If it were me, I would be flipping and pitching that brush hog into the back water that they normally couldn't get to i.e. behind flooded brush tree trunks and laydowns.

This has to be a personal preference. They have produced a number of fish the past few years 7lbs and up, if you browse the threads you'll find one that Buckmanjr landed a 10.2 LM w/the MS Slammer. If you have the patience to throw 4 oz + lures all day/night looking for one or two monsters, then yeah they are worth it. You must put your time in w/these lures and I would say they have there place in New England. They are not just moster fish lures, fish as small as 10" have hit a 9 and 12" SB's. If your the type that enjoys loading the boat with numbers then swimbaits aren't the way to go. The smaller swimbaits may be a good starting point such as Matt Lures perch and or bass. These have produced numbers in the past for myself when the conditions are right. Yet in my experience a the more traditional lures pruduce more consistantly in the North East.

Well, I don't want to speak out of turn....but.... There was an incident involving a cleat on the bow of a Bass Tracker... :-[ The parts on the Tracker you refer to are called "Rod killers!" :'( Been there done that. They snap like dry twigs! :-/

It only took five or six invites to finally get out with Tin and I gotta say it was well worth the wait! What a hot ticket he is and I'm still laughing ;D Great time and can't wait to do it again Next weekend,just on another pond Numbers well into the 30's(another slow day) ;D and wieght ...........well who cares 8-) Ok a couple in the 4lb range and many 3+. Heck of a time and I was just happy to see they were still in pre spawn mode for Tin's sake. Couple of great action shots and one nice pic of a double. All our point T's are singles,yet guests are welcome for up to 3 T's at $10 per entry after 3 T's you join or your done. I think they might have changed the rules this year where the guest must fish from the members boat who invited them. Previous years they could use their own boat. I'd have to recheck that one. As far as Carbuncle goes I'm opting out on that one,it's just rediculous :

Really? Hmmmmmmmmmmm, I'm from here and I don't here of numbers like that on a regular basis. What secrets were givin away in this thread, Drop shotting? Pluckin-em off beds? or was it me helping out other fisherman so that they too might also join in the fun? I don't get it?

Wondering how you made out? Did you contact Fish & Wildlife?

Fish the rock wall along 195 left of the ramp @ Wadumpa, plucked 8 SM there as well on Saturday while testing out the tracker

In consideration of what I've been doing to the Smallies I had to do a name change! This is just friggin sick!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm ruined for the rest of the year. Mass Hole Mike was originally invited but something came up at the last minute. So I gave my friend Matt a call and we hit a Cape pond today for SM. Launched@ 6:30AM pulled out @ 3 PM.By 9:20AM I had 16 3lbs+ SM boated Matt refused to switch baits and by this time he's only got 1 LM @ 2.5ish :-/ I have no idea how someone can watch the other boater land that many pig's and not switch baits????? it's beyond comprehension! :-? Matt finally switch when the number hit 22 to 1 ;D He ended up w/1 LM and 4 SM Anywho, I completely shattered my last two SM outings by landing 38 SM @ 75lbs + 8-) won't even bother w/the pickerel count. This has ruined me for ever! Never would I have thought it possible and I'm still mesmerized findinding it hard to focus on anything else,I'm off to a banging year but know it can only go down hill from here:( All fish where plucked using the same drop shotted robo worm on 8lb Elite.) Water temps where in the 57 to 60 range. Air temp started out @ 55 and rose to 67. Winds where 8 to 10 @ the start but around 2PM turned up nasty gales of 30 to 35(That's a guess,NASTY STUFF) We pulled up to 4 beds I pitch to the deepest of the 4 "WHAAAAAAM" it's on a pig Bronzeback!!!! 3 minutes in "SNAP" :'(Depressed as all get out, we move on and I catch a half a dozen more 3's. I go back to her hoping she's back"SHE IS"!!!!!! I let her take a little longer and set the hook "BLAAAAM" I got her this time!!!! I play her out ;)under and around she goes my spool and line is screaming! Then she goes under and around the trolling motor......Snap"! :'( :'( I don't understand!!!!!!!!!! Now I'm really bumbed, she's not only broken off twice she now has a 1/O hook in her gullet :-[ Is there any possiblity of me getting for the third time???? WHAOOOOOOOOOOOOO the fight is on yet again!!!!! UN-FRIGGIN BELIVABLE!!!!!!!!! She faught for close to 5 minutes straight ;D here she is Miss branzeback herself! Yes! I also got to remove the other bait and hook from her! I'm dailed in to the Smallmouth zone Baby!!!!!!!!!!! 8-) Thank you GOD!!!!!!! You would not believe how many boats aked us what we were doing becuase there were no fish on the beds! ;D

Tin a big dog???? If he is some of the other BD's could take a lesson from him on how to keep it light and real, not letting it go to their heads and forgetting where they came from! Hey guys! Had a quick 5 hour challenge on Manchuag this morning from 6 to 11. All LM w/57* water temp, air temp was 37* on arrival BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! Extremely low by about 6' or more. 3 boats for the best three fish. Missed 1st by .2 w/6.10 3rd was 6.8. They both threw Smoke Senko's and said they didn't see anything on beds???????? All my fish came off beds :-/ Drop shotted the Robo worm everywhere from 6" to 8' of H2O. The other guys passed right by beds seeing nothing, while I plucked them off right behind them. They are most definately there! I've got a feeling you might be spooking them off w/o realizing it and they're hanging in the dark stuff close by. Try pitching to some of those bare beds ,don't pitch directly into the bed rather pitch passed it and sowly drag it to the center and leave it there! You may also want to consider lazer eye surgury ;D Just kidding guys a good pair of polorized is a must!
