorgeous day to be on the water! 8-) - Best rod for flukes and/or Senko's
